Expert Review of Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2:

By The Verge
Their premium price (and, for some, the touch controls) mean they won’t be for everyone. But if you’re after a pair of truly wireless earbuds that come close to matching the quality of a premium pair of noise-canceling over-ear headphones, then Sennheiser’s Momentum True Wireless 2 are easy to recommend.

By TrustedReviews
While its previous true wireless was a solid pair, Sennheiser gets it right at the second attempt. While ANC is rather light, paired with a good fit and volume control and they keep away a good deal of noise. The real star is the audio quality: expressive, lush, and enjoyable, the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 are one of the best pairs on the market.

By Engadget
Sennheiser’s second-generation true wireless earbuds not only have extended battery life and active noise cancellation, but they’re also more pleasant to use. The touch controls are a lot more reliable this time around and the company kept the customization that allows you to fine-tune settings. The only unfortunate thing here is the price.

By cnet
The second-generation Momentum True Wireless 2 still has that elevated $300 price. But they’re better all around, with a slightly smaller, more comfortable design, active noise canceling that rivals that of the AirPod Pro, improved battery life (up to seven hours versus the original’s four), and better noise reduction during calls. That makes them arguably the best true wireless earbuds on the market today.

By What Hi-Fi?
These Sennheisers are more comfortable and nicer to use than their predecessors, battery life is better and noise-canceling is now included as part of the package. They’re easy to live with and you could happily listen to them for hours on end without reaching for the pause button. If your budget allows, your ears will be handsomely rewarded.

Expert Reviews of Jabra Elite Active 75t:

By cnet
Except for the lack of wireless charging and active noise canceling, there isn’t much to complain about. Like the Elite 75t, this is an excellent true-wireless headphone that’s easy to recommend. Whether it’s worth the extra $20 over the standard version is debatable, but a touch more ruggedness never hurts.

By Trusted Reviews
Like the Elite 75T, the Active 75T is a fantastic pair of truly wireless earbuds with the added appeal of a more durable design to make them a better fit for when you’re getting sweaty.

By Stuff
Like the Jabra Elite 75t, the sportier Active 75T doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of some leading true wireless buds – there’s no active noise cancellation for a kick-off. They’re nice looking though still not quite as stylish and simple to use…

The Jabra Elite Active 75t true wireless workout earbuds are a fantastic value for exercise enthusiasts looking for an all-in-one solution. Battery life is impeccable as is microphone quality and fit. The USB-C charging case hardly takes up any room,…

Detail Review:

INTRODUCTION:

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2

The Sennheiser Momentum True wireless 2 is the updated version of the Momentum 1. This one comes for $299 which is more. This has good active noise cancellation and pretty good sound quality.

Jabra Elite Active 75t

I think these are great headphones for running as well the designer grade are good. You are getting a solid battery life as well. These are retailing for $139 currently.

3.1 SENNHEISER MOMENTUM TRUE WIRELESS 2 2

DESIGN & BUILD QUALITY:

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2

The case really has a pretty good look. It is made of canvas in the outside which is much better than the plastic one which gets scratches on its body. Inside the box, it is made of hard plastic. The case does have a magnet to close properly and to secure the earbuds from falling out. Also, the case has a magnet inside it to hold the earbuds in its place properly not allowing them to fall out of the case.

Also with the case you can see that the footprint of it is bigger than the one on the Airpods Pros, just looking at it from the front it’s a little longer and then it’s definitely thicker there on the side. It’s not as bad as the case for these Sony WF-1000 XM3s, it’s overall smaller than the Sony WF-1000 XM3s footprint. This case is missing wireless charging which is becoming a standard for around this price point. So, you can charge this with the USB-C port on the back but I really wish that I did have wireless charging.

Jabra Elite Active 75t

The Elite Active 75t are identical to the Elite 75t. You’ve got the same design, there are a few more colors that you will get with the Actives. You are getting the same ear gels or replaceable once in the boxes, no wingtips, and this way you get like on some other sports headphones. The big deal here is that kind of differentiates from the other earphones, it’s the actually kind of durability of getting from these headphones.

I think there’s an interesting point about whether or not that extra durability warrants the extra money. Maybe you’ve got the extra kind of protection, you haven’t had any problems. These Actives are good if you accidentally drop them down in the sink, and you pull them out quite quickly, it’s almost like accidental damage rather than any kind of swimming with them.

