Detail Review:

INTRODUCTION:

Jaybird Tarah Pro

The Jaybird Tarah Pro is currently retailing for around a hundred and forty dollars. These are the updated version of the Jaybird Tarah. These earbuds give pretty good comfort and have a braided cord.

Bose SoundSport

The Bose SoundSport wireless headsets are currently retailing for around a hundred and thirty dollars. These are quite stylish wireless earbuds available at this price range.

Jaybird Tarah Pro

DESIGN:

Jaybird Tarah Pro

If you look at the headphone, it has a nice corded braid, it’s a soft touch braided cord. It’s better than a rubber kind of cord because rubber tends to snag on you and this will just slide. So it’s not gonna be as annoying as a rubber especially for those ladies out there if you have long hair the rubber will tend to snag on your hair and you’ll have issues with that but with this braided cord, you won’t have an issue with that.

If you look further down it has the volume power up controls over there. So right there you could put the volume up or volume down, and they can also turn on the headphones. If we look at the back of the control panel, that is a charging port that it has and it charges via a proprietary charging port right there and while it is proprietary it does have a nice feature where just instantly magnetizes to the back. So you won’t have an issue with it not charged.

Bose SoundSport

We have two extra ear tips of small and large sizes and these seem to be made up of silicon material. The build quality of the cable is pretty good.  The earphones are made up of soft-touch rubber and high glossy plastic with Bose branding on it. The ear tips are quite soft and the right and left part is mentioned on the ear tips as well. All controls are given on the right earbud with the power button over it with the micro USB charging port under the rubber hood.

It would have been better if it was type C for the price for what you’re paying for. Further, we have the volume control buttons and multifunction button over at the right side and the buttons are not that tactile but feel a little flimsy due to the rubberized coating. Behind the controls, we also get an NFC tag and the microphone as well. To power this one on, they have given a dedicated power button on the right earbud along with the power and Bluetooth LED indicators.

COMFORT:

Jaybird Tarah Pro

These are the Jaybird style headphones that you get. I do like that it has a one-piece earbud system and you just simply put it back in. Some of the previous issues that I had with Jaybird headphones was that the earbud would actually come off because it wasn’t really a good fit but they fixed that by making this a one-piece system where the ear fin and earbud are all in one piece and it is securely attached to the earbud. So you’ll have no issue with it coming off into your ear. Sometimes into your ear canal, you actually have to get like tweezers or something to pull it out but with this, you have no issues with that.

Bose SoundSport

The earbud seems to be quite big in size which some people might find this one odd but not to worry this won’t hinder your comfort level. These earphones are quite comfortable but here they have missed the sound isolation by saying it has done with the purpose so that you are not completely cut off from the environment while jogging or cycling. If you are a person looking for great isolation you probably won’t get that here along with the comfort.

Bose SoundSport

FEATURES:

Jaybird Tarah Pro

These are the Jaybird wireless headphones but they are wired. These are some of the premium headphones they have on the market right now. If you tend to lose your headphones a lot you’ll have no issue with these headphones getting lost because they’re always wired around your neck but they are wireless. These are rated ipx7 which means they are dustproof, and they are waterproof up to three meters for 30 minutes. So you could literally not gonna have any issues with it getting messed up by your sweat they will be just fine. These are Bluetooth 5.0 so wouldn’t have any issue in terms of connection.

These have a little cinch-cord right there, so you can move this up and down and it will go tighter or looser around your neck depending on how to fit you want it. With these headphones on your ear, they work by a plunger system, they don’t go too deep into your ear because it’s more of a plunger system. It’s a very wide silicone earbud so when it goes into your ear it kind of just covers your completely, so with that you will get pretty good sound isolation and you won’t be able to hear anything around you. I mean you can hear a little bit but really if you have your music on and you have the earbud securely fit, you will not be able to hear anything and for these.

Bose SoundSport

All the unboxing experience is quite decent with the huge earphones’ image at the front side of the box. At the back, we have the pricing details with MRP. A box shell slides out followed by the inner box which does look quite stunning. On unfolding the box bag, you will get the main unit that is the sound sport at the center and this one looks quite beautiful in its first look. We have the earphone carry case along with a USB to micro USB cable for charging with some documentation such as the Quick Start manual guide with the warranty card as well.

