Detail Review:

INTRODUCTION:

Logitech G502 Lightspeed

This is the gaming mouse which is also one of the best selling mice. The features and the buttons and also the design makes this mouse very popular. Also, there are no issues with wireless technology and latency.

Logitech G903 Lightspeed

Logitech is a very popular brand amongst gamers because they’ve been in the market for more than a decade and they always provide us with the best products available in their line. We all know how annoying cables can be on a gaming mouse but we also know that if we decide to ditch the wire, we’ll have to deal with the input lag and latency. This mouse gets rid of the cable without sacrificing any input lag or latency. Logitech managed to create the best wireless mouse there is for gaming with stunning capabilities and instantaneous response time.

DESIGN & COMFORT:

Logitech G502 Lightspeed

While you looking at it, you still had those same 11 Grimble buttons, the illuminated G logo, the DPI light indicators. At first glance, you might not even notice anything different at all. There’s the same design, same ergonomic and that’s what we loved about the G502.

When you compare this with the G502 Hero, the size and shapes will remain unchanged, same button layout but there is one slightly noticeable change which is the hyper scroll wheel. This now has a rubber accent on the wheel itself for improved grip and it’s also more of a hallowed wheel as opposed to the more solid metal piece on the previous mice. Still feels the same and still works, you just now have that rubber coating and it’s also gonna help slightly cut down in the overall weight.

It is lighter than G502 Hero. This is 114 grams versus the Hero is 121 grams, so not by much but it is still lighter and they managed to rework the entire internals and so cut down a few grams while still integrating the battery and the wireless technology. However, it’s actually a lot lighter than you might think. So with the entire internal redesign making this possible, it feels significantly lighter. It may only be 7 grams on paper but it was noticeable that the fact we no longer had the added weight of the cable which wasn’t included in the masses overall weight before, that was an additional 40 grams bringing the total weight of the G502 Hero 261 grams versus now 114 grams on the Lightspeed, that’s definitely gonna be a lot more apparent now.

The extra change is you can add if you want to by the additional 16 grams from the optional weight set on the bottom of the mouse but probably not. There’s still the cutout in their sensor, we can put in for weights and then you can also put two weights in the little module on the bottom which is removable you can plug them in there and add some weight to the bottom of the mouse.

Logitech G903 Lightspeed

The G903 is an ambidextrous mouse. This means you can use the mouse even if you’re left-handed. This is something rare in gaming mice nowadays. Ambidextrous mice usually are not comfortable. Since they have to design them to fit left and right-handed users, however, Logitech managed to pull off a design that was able to provide great comfort for both.

I definitely love this mouse because it is very ergonomic and has a great build quality which means that it’s extremely durable.

FEATURES & PERFORMANCE:

Logitech G502 Lightspeed

Getting this powered on, working is as simple as turning on the power switch on the bottom then, you have two options for connectivity. On the bottom, there is also a spot for the removable power plate module and the bottom cover comes off where you could still take out these up with those optional weight sets. The cable used to be now has a micro USB slot for charging or you can just plug this in and use it wired if you want but uh don’t do that, the whole purpose is of the wireless mouse.

A braided cable is included inside the box for you. For those weights, it comes with this little carrying case inside here are the six weights. There are four two gram ones and two four-gram weights of the USB receiver in here and a USB extension plug.

The Hero sensor returns with the 100 to 16000 dpi capabilities. You have the adjustable report rate from 125 Hertz to 1,000 Hertz at one millisecond response time. The 32-bit ARM processor also allows for on-board storage, so if you bring this with you somewhere you’re gonna have your dpi settings or profiles and lighting all saved onto the mouse itself.

When I started playing with it, I had zero issues transitioning obviously. I got all my previous data from like the DPI settings, put them on here so it all matched and everything was with no issues. It’s been really great, very smooth, and it does feel lighter just not having that extra 40 grams of the cable on here, it’s gonna be immediately noticeable when you start gaming with this.

Logitech G903 Lightspeed

The G903 comes with up to 11 keys depending on how you set it up. They did that to let gamers set up the mouse for either their left or right hand. You can even make it have full side buttons if you love having a lot of buttons on your mouse but I think, this is a little bit overkill.

