Detail Review:

INTRODUCTION:

Jaybird Vista

The Jaybird Vista Comes around for $179. They are actually designed for use during sports activities. As far as the price, they are actually worth what they provide.

Jaybird Tarah Pro

The Jaybird Tarah Pro comes at $150 but I think they’re worth it. They bear the features for which they have been valued. They are quite comfortable to carry and there is no fear of losing single earbud alone as they have a braided cord with them.

DESIGN:

Jaybird Vista

The box itself is quite impressive, the box gives a quick guide about how did it get started. The case is actually a very nice small little container, with string stoppers you can hang it on your keys or whatever you want to do with it. The case is quite beautiful with a yellow finish inside, a nice magnet there to hold them closed. It tells you the waterproofing IPX7 but they’re not designed for swimming. You are getting the USB type-C cable.

There is another magnet for the earbuds to hold in. They’re not gonna come out of the case by accident or anything like that by knocking them. You can see they’ve got this little fin over there to help them stay in your ears. I’ve got an indication which is the right and left to wear it correctly, you also get a charging cable, and some manuals quick starter guide that tells you how to put them in that could be pretty useful.

We don’t have touch buttons, it’s an actual physical click button that you press. Some people don’t like this because they feel it’s pushing it into the ear. I’ve never really felt any discomfort with that. It’s easy to use. When we have touch controls during our sports activity, there are chances that they change their performance if we touch them by mistake.

Jaybird Tarah Pro

They’re waterproof IPX7 certified. I think that can go down to a meter but keep in mind that Bluetooth doesn’t work underwater, so you can like to wear them in the shower but more importantly, if you’re a heavy sweater then you have no chance of burning them out.

It weighs for under an ounce with the silicon gels that I have on them. So right in the sweet spot where you want them to be weight is not a factor in these. They come with a variety of gels so if the stock ones that come on the headphones don’t fit into your ear, you have other options to choose from.

COMFORT:

Jaybird Vista

We are getting a couple of extra silicon buds for different size ears, you get the larger one with a large hook, and then a small with a very small little hook and if you look at what’s actually in the unit’s themselves that’s the medium with a medium top hook.

When we put them in, it’s quite a tight fit and there’s no sound isolation with these units, but the sound isolation comes from the fit so there’s no active sound isolation, there’s also no hear through. They got a sports fit, so they’re not supposed to be able to fall out when you’re doing vigorous training.

The only complaint I had was on the right earbud, I actually have to take it out during cycling and this is about half an hour into the right, not very long but it causes quite a lot of pain on the outside of my ear canal. This may be able to be resolved with a different sized ear tip. It’s strange that it only happens on the one side, I had not experienced it on the other side.

Jaybird Tarah Pro

These earbuds go right in your ear easily. One thing that I really like about these is in the past you’ve had to decide whether you want to buy over the ear or right in the ear for your buds. But here, the great thing about the Tarah Pro is that they have something that they’re calling switch fit and you can just change the angle of the buds by twisting the earbud and it goes from and under the ear to over the ear.

If you’re wearing them while you’re working out since you’re right up against the back of your neck it keeps them from bouncing around. If you want to take a headphone or maybe you’re just using it for commuting, then you can use them for under the ear. What that does is give you greater access to the microphone, so if you’re taking phone calls your voice is going to come in that much clearer.

FEATURES:

Jaybird Vista

This is sweat and waterproof resistant with an IPX7 rating, single earbud mode, what it means is you can’t use only one earbud the left or the right while the other in your case because they’re not dependent. On some of the buds these days you have to always use the right and then the right pass to the left, these are not like that they each play individually. The manual inside the box tells you about the basic functions, play-pause, next song projects, press to play and pause, double-click for next song, and long press for off.

If you’re running or cycling or anything like that, you can take one bud and use only one bud like that instead of having to use the sound isolation if you need to hear your surroundings because there’s no hear through like some other manufacturers and there’s no active noise cancellation, it’s all passive stuff.

To pair the buds to the phone open up the case, press the button in the middle over there until the light starts to flash, they’ll appear at the bottom there in your phone, you have to select that and connect it. To reconnect the buds to the phone you just open up the case, take out a bud and it gets connected almost instantaneously and if you put it back in again it disconnects.

When you open up the app, you’ll see custom settings over there. These custom settings do not have to be changed every time, once you’ve set it automatically downloads it to the earbud and then you can use it thereafter. You can also go to your earbuds over there and go to button control and select what each button does.

