This is the review of the comparison between the headphones of the same brand the Bose. The first one is Bose QuietComfort 35 I and another one is its updated version Bose QuietComfort 35 II. INTRODUCTION:

Bose QuietComfort 35 II

This headset is a follow-up on the first one, the Bose QC 35 I and basically, the only difference between the QC 35 II and the older model is this little button right there on the earcup. Everything else including the sound quality is pretty much the same, which is awesome because they actually sound really good.

These headphones are really good as far as comfort goes. These are currently retailing for around a hundred and sixty dollars. These are one of the best noise-canceling headphones in the market. As these headphones claim these are really comfortable enough.

DESIGN:

On the earcup, we have a play button which also works with Siri on your iPhone, and a volume button up and down. We also have the charging port, we have the Bluetooth connection light, and the LED battery life indicator. We also have the microphones for the noise canceling system and the microphone for receiving phone calls. You can also use a button there on the earcup to activate Google Assistant if you want. Also, on the right ear cup, you have the power on and off but in combination with the Bluetooth connection.

You get the left and right mark inside the earcup, so you can get to know, which ear cups go on which side. The earcups on these do swivel and Bose Brandon on both the earcups. You have your power switch and your Bluetooth toggle button. You get a bunch of microphones for the noise-canceling activities. There are your play and pause button, volume up and down button, there are also going to be a button for the skip and reverse tracks. There is your micro USB charging slot right on the bottom, there is also your 3.5-millimeter input for the cable. You also have an NFC tag, to pair these up.

COMFORT:

Bose QuietComfort 35 II

I personally think that these headphones are one of the absolute most comfortable headphones I have ever worn. It’s mainly because of this very light plastic material in combination with the very soft earcups. These have a beautiful matte dark finish and just feels like incredibly light on the ears. You almost cannot feel that you are wearing headphones and they are actually pretty light as well. They weigh about 240 grams, which is not much for a pair of headphones. I don’t feel the pressure of the headphone much, so I think it’s incredible that I can actually wear these headphones for a whole day without my ears starting to hurt. The earcups are so soft, it’s almost like memory foam.

The headphone has super lightweight and has a plastic feel to them. The top has a leather band and there is also Alcantara on the top. These have a nice amount of stretch, so no matter how big your head is, you’re going to be able to fit. These have nice clicks on the side to extend your headband.

They are pretty durable as well. But you need to be careful with keys or anything else because that scratches the surface of the headphones. That’s probably the reason why they have given the hard case for it. These can be folded super easily. There are basically no better headphones than these, when you’re on the move especially, for the long journeys. The build quality is actually really nice, so you don’t need to have them in the case but if you don’t want scratches, then you need to use the case.

Noise-canceling in these is one of the best and nice among all the headphones I have tried. Also, the ability to control the noise-canceling through the button is nice. The noise-canceling is really great on the Bose QC 35 II. But you don’t get quite as many new features as you do get with some of the newer headphones, for example, Sony WH-1000XM3 has a feature where you can mute the noise-canceling when you hold your hand on one of the ear cups. Some B&O headphones pause your music when you lift the ear cup. It’s also really old technology with all the buttons as we have real physical buttons instead of a touch control panel.

The Bose QuietComfort 35 wireless headphones come in two colors black and silver. The features on these as the company claims are you get world-class noise cancellation makes quiet sound quieter and music sound better. You have volume optimized EQ for balanced audio performance at any volume. You have wireless convenience with easy Bluetooth and NFC pairing aided by voice prompts. You have noise rejecting a dual-microphone system for clear calls even in windy environments.

Inside the box, you get your carrying case and some usual books. You do get a nice carrying hardshell case, that has a pocket on the back so that you can drop some cables in it. It has a little hoop on the top clip and there is branded on the zipper and on the front with some nice stitching. Inside the case, besides the headphones, you are going to get your 3.5 millimeters wired cord, so just in case you want to use the headphones in the wired mode they give you a little cord. It’s not the thickest cord and straight tips gold plated and Bose branding on them. Then you going to be your USB to micro-USB little small charging cable and also, airplane adapter. Inside the case, you do get another pocket so you get two pockets one on the inside and one on the outside.

BATTERY:

The battery life is really good. They claim it to be 20 hours on a wireless connection and up to 40 hours if you use noise-canceling with the mini-jack plugged in. If you charge these, you actually get an extra two and a half hours of battery life after just 15 minutes. I personally can’t really complain about the battery life because they have never let me down.

You get a 20-hour battery life per charge and up to 40 hours in Wired mode. You do get a quick charge feature that is 15 minutes of charge will give you two and a half hours of battery life. These are pretty much for traveling.

SOUND:

It’s worth noting that as you change the volume on these, the DSP also changes at lower volumes. Treble and bass are slightly boosted above the mid-range, as you increase the volume they recess but as you approach a more neutral sound signature, the headphone starts to compress the dynamic range. These are not bad on dynamic range lower levels but the higher you crank them up, the less dynamic range you’re going to get. Surprisingly, the soundstage is pretty good for a closed back. It has a lot of soundstages but not quite a lot of depth.

Once you put these on, it does get extra quiet. I tested out the sound quality on these with the maximum volume. These really sound pretty good. The treble itself does seem to be a little bit recessed but because of its lack in resolution and lack of detail, it does come across harsh and sibilant at times which is unfortunate. But for the most part, it still leans on the side of unoffensive. So, pretty much across the board, this is going to be lacking in detail but it is just tuned right in frequency response. It’s unoffensive enough, that it’s not ever really fatiguing regardless of being sibilant at times and the sibilant can be avoided by listening to lower volume levels, which the ANC certainly helps with. But these are not bass-heavy headphones. 

WHICH ONE HAS BETTER QUALITY FEATURES?

As far as the qualities in both of these headphones are pretty much the same. The quality of their features is also pretty much the same. But the quality of noise-canceling technology on these are different. The Bose QuietComfort 35 II has better quality noise-cancellation technology than the Bose QuietComfort 35 I.

The Bose QC35 II carries forward the same level of audio and noise cancellation performance of the original, which makes it a solid pair worth considering. We found the addition of Google Assistant to be quite useful, at least when it worked. If you use it a lot, this integration will come in handy. We did face some moments where the experience got a little buggy, but hopefully, all these things can be fixed with firmware updates.

They may not be cheap but the Bose QuietComfort 35 II is the bee knees of on-ear wireless headphones. As usual, the sound quality is excellent but the headphones are comfortable to wear too, have 20 hours of listening time, and even build on the previous version by including access to Google Assistant (if you have a compatible phone).