There are basic buttons to adjust the G903 dpi and switch between a smooth or step action on its wheel also the usual left and right controls. I found to be very useful about this mouse is that it lets you adjust the mouse’s wheel action, you can use the resistance-free mode to scroll through web pages faster and you can switch back when you’re gaming or doing something else which doesn’t require scrolling.

The mouse itself uses the PMW 3366 sensor which is one of the most accurate and precise sensors out there with a minimum sensitivity of 200 dpi and a maximum sensitivity of 12,000 dpi.

CONNECTIVITY OPTIONS:

Logitech G502 Lightspeed

Option one for connectivity is just using this USB with that receiver, you plug it into any available USB slot on your PC and it’ll pair automatically. The second is with the power play. Logitech has their power play mouse pad from 2017 and this essentially when paired with the G502 Lightspeed gives you endless power and battery life and then no need to use that USB receiver. So, good news for current power play users if you have the mouse pad or a current compatible Mouse, you can just essentially plug this into your PC and then once you have the power play module, you put it on the bottom of your mouse.

Then whenever you use this with the power play mouse pad, it’ll just automatically pair and connect for you. So, you don’t have to also have the USB receiver for the G502 Lightspeed and then also it’ll just be charging your mouse whenever you’re not using it, it’s the friction so whenever it’s on the surface of the powerplay mouse pad, your mouse will be charged. So, you can never run out of battery essentially.

Logitech G903 Lightspeed

If you’re using the G903 as a normal wireless mouse, you use the same USB dongle that Logitech is used on its other wireless devices for a few years now. On the other hand, if you’re using the G903 with power-play the mouse pad itself acts as your wireless receiver.

The performance is great in both cases and I can confidently say that you can easily compare this Mouse to a wired mouse and won’t notice any difference in polling rate, latency, or response time. It’s pretty much indistinguishable from any wide mouse I’ve ever used before.

BATTERY:

Logitech G502 Lightspeed

The battery life over USB without the power play is pretty damn impressive. You get 48 hours with the default RGB lighting and around 60 hours with no lights on. So, you can mess around with it, keep it simple like a static color maybe at half brightness, you’ll get it at around 50 plus hours. This lasts around a week depending on your gaming session.

Logitech G903 Lightspeed

One of the most annoying things about wireless mice is that you have to charge them very often. You won’t have that problem with the Logitech G903 because Logitech claims that the battery life can last for up to 30 hours depending on how you use it.

According to our tests, this was somewhat accurate and we think that it was more than enough since we put it to charge when we go to sleep anyway.

The Logitech G903’s newest feature is that it comes with the ability to wirelessly charge through a specialized mousepad called the Logitech power play. The pad essentially creates an electromagnetic resonance charging field which the mouse absorbs through a Power Core module that you can attach to the bottom of the mouse. This means that the mouse itself can pull enough electricity that the mouse can keep on going without you having to charge it. Not only that but it can even fully charge the mouse with battery in about 14 hours, this is great news for gamers since they don’t have to leave a chair anymore.

SOFTWARE:

Logitech G502 Lightspeed

We have the G Hub software and first is the lighting tab for picking your effects and the colors. You can do this for both the G logo and the DPI lights or sync them together or sync them with other Logitech G products. Next is the assignment tab or changing up the 11 programmable buttons anything from commands, keys, actions, macro-system controls, all that stuff.

You can also then go in and enable the G shift which is essentially like having a secondary command for these buttons on your mouse. Then, there is a DPI tab for customizing the five onboard DPI settings, easily adjust the speeds, and the report right there. You’ll notice up top, you can also have different profiles like for individual games and even some have their own like lighting integrations but light sync but this is G Hub, you’ve seen it before probably.

Logitech G903 Lightspeed

The Logitech software for his mouse provides many customizations and useful features. As this is an ambidextrous mouse, you can set it on the software in which you want to use. Also, every button is customizable, you can do everything via the G Hub software and manage the buttons as per your wish. The lighting effects are also can be set on the software.

The new technology which is called a PowerPlay can also be set in the software. This software will be very useful to use this mouse efficiently. Make sure you download the newest version of the software.

WHICH TO BUY?

Both the mouse is pretty similar but there are some major changes. If you’re right-handed then the G502 will be great to buy because in my opinion it’s better as a package, there fewer features comparatively but G502 costs $40 less than G903 but if you have more money to spend then you can give a try on G903 lightspeed. If you’re left-handed then definitely G903 will be good for you.
