This Logitech M720 Triathlon is a great alternative mouse for MX Master with some little differences. This is maybe the cheapest best productive mouse for you.

Logitech M590 Multi-Device Silent

The M590 is not cheap, it is a mid-range priced mouse. It is a well-placed mouse for the features it offers but most of the features may look fancy for general computer use. If you are a person depends on using mouse and keyboard shortcut based applications a lot, then this mouse will be graded for you.

DESIGN & COMFORT:

This device actually looks so modern and minimal. The mouse has a grey rubber surface which is smooth to the touch which makes it feel very premium. The bottom is white plastic with some black rubber pads, this gives such a premium and unique look.

The shape of the mouse itself perfectly fits hands even with little over average size hands. It was perfectly fine and I think most people should be absolutely fine with using a device like this. It weighs about 135 grams which is a little bit on the heavy side but it allowed to have a lot more accurate and precise points when using a computer.

Logitech M590 Multi-Device Silent

The M590 is entirely made of plastic and rubber and looks unprofessional on aesthetics with visible mold lines but the mouse free study and rigid. The ergonomics of the mouse are on the point which gives great comfort on extensive usage. The mouse is compact and uses great fit but not very compact as I wish.

The package itself includes a bit of instruction, the mouse, a AA battery, it’s a nice inclusion from Logitech and a unifying receiver. Logitech M720 Triathlon is also compatible with Bluetooth and where it gets its name from is that it connects up to three Bluetooth devices which you can seamlessly switch in between with the press of a button.

The Logitech M720 features a hyper scroll wheel. This is a fantastic feature and it’s a little unlimited scroll toggle which you found very useful in website scrolling back to the top and it basically unlocks the wheel. So, it’s like one of those bearings where you spin it for an unlimited amount of time and until the motion stops. You can also switch this back to a normal mouse mode with a click of the button at the top.

The mouse also has side-scrolling which you found to be excellent for navigating spreadsheets on Excel and editing videos. I found this is actually a really good speed boost and adding to your productivity. This mouse has three customizable buttons, you thought that the third button was the third customizable button that button is meant for switching your Bluetooth devices. The third customizable button is actually not really a button, it’s just a little line at the bottom of the left-hand side of the mouse. what this is that you can hold on this button and use the sensor underneath the mouse to perform certain actions on your screen and you can perform any task you wish and it is completely customizable on the Logitech Options app.

With the new Logitech options app, you can customize anything you want from every single button to what the scroll wheel does and to what this gesture pad does.

The mouse also does feature smart management which you can toggle on and off in the Logitech Options app. What it does is that when you are not using your mouse, it automatically switches off, and then when you come to use it again it will start working again with a little bit of lag about a one-second delay. You can switch this off in the while you take options app and reduce the time for when it will automatically switch off when you’re not using it.

The M590 has to ways of connections: Bluetooth and a unifying USB wireless receiver. On the left-hand side, there are two buttons and three buttons left, right, and center on the scrolling wheel but the five buttons can be customized to any shortcut or function to Logitech Options software.

The real takeaway of the mouse, the M590 has a silent click. It is very hard to notice a click or is called by the mouse. The five customizable buttons on the mouse which improve the productivity plus all the five buttons can be customized to a specific shortcut for the future when it is in a different app. For example, now I’m in Photoshop, I have assigned the side buttons to increase and decrease the brush size. When switch to Final Cut Pro, the same button is used to zoom in and zoom out the timeline, like with all the five buttons that can be customized to a different shortcut key or future when on different apps.

The users are switching the connections with the button on the front will make life easier using multiple computers. As a special feature that is a feature called flow from Logitech. What it does is copy and paste a file or a text from a different platform device when the mouse is set up with the same network. It only copies a very small size file.

BATTERY:

Logitech M720 Triathlon

The mouse comes with very generous by Logitech, a AA battery. Logitech claims that the mouse would last 24 months on a single charge. Unfortunately, it does not have any form of port or USB-C charging that you can do to the plugin but I think this is not a problem because as they have come 2 years on this mouse.

Logitech M590 Multi-Device Silent

The mouse is powered by a AA battery which gives a battery life of many months. Also, that is a holder for the USB receiver under the battery cover.

WHICH TO BUY?

Both these mouse are nice and maybe work well for some people. In my opinion, the Logitech M720 is a good productive mouse and looks professional than the Logitech M590, so it will be better to buy the M720 mouse. Even the price of both of these mouse is the same.
