Closed-back earcups are a bit of a science to get right. These wobbly, circa-30-degree twisters should, at least in theory, clamp down on a head of any shape. But we found an element of looseness, even after properly adjusting the decent ratcheted…

Logitech’s G533 doesn’t have quite the same breadth of options as the G933, but a more restrained design and a bargain price make this a strong contender for best wireless headset.

By IGN
There’s not much to complain about with the G533, as they are exceptional by practically every measure. They are comfy, offer superb audio for games and music, and the retractable microphone is simply brilliant. I just wish I could use them with my phone and my console like the Arctis 7 or Revolver S, then they’d be perfect.

The Logitech G533 wireless is a decent headset, but doesn’t stand out in a competitive market.

All in all, the Cloud Flight is a great accessory, but its what I’d classify as a one-trick pony. In a cool gaming environment, there’s no doubt the Cloud Flight brings impressive audio feedback and comfort to the table. Outside of that niche, it’s flaws, such as the sheer incompatibility with warm weather, are way more obvious. On that note, I find my trusty Audio Technica more suitable for general-purpose use.

While certainly worthy of consideration, HyperX hasn’t cracked the formula like it did with the HyperX Cloud Alpha – at least not yet, anyways. I’m looking forward to see HyperX does with its next iteration of wireless headset, I have a feeling it could be one to look out for.

By PCworld
HyperX’s debut wireless headset is missing some key features, like chat mix and microphone monitoring, but it looks good, sounds great, and feels excellent. Another contender for our $150 headset pick.

Detail Review:

INTRODUCTION:

Logitech G533

The design and comfort is pretty good in the headset but most of the people didn’t like the glossy finish on the sides of the ear cups. The sound of the mic is just okay and the headset audio is good enough.

HyperX Cloud Flight

Everything is good in this headset. For this price range the different design, good comfort, amazing sound and all the other things are good enough.

DESIGN:

Logitech G533

It is quite plasticky but that’s not to say is a bad construction. It’s a little bit flexible not a lot but at the same time, it doesn’t feel cheap with the style. I really like the way the design is going here, the majority of the top of the headband is a matte finish and then the logo in gloss but on the side of their ear cups, you’ve actually is like fingerprint magnet which got more of a gloss. These simple but stylish.

HyperX Cloud Flight

HyperX decided to do go lightweight, go with a completely different design and almost kind of mirrored the HyperX cloud stinger as far as build quality. The reason is because the outside is a completely plastic build, now I think they did that to keep it really lightweight. Although I thought the other HyperX clouds when they’re on your head, always felt light, it may have something to do with the wireless and being able to run the cable.

COMFORT:

Logitech G533

Now one thing I noticed instantly when handling, just how far these twists around. This is actually a good thing. So, if you want to rest these from your ears and just have them around your neck so that’s a really good feature.

The padding are soft but it’s almost like touching a dry sponge which is much like in my favor. Although they are very soft which should be quite comfortable to wear. As for comfort ability, it is comfortable but it certainly isn’t the most comfortable headset I’ve worn.

HyperX Cloud Flight

As far as comfort goes that’s the one thing HyperX can easily say they’re one of the best if not the best and these aren’t any different. They keep these similar ear cushions that are on the HyperX cloud series again as far as a headset goes. You can use this one for any long hours and it’s not going to give you any kind of fatigue, it’s just a very lightweight headset. One of the things I do want to point is with the original HyperX I had no problem stretching them out and twisting them.

Now with the plastic build, it just makes me a little bit leery about doing that, you can stretch it out and twist it and I really think they’re going to be okay.

FEATURES:

Logitech G533

They are within the higher tier of PC gaming headsets but they’re certainly not the most expensive. They are 7.1 surround sound. So, expensive cinematic gaming with Pro G audio driver technology and 7.1 DTS headphone extra round sound. It will give you up to 15 hours of battery life. There’s a little asterisk there so that’s battery life measured at 50% volume and a 15 meter wireless range which is pretty good. There’s a soft sports mesh ear cups are comfortable for long gaming sessions and can be removed for cleaning that’s pretty good. The compatibility is for Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, and Windows 7 and you will need a USB port.

The headphones driver is a pro G 40 millimeter. We’ve got frequency response between 20 Hertz to 20 kilohertz, the impedance is 32 ohms, sensitivity 107 decibels, charging cable lengths 2 meters that’s a pretty good length. The wireless range is 15 meters with a microphone. The mic pattern is a cardioid Unidirectional type pressure gradient, Electric condenser and the size 4 millimeter and frequency response 100 hertz to 20 kilohertz.

There’s absolutely nothing on the right ear cup but on the left, you have a microphone which drops down and it also extends out and provides a bit of flex there which is just quite a unique compared to the other headsets. Then, on the bottom you have the micro USB port, they’re connecting to your PC or charging. We also have a volume wheel as well as the on and off, an LED indicator, and the G button which is for the muting of the microphone.

To start the set up wirelessly, you have to insert the wireless adapter into your PC then press and hold a pin through the pin hole until the adapter flashes. Then, you have to turn on the headset and hold the G button down for fifteen seconds until it goes through the pairing mode. Also, once paired you will need to download the Logitech Gaming software to read the full benefits of this headset such as the 7.1 audio.

