The packaging of this mouse is very straightforward nothing fancy about it. The mouse is definitely value for money. The mouse is cheap and quite easy to use. It is a simple, reliable mouse with a plug-and-play wireless mouse. It comes with a 3-year limited hardware warranty. There is the reliability of a cord with wireless convenience and freedom fast data transmission and virtually no delays or dropouts.

Logitech M317

The Logitech M317 comes in almost all different colors and patterns. Basically, all are of the same size. They’re great for a laptop. In the box, the mouse comes with the battery, the paper, and, the little USB port in the box. This Logitech Unifying receiver connects up to six unifying compatible devices. The mouse is easy to slip into a bag whenever you want to take it with you.

On top of the mouse, there is the Logitech logo. It’s ergonomic and has a contoured shape which is good. The mouse looks nice and very simple. It has a sequel tone color. Black remains constant in mouse but the frame comes in 3 different colors i.e. grey, red, and, blue.

The mouse is designed for both right and left-handed people. The mouse is quite small for the big handed people. The comfort and control of this mouse are good. But still, it fits really nice in the hand.

Logitech M317

This mouse has a nice ergonomic design which provides the best comfort to the hand. The Logitech M317 is available in different colors and designs. They also have other simple designs, the black ones too, but it’s all the same thing. This mouse is really easy and simple to use. 

M317 is a wireless mouse. This mouse is portable and precise. The touch wheel of this mouse is very soft and comfortable due to its soft rubber grips. The mouse is a little bit small. Due to its ambidextrous shape, both left and right-handed people can use it easily.

On top of the mouse, there are 3 buttons. The left and right-click feels good. The scroll is quite clicky. Logitech M185 is very compact and portable. On the backside of the mouse, there is an on and off switch. There is an icon there showing that the wireless dongle is inside, including the battery. There is a tab there which is intuitive, you have to pull that out.  The wireless dongle is also there, that is one of the good point about this that when you’re not using it, you can put it inside the mouse. So, you’re not going to lose it, if you’re not using the wireless dongle.

The mouse has an invisible optic sensor. So, if you turn on or off it shows no light as the optical sensor is invisible. There is a green and red sticker under the on and off button switch through which you will come to know that the mouse is on or off.

The wireless connection of this mouse is 33feet and 10meters strong from the laptop or computer device whichever you are using. The mouse is great and reliable. The cursor control of this mouse is smooth and accurate. This mouse is compatible with Windows 10 or later, Windows 8, Windows 7, Mac OS by 10.10 or later, Chrome OS, and  Linux kernel 2.6+.

The mouse is very light in weight. It is a little mouse just with 3 buttons.

The scroll wheel is used just like a regular mouse. On the backside of the mouse, there is the on and off switch, which you just have to slide easily to turn on and off. It has four grips at the bottom for holding the mouse properly in its place. The 4 grips are the good part of the mouse because, if it didn’t have that it would be super slippery at the time of using it, especially when you might not have a mousepad.

The setup of this mouse is easy. In order to make the mouse work, you have to plug the USB into the computer. This mouse is very similar to a regular Mouse that has a wire that’s connected to the computer. It’s just the convenience of wireless, if you want to just have it connected to a tablet or a laptop and if you prefer a wireless mouse over a regular metal then it’s perfect for that and super convenient.

The Logitech M317 has a 12-month battery life, which is perfect. It uses a single AA battery which will be pre-installed in the mouse. The battery life may vary based on user and computing conditions. There is a battery compartment for the battery on the backside of the mouse. The smart sleep mode extends battery life.

WHICH TO BUY

Logitech M185 and M317 both mice have the same DPI resolution i.e. 1000. Both the mice are featured with Advanced optical tracking. So, both use the same sensor which indicates that both the mice will give the same performance and both are equally fast. The battery life of both the mice is up to 12 months, which is again the same. The Logitech M317 is more expensive than the M185 as it is the newer version. The design of M317 is best looking compare to M185. M317 has a nice shape and it is available in more than 10 different colors and patterns. While M185 does not feature anything special, it has a simple design and no variety in colors.

Logitech M317 is much better than the M185 though it is expensive, but is a new version, while M185 is a bit outdated but is budget-friendly. If you want more options in colors and patterns and a new version then go for M317. But, if you want a simple mouse and a cheap mouse then go for M185.