Its Bluetooth connection is superb. The NFC pairing works excellent, which allows you to just one touch to pair your smartphone which I found really convenient. The earphone also supports multiple device connections and can be connected to more than one device at a time so that you won’t miss an important call from one device while enjoying music from another one. This device lacks Qualcomm AptX or AptX XD sound technology. That delivers is really low latency rate in Bluetooth audio transmission which would have made these earphones even better. Although I didn’t find any lag or delay between audio and visual so it never bothered me.

Further, they also have a Bose Connect app that allows you to share music or broadcast the same music to multiple wireless Bose headphones together at the same time and you can become a DJ in your group. Also, you can manage the registered Bluetooth paired devices, and also you can upgrade your earphones by this application.

BATTERY AND ITS LIFE:

Jaybird Tarah Pro

The battery life on these Jaybirds is about 14 hours I found that it lasts about maybe 12 hours until the low battery notification comes out. If you actually stick this on to the charger for about five minutes it will last you another two hours that’s a lot more than a lot of other headphones out there.

Bose SoundSport

I found the battery life to be pretty decent in it which is of about five to five and a half hours of continuous playback at about 60 to 70% volume which is not as great as compared to some other earphones in the market as of now. It takes around two hours to completely charge up the headphones which are fine but fast-charging USB type-c would have made this earphone price justified.

SOUND:

Jaybird Tarah Pro

For me, I do tend to like bass-heavy headphones that are pretty loud so I could zone out and not hear the surrounding, not hear anybody just listen to the music and you might work out and these definitely will get the job done. Especially after you use the Jaybird app and equalize everything to your liking, if you want a little more bass you can do that if you want a little more treble you can do that if you want your mids or highs wherever you can do that on the app and the app is pretty good.

Bose SoundSport

This one is the earphone which is very well balanced and has a very balanced signature of sound quality. Bose used a dynamic equalizer in this earphone which tunes itself according to what music you are listening to in order to give you the best possible sound quality. In my testing, I found this sound quality to be quite warm and very well balanced. The bass, mids, and highs are on point and you won’t feel to tweak around the EQ to adjust the sound quality. The details are crisp and the stereo expansion is also noticeable.

I have also tried to play with a custom equalizer and the results were extremely good. There was no Distortion and the sound quality was pretty nice. One thing is to notice that, this earphone is not bass-heavy or vocal-heavy, these are balanced sort of headphones. Tweaking with the equalizer won’t give you that much response as it’s built-in EQ wouldn’t allow you to do so, which some audiophile may miss that tweaking functionality but for on-the-go person who just play music with stock music player then it is good to go.

Bose SoundSport

WHICH TO BUY?

In my opinion, you should buy the Jaybird Tarah Pro if you want a great battery life because its battery life is better than the Bose SoundSport. But if you are ok with the low battery life, you can go for the Bose SoundSport because other than the battery life I feel these both perform the same and the price of Bose is less than the Jaybird.

Expert Reviews of Bose SoundSport:

Overall, the Bose SoundSport Wireless is a bit of a mixed bag. On the one hand, they fit securely and sound great; on the other, the cable slips to the side when you’re walking or running and battery life is disappointing.

By HotHarware
If you are looking for ultra light-weight Bluetooth headphones with exquisite sound for that audiophile on your list, check out the SoundSport Wireless Headphone by Bose. Weighing in just under an ounce (0.8oz), the lithium-ion battery will keep the tunes rolling for up to 6 hours on a 2-hour charge. It offers Bluetooth and Near Field Communication (NFC) connectivity and is sweat and weather resistant. With an audio quality known only from Bose (nothing compares, in our opinion, to Bose’s low-end response) and its Stay Hear+ tips, your music lover will have comfort, style, and bodacious beats, even during intense athletic activities.

The SoundSport Wireless is the best wireless sports headphones you can buy – they are supremely comfortable and unlike the AirPods, also sound excellent. A home run from Bose that for once does not break the bank.

By TechGearLab
Delivering top-quality sound, the Bose SoundSport has enough audio juice to keep you delightfully entertained on a plane ride or during your commute. However, the earbuds themselves don’t have quite as streamlined a design as some other models, making them slightly less well suited to high octane workouts.

By Tom’s Guide
Excellent audio quality and a comfortable fit make the bulky Bose Soundsports a great set of Bluetooth earbuds.
