In this section, we want to show you some atypical Halloween pumpkin decorating ideas. We all know that they can be turned into a terrifying image – and we will teach you how to do them later – but you can also get a very personal pumpkin.
HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN IN THE SHAPE OF A CAT
A great option to enjoy with the children of these festivities or to create something simple is the use of plasticine.
The image that we present below is an opportunity to create something sweet, a very different decoration from the typical Halloween in which you can see Halloween kittens. They are very easy to make, you only need plasticine or felt to make the cat’s face on a natural pumpkin.
Another option for kittens is this one that we show you here, it is a large pumpkin stuffed with other kitten pumpkins. For this you can use different types of materials, from fabrics to markers, cardboard, felt, etc. Be creative!
HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN WITH MASK
Have you seen the Zorro movie? If you are going to decorate your house or dress up as bandit movies, El Zorro, or a mask party, nothing better than these pumpkins with funny masks.
To create the mask you can use cardboard or felt, whichever you like the most. You just have to take into account the measure of the pumpkin as if it were ahead.
As for the eyes, you can find stickers in craft stores or “all for one euro” stores, or if you see that you are short of time, you can paint them with a simple marker although they lose their grace a bit.
PIRATE HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN
Try making this funny pumpkin with the children that are decorated as if it were a pirate. A little black fabric or felt will be your allies to make the pirate hat, mustache, and patch. For the eye, you will need a button.
HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN WITH SPIDERS
And for those of you who want scary pumpkins, nothing like decorating them by painting spiders on them.
Even try painting the pumpkin so that it loses its natural orange color, aren’t you afraid of the black one? To paint the pumpkins in this way, it is best to use a spray that will cover them completely.
MAKE HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN WITH A CARDBOARD
If you don’t like pumpkins (think that you must empty all their contents to decorate with a face) you can choose to celebrate Halloween with some cardboard, fishing line, and glue. All you have to do is cut strips of cardboard as you see in the photo.
Then you put them together and you must make a hole so that through this you can pass the thread so that all the strips are joined.
Ideally, you should make the same hole for each end of the cardboard strips that you have cut. Then you can try to reinforce it by simply placing a small circle that you can also make with cardboard and glue it to both the first and the last strip.
We pull the thread so that it is tight between one end of the cardboard and the other and we can form a pumpkin as we see above. With green paper, we close and then add a bow to make it look pretty. Easy and very decorative!
MAKE HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN WITH A FELT
For you to do it with children, even the smallest ones, we can choose to make Halloween pumpkins with a material that is so recurrent in crafts such as felt.
It is easy to take a piece of felt in orange, cut it out in the shape of a pumpkin and stick it on a mural for the children to glue, on black and green felt, the parts of the face and the “tail” of the pumpkin.
The truth is that this material is perhaps one of the easiest to handle and that is why we recommend it as a good option to make a Halloween pumpkin with your children. They will have fun and you can teach them how to cut the orange piece that shapes the pumpkin, and then the black and green pieces so that they are the face and the tail of the pumpkin.
You can even cut out felt in many more colors so that they can give their own imagination to decorate the pumpkins as they like.
MAKE HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN WITH BALLOONS
Another good idea is to make Halloween pumpkins with balloons that in fact already have an oval shape and we can find them in orange so it will be something too, very easy to get.
If you want to “complicate” things a bit, we suggest you make a real pumpkin shape as we see in the video below.
All you need is to take an orange balloon and some ribbon of the same color, or black. Pass the tape from one side of the balloon to the other and then you give it a loop through the end of the closure of the same, then you pass the tape to the other side, and so on until it looks like a real pumpkin. Simpler than it sounds and a great idea for Halloween decoration.
PAPER HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN
You will need balloons, tissue paper in yellow and orange tones, glue or glue, a brush, scissors, rope, and clothespins.
Cut strips of tissue paper in both colors.
Then you inflate the balloon until it is the size you like, you place it on a glass and you start to add glue or glue. Once you have it, go placing the orange strips – alternating with the yellow ones – from the top of the balloon to the knot of it.
If you see that there is little color left, apply glue or glue on the said strip (when it is well dry and fixed) and repeat the operation. So all over the globe. If you want to put a face on it, it will be time to do it with markers or leaving the area of the balloon uncovered (before doing so, read everything so that you understand the procedure).
To dry properly, you can hang the balloons on a string holding them by the knot with the help of a hanging clip.
Once dry, stick it in an area that will not damage the paper-mâché. Then you remove it and you will have your pumpkin formed.
If you want to light it indoors, remember that you have to use a battery-operated or electronic candle.

DECORATE THE HOUSE WITH PUMPKINS
Since we have worked so hard to design super cool pumpkins, now it doesn’t hurt to know some tips about how to decorate your home with these pumpkins. The options are endless because, on a holiday like Halloween, any room becomes the perfect accommodation for this tradition and for the style that a decorated pumpkin brings to it.
If you have a garden, this is undoubtedly a must-see where the Halloween pumpkin cannot be missing. Also, not only will they be scary to see here, but they are an element that brings a charming rustic touch to the head, even throughout the fall and winter months, not limited to Halloween alone.
Although of course, if you celebrate the party and you want the neighbors to visit your house asking for a “trick or treat”, or just for your house to become a representative spectacle of Halloween, you cannot do without the pumpkin either here. Stack a few pumpkins next to your door, or if you have tiny pumpkins, you can make a door hanger.
And in the living room? If you like Halloween but do not want to break the aesthetic harmony of a classic room, you can always choose to place pumpkins in white, gold, or silver tones. You can make your cabalaza yourself and paint it in the colors you want. A combination of white and silver pumpkins will look great, adding elegance to space.
In the kitchen, on the hood, or on any shelves, small pumpkins in a row will also look beautiful and decorative. You can accompany it with other typical elements of the party.