When it comes to headset features there isn’t really much cover. The controls are just basic, you have a volume wheel and a G button which by default mutes the microphone that you can assign it to a different command if you wish.

HyperX Cloud Flight

There’s a wireless USB dongle, this is what makes the whole thing work. Now, it works wirelessly with your PC and your ps4 and that includes your ps4 Pro but it does not work wirelessly, supposedly on the Xbox one. Other accessories included is the micro USB cable for charging but it does get 30 hours of battery life, that’s what it says on the box. The way that explains it is if you use it at 50 percent volume, you’ll get thirty hours of battery life and that’s also saying that you don’t use the LED lights on the outside but if you do listen to it louder and you use the LED light, your battery life is going to be less than 30 hours.

It also comes with a three-and-a-half millimeter auxiliary cord that way you can use them plugged into your Xbox one, your switch. You can also use it plugged into your phone but to use it wirelessly, remember you can only use the USB dongle. The only other attachment is the microphone cable, it’s very bendable and it’s very rugged.

Now your left and right of the headset are marked on the outside, right above the cable which is exposed but HyperX did this right. They didn’t have it loose on the inside or loose on the outside, it’s just barely hanging there but it’s almost flushed with the headset itself. The extensions on headset are metal and I think that is what makes it feel a lot more sturdier than it looks and then it feels when you have them in your hand.

Now, branding on this is pretty minimal and HyperX is really good at that. The color combination of this headset is black and red. This the normal color of the Hyperx and I think it will be good if they offer also any other color options and combinations. Now, on the top there’s HyperX branding and on each side whenever the headset is powered up, you will see that the HyperX logo lights up. It lights up red and it doesn’t give you any RGB color options.

For your controls, on the right hand side the only control is your volume wheel, you can adjust it by turning it all the way up. Now, on the left ear cup is where your mic muted is just simply by tapping the ear cup itself. You have your power button, headphone input, microUSB cable and then the mic input.

MICROPHONE:

Logitech G533

The microphone automatically turns itself on when you flip it down and vice versa. There’s miniature pop filter in the mic rather than having a standard pop filter on the end of the mic. Also, it works good and reduces the background noises well. It also cut down the P and S sounds little bit. We can say that this mic works as average.

HyperX Cloud Flight

It is a decent microphone, it’s not anything that I have honestly think you can go out and broadcast with but definitely do 18 party chat or be able to play online and people are gonna hear you clearly. I noticed that it was a little tinny. I think bass was in the tones, it’s not picking up as as well as you would like in most headsets but as far as for HyperX, I think this microphone is just kind of on par with the rest of their headsets.

SOUND:

Logitech G533

The software has a brilliant 7.1 surround sound, you hear the directional sounds with almost pinpoint position. It really is incredible and for those bass lovers out there, you will not be disappointed. For the wireless range of the headset, even when I am quite far away from the wireless adapter the audio quality is actually really good.

The sound is almost like the sound of G633 or G933 headset. But, the sound of the G533 headset is little bit much brighter than the other competitors. Also, you can adjust the sound of the headset as per your preference in the G hub software of Logitech.

HyperX Cloud Flight

I wish that the headset got just a little bit louder with PC or ps4, I just felt like it could use another notch that’s nitpicking. It still is plenty loud but I just wish it had a little more volume.

This one is HyperX best headset, it’s almost like having the HyperX cloud alpha but the wireless version. As far as sound goes, again just a little bit more volume I would have been completely happy. These are not surround sound, they are stereo but when these are on and you’re gaming, you will have no problem picking up where everybody is located. This blows away any wireless headset that I’ve tried and any wireless surround sound headset that I’ve tried and again positional awareness, it’s one of the best that I’ve heard.

Now as far as the liveliness of the sound, the sound signature is not flat by any means. I felt like treble is peaked a little bit, the mids are really forward, vocals come through really clear and the bass is incredible. The bass is really punchy but tight, it didn’t feel sloppy and it didn’t feel bloated. Now, this is not a shake your head type of bass, it is very clean. The sound is very clean and that is really important with gaming because again you want to hear absolutely everything.

Now, with music that is where the surprise came in. I knew as a gaming headset that this was going to be the way to go but as far as music with my PC listening to it wirelessly, it was amazing and it really was incredible to go through my music list and just try different genres and try different songs and just hear them in a different way. It just had a clarity and a life to it that just opens your music collection up.

CONCLUSION:

Logitech G533

All in all, this is definitely a headset to consider. Pretty much everything about it is just really good. The design is bit bulky but otherwise the comfort and the overall design is simple and good and also stylish. The sound and performance of the headset is also good enough for the price. The mic is also good enough for any casual use like gaming, web chat, and skype calls etc,.

HyperX Cloud Flight

If you’re in the market for a wireless headset, for this price, this headset sounded better in my opinion and definitely just just so much more comfortable and lightweight. These are the ones that I’m going to recommend if anybody is looking for a wireless gaming headset. This pretty much destroys everything else that I’ve tried. You’re basically getting a studio sounding headset, you’re able to pick apart different things and have a really good awareness and open sound for a closed back type of headphone and wireless for thi price range.