You’ve still got the same controls and the same functions, you still got the mics in there. So, there’s the same design that extra kind of protection is what you are getting for the more money. The design is really nice and it’s completely lightweight. They’ve shaved off some of the weight from the old 65t’s.

COMFORT:

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2

In the box, you do get multiple sizes of ear tips so you can find the best one that will fit for you. I’m really happy with the way these fit and feel because I was able to listen to these for about three to three and a half hours which was my longest listening session and they didn’t get uncomfortable at all. The true test was that I forgot that I had them in my ear and that’s always a good thing.

These also do have a flat profile, when they’re in your ears and so they don’t have anything kind of hanging down out of your ears. If I’m working out and I wipe my face to try to get some sweat off, I’m not worried about accidentally knocking these out of my ears and so with the fit and field being my number one thing these made me really satisfied.

I’ve used many of the earbuds that they sound really good but when I put them in my ear, I have to kind of mess around with them a lot. Overtime may be like after the first hour I’ll find myself readjusting them. But with these, I don’t have to do that and so they fit very comfortably in my ear and Sennheiser was able to achieve this without having to add any type of wingtips or ear hooks. So, they just really focus on the ergonomics of the design and they did a great job.

Jabra Elite Active 75t

There are some changes in the design with them, they’ve made the unit a little bit smaller, they used to be a big kind of pokey arm that came out there and that’s done in these same as it has in the normal 75ts and that makes them a little bit more snug, a little bit more compact. Overall I think it’s quite a nice new design. The case is a nice small one that fits nicely in the pocket and they are ergonomic.

It feels nice in the ears. I think in terms of the fit, it’s still exactly the same. I’ve run outdoors and I haven’t had any problems in terms of the movement. Sometimes when we sweat a bit, you may have a feel of fit around but I haven’t had any kind of issues like that. I did the shake test too and they stay fit. For me in terms of the fit, I’ve had no problems. They’re the same as the other ones that I tested and I found them secure actually. I found them good on the run. They’ve got wingtips to hook in for security. Actually these have never fallen out for me, so I really do like the way it fit in my ears.

3.1 JABRA ELITE ACTIVE 75T 1

FEATURES:

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2

You won’t find any buttons on these earbuds but each one does have a touch panel. When you do put these in your ears, you’re able to control the volume or skip or play or the pause and play function just by tapping. You can set it up in the app as well to control which action would actually do a particular type of setting adjustment, so you can do a single, double, triple tap and even a long press. Once you get these setup, you can choose how you want to turn on or off the active noise cancellation or the transparency mode.

I found it was really good with the active noise cancellation. I played some music pretty loud and it did a pretty good job at blocking out that noise. Then also with the transparency mode, I found that it was very natural sounding and so that’s going to allow the ambient sound around you. If somebody’s in the room talking, you will be able to hear that alongside the music that you’re listening to. That mode is really good and I like that it doesn’t sound too artificial or too forced.

I do have a couple of gripes with these and that is when you do take them out of your ears, they do have smart pause features and it will pause the music that you’re listening to but it doesn’t disable the touchpad. So, when I take them out of my ears and maybe I’m holding on to them and I accidentally touch the touchpad that will activate. That can be definitely annoying if it gets activate by mistake. I wish that they can just easily change that to have that turn off alongside these smart pause with the audio.

Something else is that I do want is to have one of the earbuds in my ear and put the other one in my case. In this case, it only fully works with the right earbud, so you can leave the right earbud in-ear and the left earbud in the case and it will work just fine. But if you leave the left earbud in your ear and then you put the right earbud in the case, it won’t work at all. You’re not able to just listen to your music it just won’t work, but if you were to just leave the left earbud in and just leave the right earbud in your pocket and just put it down on a desk, it will still work. So, I wish that was just kind of uniform where you can take either one out and put them inside of the case and still be able to use the other one in your ear.

When it comes to lagging, on Android I did experience a slight audio delay while I was watching some videos with these in. That happened to me when I was watching some YouTube videos and also a movie in the Google Play Movies. This definitely isn’t the best ideal situation because you can see their lips moving and the audio just slightly out of sync. But I didn’t experience this on iOS. I tried with the iPhone 11 Pro and I didn’t find that to be an issue at all that was distracting from what I was watching.

Jabra Elite Active 75t

It has passive noise cancellation which is not as much as powerful as the active noise cancellation but it does cut out the extra noises that come from your surrounding somehow a little bit with its physical appearance or its design. It’s from a simple kind of button press and I think this works really well. It’s definitely a good feature.

