Detail Review

INTRODUCTION:

Logitech G403 Wireless

This is the G403 Prodigy Wireless mouse but this model also comes in a wired-only model. The design and features and everything will show you openly that this is a simple and modest wireless mouse.

Logitech G305 Lightspeed

This is a wireless mouse with lightspeed technology for no lag connectivity. The design of this mouse looks so similar to the G Pro wired mouse. This mouse is the cheapest wireless mouse in the Logitech.

DESIGN & COMFORT:

Logitech G403 Wireless

It is a little bit light in weight and this is ergonomically designed for supreme comfort and lightweight construction. This also has a 10-gram removable weight so that’s kind of nice, you can customize it how you want to. It also has RGB lighting which is 16.8 million colors.

On the mouse itself, they went with the matte black, feels nice, build quality feels good, buttons also sound about normal. The wireless G403 isn’t that much heavier than the wired one, jumping from 90 to 107 grams. So, it will not be a very heavy mouse for you.

Logitech G305 Lightspeed

The G305 is the cheapest Logitech Lightspeed Mouse based on the prices. It takes the basic design of the Logitech G Pro not so everything but a necessity and turns out to be a no-frills wireless gaming mouse and it’s pretty good.

Most feats are slanted at the edges and have like a faster glide out of the box without any breaking-in period which is great. In regards to shape and ergonomics and the buttons, the G305 uses the same shell as the Logitech G Pro Wireless or the G102 or G203. So, if you have tried those before, you will know how the G305 feels like.

It’s a small oval shape mouse with slight comfort curves in the buttons. The back slope downwards though but not as far as the G100 or the G Pro wireless. My biggest issue with the shape is the sides, they bulge slightly outwards which is okay on the left side but slightly irritates my ring and pinky finger on the other side. It feels like my fingers always rubbing the mat but that might be a personal problem for me.

As for the weight, it depends on the battery you’re using. With the AA alkaline, it comes out of the box is kind of pretty heavy for a gaming mouse in this generation because it weighs just under 100 grams which is still light in my opinion but some people who think that’s heavy for a gaming mouse. You could get it down to 90 grams though using a AA lithium battery and even lower with an AAA battery and a converter that you could find on Amazon. So, if weight is a matter for you, you could try those different options.

FEATURES & PERFORMANCE:

Logitech G403 Wireless

In the box with the mouse itself, you get a USB, a cable to charge, some paper works and you can also use this mouse wired by plugging that cable. This is a wired or wireless gaming mouse, it’s kind of nice because you can use it either way. It is 2.4 gigahertz and it has the cable that comes with it. One millisecond wireless report rate and gaming-grade sensor, so it’s supposed to work fast.

It has a couple of programmable buttons on the side as well as on the top and the mouse wheel is a button as well. It has a little logo on the place where your palm rests, that will light up once you have it plugged in, that’s RGB lighting. On the bottom, it has an on/off button as well as the round piece where you have to put the 10 gram stone comes with the mouse, which adds little weight to your mouse if you want a heavy mouse. So, you can change the weight of your mouse, it’s pretty handy.

This work along with the Logitech keyboard and if you have a Logitech gaming headset, all work on the same software which is pretty hand and amazing.

Logitech G305 Lightspeed

It uses Logitech’s Hero 12K sensor for maximum battery life and sports a 1000 Hertz polling rate for the same one millisecond response time as most wired mice. However, being a budget wireless mouse what features does it sacrifice for the price as it turns out not many.

Performance-wise, the Hero 12K like many top optical sensors on the market these days is almost flawless in terms of performance. Now during normal use and in-game, it tracks smoothly with no acceleration or skipping as far as I could tell and there are no spin-outs either. The mouse also has an endurance mode with a slow polling rate and thus response time.

The wireless connection is flawless like most Logitech wireless mouse these days. It’s as simple as plugging in the dongle and turning the most on and you’re good to go. I never lost connection even in areas where there are a lot of devices using the 2.4 gigahertz band. If you’re having issues with the connection, there’s also a receiver extension included in the box.

Now, the G305 has onboard memory, so it carries its settings from the Logitech gaming software. You can set up your DPI settings, there are actually five DPI settings and it moves in increments of 50 DPI all the way up to 12,000 DPI which is insane.

The main two buttons feel exactly like the ones on the G Pro and are consistent and satisfying due to Logitech’s using their priority metal spring tensioning on their buttons. They’re loud though with a fair amount of travel as well compared to other mice I’ve tried. Though they are light and I never felt fatigued using them. There’s clear sharp tactile feedback on the down press which makes for a very satisfying click. The side button looks the same as the ones on the G Pro but feels very different. The G305 doesn’t feel mushy since it hits the solid end without any additional resistance but they have a lot of travel. The scroll wheel is nothing special in my opinion. It works well and harder to press than most mice in my opinion.

There’s no RGB on this mouse which was done in order to save battery and cut down on the weight. There’s also an extra mouse foot at the back of the G305 in order to add stability but it also means that no third-party designed for the G Pro will not fit with this feat.

The pros are, it is lightweight which a personal preference, you have a long battery life, great sensor, a good option for customization and software. It’s cheap and also has good Mouse feet, the 1 millisecond response time is flawless and the wireless connection is great. The con in my opinion is a lack of RGB that could be a con for some people. The side buttons may have too much travel. The clicks are kind of loud.

BATTERY:

Logitech G403 Wireless

You’re supposed to get lots of battery life with this. Some of the big gaming teams who play like League of Legends, they’ve been using this Mouse to game with. It can be used while charging which is a good thing, especially since this model has a non-removable battery you can also use its cable as a signal extender.

It can run up to around 30 hours with RGB lights turned off or around 20 if you turn them on which is not that impressive to begin with, but at least, it charges are pretty fast due to its small battery capacity.

Logitech G305 Lightspeed

The performance mode delivers the promised 1000 hertz polling rate and one millisecond response time but that would cost you more battery life. Instead of the AA battery though you can use AAA with a converter.

WHICH TO BUY?

In my opinion, if you like the design of the G Pro but you have a tight budget, the G305 Lightspeed is definitely for you. The G305 is a little bit heavy mouse and doesn’t have RGB but other than that everything is fine with that Mouse. Otherwise, if you have more money to spend, the G403 Prodigy wireless mouse is a good option and it can also use as a wired mouse.
