Detail Review

INTRODUCTION:

Logitech G703 Lightspeed

This is a very simple mouse with some good features and functions which are enough for good gaming. The price of this mouse is also very reasonable and then it will be a good package if you want a simple wireless mouse with no latency.

Logitech G305 Lightspeed

This mouse is very simple and has basic features for gaming. It’s that much simple that it doesn’t have any RGB lighting. Also, it is priced very low compared to other mouses’ of Logitech, the reason is it’s very simple and this will be good for them who want a simple wireless mouse for gaming.

DESIGN & COMFORT:

Logitech G703 Lightspeed

There’s not really a whole lot special about the mouse. It’s a very simple Mouse nothing really crazy going on with the design. It’s got a nice matte finish on it. The RGB is really simple too but why do I think that this mouse is one of the most comfortable gaming mice. I think it’s because this mouse is designed to be extremely ergonomic and it really is. It’s a pretty big Mouse, my hand fits very comfortably over it, and really don’t feel like I don’t have a place to put any of my fingers.

The design is extremely simple and comfortable. I do wish that there was a third side button like the Rival 600, so that’s like the one gripe that I will give this Mouse but literally everything else is praised because it’s extremely good.

Logitech G305 Lightspeed

This thing shares a lot of the same things as the G Pro, so the size and the shape are practically identical. It comes in at 116.6 mm long, 62.15 mm wide, and 38.2 mm high. The only thing included in the box is an alkaline AA battery and an extender for the wireless receiver.

The body here is all matte plastic and the shape is super safe. It looks to be ambidextrous but the thumb buttons only appearing on the left side of the mouse, so left-hand users cannot use this one. It feels equally comfortable in the left hand as it does on right. There’s maybe a little angle to the mouse that makes the right side just a touch higher. It seems like the sides would benefit from some kind of rubberized coating but as soon as you start using the mouse, you realize that the lightweight pretty much makes that a point.

Now, one thing to note is that there’s absolutely no RGB on this mouse anywhere, matter of fact the only LED indicator you get at all right behind the scroll wheel to indicate when you first turn the mouse on or which DPI setting you’ve selected. This was done both to conserve battery life and weight.

The G305 with the included AA battery, you’re looking at about 96 grams on my scale. If you swap that out with a lithium-ion battery, now not only are you gonna get way crazier battery life but it’s gonna knock the total weight of that package down to around 88 grams. Even though both the G Pro and G305 mice share practically identical internals, the G305 felt instantly comfortable in-game and played exactly like the G403.

It’s got a safe comfortable shape, it’s got amazing battery life, a lag-free top-performing sensor in weight of under 100 grams which can be made much lighter depending on how far you want to take. The design is also as aesthetically comfortable in a work environment as it would be in a game environment. It’s perfect for your laptop bag, it even has storage for the wireless receiver and all this comes in at a reasonable price. So, this is an easy Mouse to recommend for the majority of gamers but if you like a heavier Mouse then obviously you don’t have to buy this one.

FEATURES & PERFORMANCE:

Logitech G703 Lightspeed

Now, this doesn’t use the same sensor from the G Pro and the G502 Hero but honestly, I really could not tell the difference. The tracking is flawless, I really didn’t experience any issues. The liftoff distance was fine, it just works well.

I do like the feel of the buttons, they do have mechanical tensions. It feels like mechanical buttons in your mouse and they’re really good, they’re super sensitive, clicky, loud, and they spring back extremely quick. At the bottom of the mouse, there is a slot for a ten-gram weight if you an extra weight on your mouse for heavier. The weight of this mouse feels very similar to the wireless Rival 650. I don’t think it’s too heavy and I wish it was a little bit lighter.

This mouse is for someone that is used to using wired mice or is looking to get rid of some of the clutter and they’re set up and they don’t want to compromise signal strength and latency for going wireless, this thing does have a 1 millisecond response time to the receiver and you’ll be plugging the receiver fairly close to the mouse, it’s probably lower than that but it’s really quick. You really cannot tell the difference if you’re using a wired mouse or a wireless mouse when you will use this one.

Logitech G305 Lightspeed

We’ve got a wireless small-form-factor gaming mouse that’s available in either white or black, a basic six-button configuration, great feeling triggers, scroll wheel.

The buttons on the G305 are rated for 10 million clicks versus the 20 million you’ll get with the G Pro and they feel great, very crisp, very even, perfect tension. The scroll wheel is textured, it’s got a tactile feel than the G403 and it depresses easier as well. It has a standard six-button layout with a single button to toggle through your DPI settings and like all Logitech mice can be reconfigured until your content in the Logitech Gaming software.

The way they accomplished this is with the Hero sensor, Hero sensor or high efficiency rated optical functions practically the same as the PWM 3366 which is an optical sensor. The only difference here is that hero does it with ten times the power efficiency of the 3366. It means you’re gonna get a sensor that goes between 200 and 12000 DPI with spot-on accuracy at velocities of over 400 IPS. So, it’s got an even higher top speed than the G Pro. Logitech has proven their Wireless light speed technology from time to time, and using the G305 in competitive play, I can’t discern any lag at all.

The battery compartment can be accessed by sliding the top shelf back and off of the body. Inside, you’ll obviously find your AA battery but you’ll also find storage for your wireless receiver. The only miss is that the wireless receiver isn’t labeled, if it’s labeled then it really helps when you have multiple wireless peripherals that use similarly shaped receivers and you have them all in one place for storage.

BATTERY:

Logitech G703 Lightspeed

This mouse is compatible with the power play Mouse pad. If you’re okay with having a smaller Mouse pad and don’t want to worry about plugging it in to charge it that’s the way that you can do that. I was using it for about four days and the battery didn’t die during those four days. This happened because the RGB are so simple, they’re not really draining that much power. I think that’s a really good sign as far as longevity, you shouldn’t really have to worry about charge maybe if you’re a light gamer. If you’re a really heavy gamer maybe once a week, you do have to charge.

Logitech G305 Lightspeed

Battery life for a single AA alkaline battery is rated at 250 hours for a report rate of one millisecond. Logitech also says this battery will go a total of 9 months under regular use if you use an 8-millisecond report rate or what they call endurance mode.

WHICH TO BUY?

The 703 mouse is the simple one but with some modern features and basic gaming features and customizations. You have to pay a lot if you compare this one with G305. Most Logitech mice include some sort of additional or adjustable weight system but you won’t find that in the G305. If you like a lot of flashes where you place aesthetics right up there with performance, also be a miss for you. It’s not bad by any means but it doesn’t have RGB on top of it. If you have small to average-sized hands then this will be the best-suited mouse for you.

In my opinion, both the mouse worked well but there is a price gap of about $40 dollars. It means the G703 is double the price of the G305. So if you want a simple wireless mouse with basic features and a basic sensor then you should buy G305, then it will also be in our budget. But, it doesn’t offer you RGB or some extra features. If you want a new charging system with powerplay and some more conveniences then G703 will be good but you have to spend more money.

And that’s one of the keys to the Logitech G703 gaming mouse: it’s so flexible, and so easily switchable between modes. It exhibits all the mousy goodness one could want. However, while I’m neither here nor there about whether my mouse is wireless or wired, if you’re keen on being untethered, I’d recommend getting the PowerPlay pad as well.