In terms of passive noise cancellation, I think these Jabra are very good. They work pretty well, they just drown out the noise around and you can focus on your music. You can also get voice assistant features with these. If you are an iPhone user, you can activate Siri or else and if you are an android user you can activate the Google assistant.

You’re getting an ip57 waterproof rating, what this actually means is these are waterproof and sweatproof. They wouldn’t be very useful in a swimming pool anyway they’re not really suitable for swimming. Technically they are waterproof but it’s not something you’re gonna want to take it during bath. They’re only supposed to be submerged for a certain amount of time in a certain amount of water,  this is what the IP ratings basically explain how long and how deep you can go into the water.

It’s more about being more sweatproof when you’re using in the gym or you just generally out running and then maybe if you’re running in the rain, you’ve got a bit of extra protection than you would in the kind of normal sense. So, that’s really kind of a big deal there and I tested the normal 75t’s and they are ip55 and that means they’re also water-resistant as well. So, I had no problems with them during wet runs, rainy runs, sweaty runs, although these are more durable.

3.1 SENNHEISER MOMENTUM TRUE WIRELESS 2 3

BATTERY AND ITS LIFE:

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2

When it comes to the battery life in these, they say you should be able to get around seven hours and that’s with ANC on. I did one marathon session where I use these for about three hours and then I put them down outside of the case and then I picked them back up for a little while and I got around six and a half hours. So, that’s pretty good and then also to use the case which has a built-in battery that will allow you to get three full charges. You can also extend that around seven hours of playtime to around 28 hours.

Jabra Elite Active 75t

It’s got the new USB-c charging, which is good. It also gives the quicker charging as well which is also really good. With the Active you’re getting seven and a half hours of a single charge. You’ve got twenty-eight hours total along with the charging case.

Sometimes, you can get a very noticeable drop-off in terms of battery but you can extend it by using one bud and the other one in the case itself if you’re in a desperate situation. That’s pretty good that we do have fast charge technology. When you forget to charge over and you want to quickly go out for a run, so a 15-minute charge will get you like an hour and a half which is now is pretty good.

SOUND:

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2

The sound quality was just okay. I wouldn’t be as satisfied but the good thing is that Sennheisers are definitely delivered on the audio performance because these are right up there with the top-of-the-line earbuds like Sony WF-1000XM3 and the Airpods Pros and so you get a nice clean sound out of these. Also, the soundstage is pretty wide, so you’re able to hear a lot of detail in the music that you’re listening to. They just sound fantastic but if you wouldn’t hundred percent satisfied with the sound quality well luckily, Sennheiser does make a smart control app that you can download for iOS or Android.

Inside the app, you can adjust the equalizer to kind of focus on the bass a little bit more. You can mess around with the treble but when you get the sound that you’re looking for you can quickly save a preset for that. Then as you’re listening to different types of music you can go back and change the preset to the one that you want to work with. So, I believe most people will be happy with the sound out of the box but having this extra control you definitely can’t go wrong with.

I’ve talked to a couple of people even when I was outside to test the sound quality, and I sounded just fine on there and maybe a little low at times but for the most part, I think people will be happy to use these for phone calls.

Jabra Elite Active 75t

We are getting a six-millimeter driver here. You gonna get a big strong powerful bass, bassy sound, which I think is the overriding feature you get, which I love the most. If you need energetic music sound when you’re feeling down on you or if you’re struggling in the run and you want something to really power you through, these go proper loud. If you want that kind of detail then this is pretty good at that.

Not everyone listens to kind of heights over music and maybe while listening to the audiobooks and podcasts, you can’t get that fineness in the sound quality. Then you can go and use the companion app to fit around with equalizer. There’s kind of sound profiles, I find out really rewarding in terms of finding something a bit more balanced if you don’t want that overriding kind of power. You can get something a bit more detailed with the equalizer. You can save only two profiles on that, some other headphones allow you to save more profiles. For sports and workouts, these are some of the best soundings that I’ve tested.

3.1 JABRA ELITE ACTIVE 75T 2

WHICH ONE IS WORTH BUYING?

In my opinion, the Jabra Elite Active 75t is worth buying than the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2. I think the Momentum 2 is priced more than what it should be because the Actives 75t too have similar features, good sound quality and great comfort at a lower price, so in my opinion, the Jabra Elite Active 75t is worth buying.
