Detail Review:

INTRODUCTION:

Marshall Stockwell II

The Marshall is an iconic brand in the music industry, they’re known for making guitars, amps, and such but how about the Bluetooth speaker arena. This Bluetooth speaker is priced at two hundred and forty-nine dollars, this is somewhat pricey I will admit that but in the realm of a more lifestyle product, it might not be too bad.

Marshall Emberton

Marshall Emberton is one of those speakers ranges from marshall that includes the Stockwell and Killburn series, speakers. This is the great portable speaker from Marshall that literally has less weight to it. This speaker is retailing for around a hundred and fifty dollars currently on Amazon.

DESIGN:

Marshall Stockwell II

As far as the physical features, first, this thing was much smaller than I thought. This thing is very portable, it’s really thin as well. The Stockwell 2 also comes with the guitar-inspired carrying strap which looks really good right here with that red velvety lining on the inside. On the front and also, on the back here Marshall did use a very solid metal mesh, I love the pattern and I love the look and not only does it look good but it’s functional as well in protecting the drivers behind there. The entire body or the rest of the body here is made of silicone, it looks and feels really good in the hands, the silicone itself gives a very grippy texture there are also reinforced end caps on every corner to make this thing feel a little bit more robust.

Taking a closer look the knobs are also a nod to the music industry and also, their amps the knobs are very much quality made with a rubber contact for your fingers here making them ultra-grippy but that click feels ultra-satisfying. You can make adjustments on the fly as well for bass and treble and that battery level indicator on the far right there is really nice touch. Compared to other speakers that might have only one light this here offers an entire stack and it helps out big time. What you will notice though this thing is lacking pause, play, skipping, going back buttons.

Marshall Emberton

As far as the design, it looks stylish having that white solid metal grille and the classic Marshall logo on it which also resembles the classic amplifiers from Marshall that look beautiful. On the top, you will find the multi-directional control knob by which you can pause, skip tracks, and control the volume. There on the left side, you have the Bluetooth button, for the connection or to connect new devices. On the right side of the top is where you have got the LED bars that indicate the charge left on your speaker. Its build quality is durable and rugged and it weighs only around 1.5 pounds, so you are not going to struggle in taking this out with you anywhere.

FEATURES:

Marshall Stockwell II

Keep in mind, there are no drop or shock-resistant claims either. This is road-worthy as Marshall puts it but I’m sure it’s against abrasion and maybe some bumps here and there. the speaker is also IP4 rated meaning this can take on splashes from any direction, it can’t take on water jet spray so don’t hose this thing down. For the price, it would have been nice to have a higher rating since their competitors they’re not going for that lifestyle look or so but they simply offer more, some of them can even be completely submerged. The splash resistance might be enough for your use, with my testing of splashing water on this thing it’s been absolutely fine, and it still functions.

If you’re spending several hundred dollars on new devices, you might as well future proof yourself by buying devices that have USB-C, and this speaker does charge via USB-C. The Marshall is claiming up to 20 hours of battery life on this thing. Based on my test that 50% volume playing a medley of genres I stopped at 25 hours as they were still 50% battery remaining as per the meter up top there on the speaker. At a very respectable/loud and enjoyable 80% volume, I got 19 hours in 26 minutes worth of performance. This might be the first-ever Bluetooth speaker on the channel that offers this feature here the Stockwell-II provides quick charging just 20 minutes on that charger and you get acclaimed six hours back.

As far as Bluetooth performance, Marshall includes Bluetooth 5.0. As far as the signal strength, it is considered as excellence with me having the ability to walk about 99% of my apartment here without the signal dropping. The signal is going through several walls and for reference, I’m at about 1,100 square feet and a single floor as well. Testing the Stockwell II on both Android and iPhone, Netflix, YouTube, and Twitch, that is played with no syncing issues on either device, another positive in that aspect. You can indeed pair two devices at the same time, there’s no need to unpair one phone and then repair it with another phone and maybe a laptop, PC what-have-you that’s another positive.

There is no built-in microphone, so you can’t take phone calls with this which might be a bummer for some. Marshall is claiming to provide 360-degree audio,o how did they do this since the speakers are only on the front and on the rear here it’s called the Alan Blumlein stereo sound, this will channel audio to be perceived as if the sound is blasting from all directions which are quite impressive.

Marshall Emberton

As far as the waterproofing, the Emberton has an IPX rating of 7 which is like you can put it under like a meter of water for up to 30 minutes, so you want to take a bath with it you can do that. The Stockwell has an IPX of 4 and the Kilburn has like a 2, so not quite as much. It probably is kind of expensive to make these things waterproof not gonna lie, gaskets, and stuff are not cheap all right. It has 20 hours of battery life, it has quite a stylish design to it, great build quality, and has got lightweight to it. It has a very quick and smooth Bluetooth connection.

Marshall Emberton was in the market in the third quarter of 2020. I have been using Marshall Emberton for around five months, so far it was a great music companion and it doesn’t disappoint. As far as the battery performance, it has a very splendid 20 hours of battery and I use to charge this once a week. It could last around nine days and I use this at a normal rate maybe around 2 hours a day or may while watching a movie. What I noticed a good thing about this speaker is that, if you are not using the speaker for a couple of minutes, it gets turned off automatically, this is one of the reasons why it saves battery.

Doesn’t have much styling but honestly, I found that it’s actually the most functional one of all. The new gold interface button they put on there allows you to fast-forward, pause, control, turn up and down your volume, directly on the device versus having to go in your phone which is really annoying especially, if you’re like at a party you don’t want to be the person with the phone that has total control.

SOUND QUALITY:

Marshall Stockwell II

I’m usually playing this at about 75 percent volume and that’s usually enough to fill up a small room to about medium-sized open areas. Large open living rooms and such will still have loud audio but it’s not as room-filling which is quite impressive for again such a thin speaker. I did notice though at 50% volume, it does sound very low, between 60 to 70 percent that’s good for casual listening, and at 75 percent and higher that’s enough to really get you into the music.

Marshall Emberton

Despite its average size, the speaker sounds surprisingly rich, clear, loud, and solid. In my opinion, Marshall always delivers good sound quality and it never disappoints. It features 360 degrees multi-directional sound with deep solid bass. If you are a bass lover, you will definitely love this. This speaker does sound better than Marshall Stockwell II for its size. It gives great sound quality and also great bass. The only con about the sound quality is that when you watch a movie using this the sound quality of the bass is extremely loud and you may prefer to lower the volume at times but still, it con a huge con at all.

Marshall Emberton

WHICH ONE IS WORTH BUYING?

In my opinion, Marshall Emberton is worth buying than the Stockwell II because the Emberton is an all-around great portable speaker, and without any doubt, you can buy this as it sounds really great for its size even better than the Stockwell II. It is a nice speaker for its size, its price, and it very easy to carry around as it has very lightweight.
