Detail Review:

INTRODUCTION:

Bose SounLink Micro

The Bose SoundLink Micro is one of the speakers from Bose that is popular from the day of its launch itself. This speaker is retailing for around a hundred dollars currently on Amazon which is quite Budget-friendly. This speaker features IPX7 waterproof and also comes with a built-in microphone.

Ultimate Ears Wonderboom

The Ultimate Ears Wonderboom is retailing for around seventy dollars currently on Amazon. There is another model out there that’s quite similar it’s called the UE Roll 2 Volcano. They’re both similarly priced in the beginning and comparably there are only a few differences between them. This speaker is retailing for different prices based on the color you choose from.

DESIGN:

Bose SounLink Micro

The Bose SoundLink Micro has a compact design to it and it has a rubber finish.  The speaker itself looks bulky but actually, it is lightweight, so it becomes easy to carry around. On the top of the speaker, there will be your Bluetooth connectivity button, your power button, and in between these two buttons, there are your LED lights that indicate the battery left in your speaker. Above the LED lights is where there is your micro USB charging port to charge your speaker.

On the front of the speaker, on the top, there is the Bose branding, and above it is three holes for the built-in microphone. Below the Bose, branding is where you have got volume up and volume decrease button that is marked as plus and minus buttons. In the middle of those two buttons, you have a functional button that is used to play and pause your music, and also, to activate your voice assistance such as Siri and Google Assistant. The half portion on the front has a grille that lets out the sound from the speaker. The backside of the speaker has a strap used to hand the speaker to your bike or backpack.

Ultimate Ears Wonderboom

As far as the design of this speaker, it has got a round shape to it and also, it is small in size, so it becomes easy to hold it in the palm of your hand. The grille is all around the speaker that’s what makes this speaker 360 degrees surround sounded speaker. There is also a hook on the top of the speaker that helps in hanging the speaker. On the front of the speaker, you have got a huge plus and minus button for volume up and down. On the top, there is your power button, Bluetooth button, and multifunctional button. On the back of the speaker is where there will be your micro USB charging port.

UE Wonderboom

FEATURES:

Bose SounLink Micro

The speaker comes in a nice swipe-up box, and when you swipe to open the box, you will get the speaker first of all at the top. Apart from the speaker itself, you will get the documentation that includes your manual and warranty card, and a Bose branded micro USB cable to charge your speaker. As far as the specifications, you will get 5 watts of sound output with this speaker, it is IPX7 waterproof that means it is submersible in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes, six hours of playtime, and it supports stereo mode as well.

To connect this speaker to the phone you need to turn on the speaker first and then you will see one of the LED lights on the top starts blinking which means your speaker is in pairing mode. Then turn on the Bluetooth in your mobile phone and search and select the Bose SoundLink Micro from the list there and you are good to go. To pair these speakers with another speaker you need to press the Bluetooth button and both speakers and that will turn the speakers in pairing mode and you need to take the help of the Bose companion app for this purpose.

As far as the Bose companion app it is called Bose Connect app, in the app, you can connect two speakers together and get access to party mode and stereo mode. Also, in the app, you get access to control your music such as volume up and down and it also, shows which song you are playing and also, your battery percentage left in your speaker. To turn this speaker into party mode you need to select party mode in the speaker, and the app will start searching for another speaker and keep tracking it, and then you need to select the one, and you are done.

Ultimate Ears Wonderboom

The UE Wonderboom floats while the Volcano does not float. Both the UE Wonderboom and the UE Volcano are IPX7 rated and what that means is they can be submerged in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes. The other thing I really like about this speaker is its 360 degrees. It’s got a 10-hour lithium-ion battery, and it takes about 2.8 hours to recharge a battery, you can leave it plugged in all the time if you want otherwise.

The next thing is it is something that you can connect with the Echo Dot and Alexa it is compatible, so if you want a smart system you can do that. This is a Bluetooth speaker, so there’s no Wi-Fi needed, it is all Bluetooth, it has a hundred-foot range which is an upgrade over some prior Ultimate electronics UE Boom. I think the original UE Boom was 50 feet and the original Roll was 50 feet as well. So, this is a hundred feet, the Roll 2 Volcano is also a hundred feet. So, pretty much anywhere in your house, you should have connectivity, and that’s pretty much all the high points.

The pairing process is really simple, you just need to power on the speaker so you just hold the power button for one second, and then you need to hold the Bluetooth button for about two seconds until you hear the sound and the light flash it means your speaker is in pairing mode. Then turn on the Bluetooth in your phone and search and select the Wonderboom and you are good to go. To connect this speaker with another speaker, you need to power on the other speaker and then above the power button there is a button marked as Ultimate Ears, just hold those button down for about three seconds together and give it about five seconds and you will get a sound and they both should be connected.

SOUND QUALITY:

Bose SounLink Micro

As far as the sound quality of the Bose SoundLink Micro, it sounds pretty good and loud enough for small and medium-sized rooms. It sounds crystal clear and the bass is pretty good for the size of the speaker. Also, in this size, it sounds pretty loud and it is loud more than I expected. As far as the bass, it is not much powerful and punchy but it has a decent amount of powerful bass. But this does get a little bit distorted when the volume is more than 90%. But the overall sound quality really very good at this price range and for this size.

Ultimate Ears Wonderboom

Over-order, the sound quality on offer is pretty decent and the UE Wonderboom does well and trying to balance out the frequency range. The vocals sound clean and the bass is on a comprehensive system well. Although, if you do have the volume set to maximum and start pushing out anything bass-focused, you will start to hear the speaker distorted. When you put one of these speakers, you turn it up the board halfway, it’s gonna sound like your iPhone on max. If you get two speakers that’s the max that you can pair, it fills the room with sound, and at about a third volume that’s gonna be like a full iPhone and it just gonna sound way nicer with a nice rich bass.

UE Wonderboom

WHICH ONE IS GOOD TO BUY?

In my opinion, the UE Wonderboom is good for you to buy than the Bose SoundLink Micro because it has better battery life than the Bose SoundLink Micro, it sounds better than the Bose SoundLink Micro and it has quite similar features to the Bose SoundLink Micro at a lower price.