At the moment the long press is power off, I like to set that to your volume up and volume down. You’ve got that function but then if you’re going to use that function you will obviously have to use both earbuds. You cannot use only one earbud because it’s the volume up on the right earbud and volume down on the left earbud.

To play the music you select your song, you can start playing one click to pause, double click for the next song, press again to play, you can also long-click depending on how you set it up on the EQ setting, you can long click there the volume goes up, left earbud volume goes down.

I tested the earbuds during my workouts. After my indoor cycle, I can confirm that the earbuds work exceptionally well, all the functionality is 100%, volume up, volume down, pause that all works well, and that is also with a Windows 10 PC no syncing problems and while I was sweating a lot also, it doesn’t loosen the earbuds in any way.

Jaybird Tarah Pro

The things that I really liked about this is that it comes with the braided cord, so it’s gonna be a lot more sweat-resistant and it’s gonna be a lot more tangle-resistant than the other cords. It’s also not going to stick to my neck which I find that some of the plastic-coated cords do.

Another thing that I really like the good is the switch fit this is something I haven’t seen in other earbuds, I think it’s fantastic and it’s something that is sorely needed.

Another feature that I like about these is they are magnetic. So, they stick together, it’s a great way to store them also. If you leave them on if you touch the magnets it actually pauses the audiobook or the music that you’re listening to. So, you’re not going to lose your place if you’re in a book which is great because I tend to do that all the time. It’s also got an auto-off feature which is awesome for me.

They also use Bluetooth 5.0 so you’re going to get a bit of a stronger connection. I did not have any problems with losing any connections to my phone while I was running.

BATTERY AND ITS LIFE:

Jaybird Vista

The box claims that it’s got 6 hours playtime, 10 hours charged in the case. They’ve also got fast charge five minutes of charging equals one hour of playtime, single-ear mode gone over that. The battery life here is quite impressive. They use charging by the USB type-C unfortunately they don’t have Qi wireless charging.

Jaybird Tarah Pro

It also doesn’t do drain battery. The most awesome feature about the Jaybird or pros is that it’s a solid 14 hours. I using a few times and I can right at 14 hours to test the battery every time super-psyched which means that you can charge it once use it the entire week. Maybe charge it again right before your long run but it’s going to be one of the longest-lasting batteries that I have in something this small, it’s really awesome.

Another great feature is that if you do find that when you pull it out and you want to go out and work out or go for a run that the battery is low, it’s got a quick charge feature, so you can plug it in and after five minutes you get two solid hours of usage.

SOUND:

Jaybird Vista

They have premium music sound with custom EQ, they’ve got an app that you can use to adjust the EQ and the sound of the actual device to suit your music and calls. The sound is pretty good, the bass level is good, the lows, mids, and highs are great. The call quality is not that much good but it’s ok.

If you’re playing music you change your EQ settings over there as hard you’d like them to be according to the top of music that you listen to. There’s also a function that’ll automatically test and go through a couple of sounds in there to automatically set it up, otherwise, you can just play around with these settings over there and they are very effective.

Jaybird Tarah Pro

For sound isolation, I do put my headphones through test and that’s wearing them on the subway to see if they are going to be blocking out all the sound. The subway is pretty loud, I did get a little bit of sound leakage from the subway, but it’s something that I expected from a bud and not something that sort of covers my entire ear.

I think that even when I was listening to audiobooks, I could still make out all of the words and not even make it out, I could still hear very clearly the story that I was listening to. Nothing was blocked out even if the voice got a little bit soft.

They work with the Jaybird EQ and keep in mind that if you set the Jaybird EQ it doesn’t set on the device that actually sets it on the headphones. So if you connect to your phone with and have the EQ set to a certain configuration that’s going to follow you to your computer, it’s going to follow you to your iPad, it’s going to follow you to whatever device you’re connected to. With the help of EQ, you can adjust the sound quality and the bass of the music and call quality.

WHICH ONE HAS BETTER FEATURES?

In my opinion, if you are looking for a premium earbud with a stylish look then you should go for Jaybird Vista. Not only looks at the features there are also better than the Jaybird Tarah Pro. The only negative thing that I feel about the Jaybird Tarah Pro is that’s not even that expensive look for $150. I know $150 is a lot of money but it’s not like overly expensive for a set of headphones that’s about what you expect to pay.
