Detail Review:

INTRODUCTION:

Logitech K780

The Logitech K780 is a multi-device keyboard and this keyboard is made to connect multiple devices. So, you can connect up to three devices using the three buttons right there up on the left corner of the keyboard. So, you can have your laptop connected, a phone, a computer, altogether. This keyboard is retailing for around a hundred and seven dollars currently.

Logitech K580

The Logitech K580 is a minimalist quiet wireless keyboard. Logitech created a variety of keyboards made for specific things. They created a keyboard for Mac and also for Windows but this one is for both Windows and Mac. This keyboard is retailing for around forty-six dollars currently on Amazon.

DESIGN:

Logitech K780

This keyboard is a full-size keyboard, so it comes with your standard keyboard and it also comes with a number pad on the side there. Right out of the box, this thing feels pretty heavy at first sight. It’s pretty hefty, it feels like a pretty high-quality keyboard overall. There are some rubber pads there that hold the keyboard to the desk and they are on every corner, and there’s also a mini one right there at the bottom in the middle. The keyboard will not be sliding around by any means while you’re using this. There is a part engraved in the keyboard, that is made to put your devices on there. This speaker is 12 inches long about a foot, so you can put a phone on there and a tablet if that’s a setup that you wish to go with. I don’t think the keyboard comes off of the rubber piece in case you’re wondering.

As far as the keyboard layout, the number pad is there on the left side, the arrow keys are there just below the shift button, so this keyboard is actually shorter compared to those keyboards with the arrow keys in the middle but it’s much larger compared to those wireless keyboards without the number pad. The keys on the Logitech K780 are standard size, the sizes are similar to the keys on the Logitech K810. The keys however are circular not like the squarish or rectangular sizes you can find on other keyboards.

Logitech K580

The keyboard looks sleek and slim if it’s on top of my desk. As far as the build quality on this, it’s made out of plastic. It’s not low quality but it’s not a super high quality either, so don’t expect much. On the back also, you can feel that it’s made out of plastic. It has a nice hump to elevate the keyboard up a bit for a more ergonomic typing experience. It also has a nice spot where you can hold it and carry it with you. It’s not heavy and it fits just nicely on the bag. There are also rubber grips that prevent the keyboard from sliding on the desk. The gray bar is also plastic but has that glossier finish. The gray bar has a tray where you can put your phone, a small tablet, or maybe a pen. I like this because this is a multi-device keyboard.

There are also some more buttons provided like the volume control, brightness, and other function keys which are really easy to use. It has a numeric keypad on the right, which makes the keyboard a bit longer. There is no disconnection even on standby even when your laptop is shut down, you just need to open it up and it connects so fast. So, if you need the Bluetooth keyboard for your laptop, desktop, tablet, or phone, you will be very satisfied with this keyboard.

Logitech K580

FEATURES:

Logitech K780

You can connect up to three devices to your K780 and switch between them using the numbered buttons on the top left corner. Normally, adding a device is as simple as pressing and holding a key and finding the keyboard on your device. You’ll then need to type in a numerical keycode on the keyboard, and you are done. When you open the box, you’ll find the keyboard has two AAA batteries, a USB receiver, and user documentation.

This is a multi-operating system keyboard, which means it has a command key that is made for Mac and it’s also used for Windows. The way you open the battery compartment back there is you have to push it down pretty hard so just like that you hear a click and it comes off, and there’s the Unifying receiver right there it’s just a little storage compartment, very convenient, and it runs on two AAA batteries which last for 24 months. To connect this keyboard to a device, there are a few ways to do it and the instructions are on the box. So, what you need to do is go to the back of the keyboard and open it and then you can use the Unifying receiver or Bluetooth to connect it.

The way you connect the device is you need to hold the button for three seconds in pairing mode, and then it takes you through the pairing process. Actually, to connect this keyboard to the computer, we’re gonna need to select the profile, then you need to hit it, you will see it blinking which means it’s trying to pair with the device when it’s blinking. So, once it’s pairing, you open your Bluetooth settings up on your device, select keyboard and if I click the connect button here it’s asking me to type in a code on the keyboard I’m to connect and then push enter, it will ask you to click the digits on the screen followed by entering, and then click connect.

Logitech K580

When you open up the box, you will see this keyboard inside, and under the gray bar on the keyboard is where you will find the USB Type-A dongle. The first impression on the packaging is that this one is a low-profile layout. It’s simple and it doesn’t really stand out in any way. You can connect your phone to the keyboard for easier typing. You can remove the gray bar on top of the keyboard and inside that, you can see the USB Type-A dongle and also two AAA batteries which are also included and there is also a power button.

This keyboard is rated for 24 months for two years it means you won’t be changing your batteries that often. I’m not sure if there are keyboards that last up to two years on battery life but this one does. Logitech designed it in the way that it doesn’t use up much power and it has an auto-sleep feature when not in use and the keys are not backlit it would be a nice option though. As far as the typing experience, it is not the best in the world but it does have a good key journey and good to use. The keys are flat and pretty basic but very functional. The mechanism is quiet but it can be clicky if you wanted to. Typing on it feels familiar, the bottom seems to be placed on areas they should be, I didn’t have many errors typing on it, and I like how good the key travel is.

PERFORMANCE:

Logitech K780

As far as the typing experience, this clicking noise out of this is not much, this definitely won’t bother people around your environment if that’s something you have a concern with. The batteries on this will last up to twenty-four months which is two years as the box claims which is really amazing and makes this keyboard a hassle-free experience.

Logitech K580

The keyboard can be used by both Windows and Apple laptops with a start and command button provided at the bottom left of the keyboard. It doesn’t seem to disconnect from my laptop and tablet when I use it even coming from a sleep mode or standby. The connection is pretty solid and very responsive. This is a multi-device keyboard it means you can connect up to two different devices. All you have to do is press the button to switch from device one to device two and it is very convenient and fast.

WHICH TO BUY?

In my opinion, the Logitech K580 is good to buy if you want a budget-friendly keyboard because at a lower price it does have quite similar features as the K780 except the K780 allows three devices to connect while the K580 allows only two dives. If you can afford the price of the K780, then you can buy the K780, it does have quite good features for the price.
