INTRODUCTION:

Bose SoundLink Revolve+

The Bose SoundLink Revolve Plus is like the elder brother of the Bose SoundLink Revolve. This speaker is one of the popular speaker in the market. This speaker is retailing for around two hundred and fifty dollars currently on Amazon.

The Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3 is one of those speakers in the market that is getting some attention as an immersive portable speaker with its 360 degrees sound. This speaker is retailing for around two hundred dollars currently on Amazon.

DESIGN:

Bose SoundLink Revolve+

Right off the bat this is a beautiful design, it feels really nice, has a kind of matte finish there at the top, and then the handle over there is actually quite durable. It is very strong and sturdy, and there is kind of a rubbery feel at the bottom and the top. There is a USB port there at the back for charging this speaker, and also there is a headphone jack if you want to listen to it wired. On the top of the speaker, you have your power button, you have the Bluetooth button, the volume decrease and increase, a multi-functional button, and a mode button. You do have the LED indicator at the top of the speaker, which lets you know the battery left in your speaker.

Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3

The Megaboom 3 speaker is designed for outdoor use by the pool, on the beach, picnics, festivals, camping, hiking, etc. It is sort of fully dustproof, waterproof, dropproof, and rugged speaker. Packing the Megaboom 3 wasn’t a problem, its compact size was easy to toss into our backpack without being too concerned about else was in there, since it is very ruggedly built. The design of this speaker is very simple. It basically a cylinder wrapped in a stunning high performing two toned fabric that is extremely tough.

On the front you will find the plus and minus signs that are actually volume control buttons which is nicely palced in the whole simplicity factor. On the back, you have the micro USB port for achrging as well as the hand loop. On the top os where the magic happens, you got the Bluetooth, and power on/off utton and right in the center, there is a button called the magic button.

FEATURES:

Bose SoundLink Revolve+

The Bose SoundLink Revolve Plus is a bigger addition, which is I think a perfect size. If you see on the box, it says Bose SoundLink Revolve Plus, and if you rotate it on the side, it’s just a Bose logo as well, and at the back, you have a little bit of a description there, it says our best portable speaker, deep, loud, and immersive true 360 sound, water-resistant, durable, Bose connect app enhances control, make and answer calls with speakerphone, and up to 16 hours of charge. So that’s what’s written there on the box itself, and on the other side is another Bose logo.

Inside the box, you get the speaker itself, then there’s a little bit of a booklet contains some information, the serial number, and the manual itself, then we have a USB cable, you have power brick and you get the power connector and you have two different versions over here, so you can use one according to the country you are in. Design-wise I love it, I think it’s just beautiful, it’s stunning, and if you have a dark setting I think it just blends in really well.

As far as the first impression, in terms of the build quality, I think it’s it’s stunning and it’s really beautiful. The fact that you get the 360 or round surround sound is just really great because then you’re able to hear the music wherever you are. Another aspect that I really enjoy about the speaker itself is that it actually has one of those screws that you can attach so you can also attach it to your tripod stand. Another feature that is really enjoying in terms of my first impression is how quickly it connects to Bluetooth. The moment you switch on the speaker, it automatically connects to the previous devices that you’d connected it with. So you just click it on and automatically it connects, in a matter of seconds, which is super cool.

Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3

This speaker is 8.9 inches tall and 3.4 inches in diameter. One of the great feature about this speaker is the Magic button. With just that one button, you can play, pause, and skip tracks directly on the speaker, and also, you can push it to control any of your convenient streaming music or set up custom one-touch playlist for Spotify, Amazon Music, Amazon Prime Musoc, Apple Music, and Deezer. You can do this magically without reaching for your phone.

There is abondons of Bluetooth speakers on the market that some neft features and impressive sound. But as far as work concern, none of them matters if they runs out of battery. The Megaboom 3 has managed to pack a 20 hours of battery life, which is massive. Using the latest battery technique in this speaker, you can enjoy full day on a single charge. The impressive tech doesn’t stop there, Ultimate Ears have a very cool charging dock called power up, that’s sold spearately but that’s worth buying. But you can always charge it via the micro-USB port. The dock is as simple as round disk, that once again shows the simplicity of the Megaboom 3.

The Megaboom 3 is not only waterproof with IP67 water and dustproof rating, it also floats. If you are adventurous you can actually take this speaker into the water with you. It can be totally submerged in one meter of water for uoto 30 minutes. The Boom app is pretty cool and offers some great features in addition to a regualr app settings like customizable EQ but what you would really love is the party up feature. With this feature you will be able to pair up 150 Boom line-up speakers to create an ultimate sound experience.

Bose SoundLink Revolve+

SOUND QUALITY:

Bose SoundLink Revolve+

As far as the sound quality of the speaker, it sounds really good. The mid-range of the speaker itself is very clear and I haven’t experienced any poor quality or fatigue in the audio. High frequencies are also good and loud so that you can get that balanced sound throughout the audio. It definitely works well in larger rooms as well and you can also connect two Revolve Plus speakers to get that surround sound effect.

Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3

The 360 degrees dispersion of sound is really impressive and it easily fills up the room with well refined edges and excellent details. The bass, mids and treble tones are nicely balanced. The bass is quite punchy and full, there is enough weight to it, especially with the enhancing passive radiators bass boost. You also get some quite good clarity in the highs, with crisp vocals. The customizable five band EQ on the app was able to tweek out the diffrent textures in the vocals. If we push the volume to 100 percent we can find some distortion and hit in the sub-bass but taking back the volume down can solve the problem without any muddiness.

WHICH ONE IS WORTH BUYING?

In my opinion, the Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3 is worth buying for two hundred dollars than the Bose SoundLink Revolve Plus for two hundred and fifty dollars. The UE Megaboom 3 has better features than the Revolve Plus and also, it sounds better than the revolve Plus for fifty dollars lower price range.
