Expert Review of Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2:

By The Verge
Their premium price (and, for some, the touch controls) mean they won’t be for everyone. But if you’re after a pair of truly wireless earbuds that come close to matching the quality of a premium pair of noise-canceling over-ear headphones, then Sennheiser’s Momentum True Wireless 2 are easy to recommend.

By TrustedReviews
While its previous true wireless was a solid pair, Sennheiser gets it right at the second attempt. While ANC is rather light, paired with a good fit and volume control and they keep away a good deal of noise. The real star is the audio quality: expressive, lush, and enjoyable, the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 are one of the best pairs on the market.

By Engadget
Sennheiser’s second-generation true wireless earbuds not only have extended battery life and active noise cancellation, but they’re also more pleasant to use. The touch controls are a lot more reliable this time around and the company kept the customization that allows you to fine-tune settings. The only unfortunate thing here is the price.

By cnet
The second-generation Momentum True Wireless 2 still has that elevated $300 price. But they’re better all around, with a slightly smaller, more comfortable design, active noise canceling that rivals that of the AirPod Pro, improved battery life (up to seven hours versus the original’s four), and better noise reduction during calls. That makes them arguably the best true wireless earbuds on the market today.

By What Hi-Fi?
These Sennheisers are more comfortable and nicer to use than their predecessors, battery life is better and noise-canceling is now included as part of the package. They’re easy to live with and you could happily listen to them for hours on end without reaching for the pause button. If your budget allows, your ears will be handsomely rewarded.

The original MW07 sounded great but was plagued by short battery life. With the MW07 Plus, Master & Dynamic addressed that issue by more than doubling the playtime. What’s more, the new model offers active noise cancellation to cut down on the ambient…

While its $299 (£279, about AU$528) price may seem high, we think it’s fair when compared to the likes of the Apple AirPods Pro, which are just $50 cheaper. The additional $50 gets you a much better battery life, sound, and build quality. Sure, the…

The Master & Dynamic MW07 Plus is a step up from the company’s MW07 Go. The Plus earbuds support active noise canceling, great battery life, and an IPX5 rating. Although the $300 price is cost-prohibitive, it can be justified by anyone who wants one…

Master Master & Dynamic has two new sets of truly wireless earbuds for 2019: the MW07 Plus, a direct follow-up to last year’s MW07, and the MW07 Go, a brand-new $199 entry that will appeal to those who are looking for a slightly more affordable set of…

Sumptuous-looking is the overriding impression I have of the MW07 Plus. And the impression starts even before I take out the earbuds. Premium audio brand Master & Dynamic’s second-generation true wireless in-ear headphones come with stainless steel…

The Master & Dynamic MW07 Plus is the successor of the Master Dynamic MW07. These fall under the price range of $300. These are actually the updated version of the MW07. There are great updates on these.

BUILD QUALITY DESIGN:

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2

The build quality is excellent in these. The cases have a fabric type material and having the darker color under Momentum 2 can hide a lot of the dirt as opposed to the lighter fabric on the older version as many people have a complaint on that. The earbuds feel durable and have a sleek premium feel.

The case is darker and has a black fabric. It also comes in white, it has a fabric finish all around for both. The logo is on the top. It is a bit shorter in length compared to the older model. On the back of the case, you’ll find the charge status LED, USB-C charge port, and LED button. The lead is magnetic like the previous version and has a nice tight feel when opening and closing. The earbuds are easy to grip and remove from the case and are held into place by magnets.

The earbuds have a plastic finish all around and it’s a bit smaller compared to the previous version. It has the ear indicators on the inside and on the outside, it has a shiny brushed finish for the touch controls. You also have more cutouts for the microphones that are used for ANC and the transparent features. The earbuds have microphones, touch control, charging contacts sensor, LED, and interchangeable ear tips. The finish is the same on the inside and on the outer face on both the versions.

Master & Dynamic MW07 Plus

These are made from premium materials durable handcrafted acetate and polished stainless steel. These feature exceptional acoustics custom 10-millimeter beryllium drivers, deliver a rich expansive sound.

You get a square design to them on the earbuds. You gonna get two left and right Brandon on the earbuds. With the charging case you get big bright LEDs, they do change colors to let you know how much battery life has. You get your USB type-c charging on the back of the case and that’s pretty much. These earbuds look pretty much exactly the same size as the original. You get five color options with the earbuds that are black pearl, black Quartz, jade green, tortoiseshell, and white marble.

There are four microphones that provide the best-in-class capability. Then you get two patented silicone fit wingtips like three sizes for ultimate comfort. These feature Bluetooth 5.0. They support SBC with AptX and quick pairing. The connectivity range is 100 feet, you got ambient sound mode, noise cancellation mode, and the IPX5 sweat and water-resistant. Freedom to use one or both earphones for independent listening and talk.

COMFORT:

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2

These created a nice tight fit for me. If you have issues with the older model or thought it was too big, the Momentum 2 will definitely adjust that. I feel a good fit for me. You do get good passive noise isolation on these. Navigating the touch controls in these doesn’t add pressure in your ear canals.

Master & Dynamic MW07 Plus

I tried out a few different size wingtips, I like the medium gives me a nice tight, and comfortable fit. I did the head shake test to the maximum level, but these did not move one inch. They give a perfect fit and are pretty much comfortable.

FEATURES:

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2

The Momentum True Wireless 2 comes with a user guide, USB-C charging cable, and small, medium, large, and extra small ear tips. It uses Bluetooth 5.1, AAC, SBC and AptX codec, touch controls in an app, active noise cancellation and a transparent feature, USB C for charging, and it’s ipx4 sweat and water-resistant. The battery life has improved with the Momentum 2 along with a better Bluetooth version. Both have touch controls and an app, transparent feature, USB-C, and IPX4 rating are the same.

This is also compatible with the Sennheiser app. Along with the touch functions, you can also toggle the transparent hearing in the app. You have EQ settings and can save presets as well. One new thing you will notice is that you can customize the controls and assign them to your liking in the app which you can’t do for Momentum 1.

The pairing process was instant for both original and the new one. Just open up your case, the earbuds will automatically go into the pairing mode, turn on Bluetooth in your device and select the Momentum 2.There was no noticeable latency at all with these. I tested out the lag with YouTube, Netflix, and many but there was no lag at all.

Master & Dynamic MW07 Plus

Inside the box, you get that same stainless steel charging case. This is the heaviest charging case. you get Quick Start Guide, your usual books and you get a nice little canvas style carrying pouch. You also get a bunch of different sized ear tips, large that come with the fins like the wind tips, you get extra small, regular small, small-medium with the wingtips, extra-large no wingtips, and another set of large different style ear tips. Actually a bunch of different ear tips. You also get your USB type-c charging cable and USB Type-c to USB Type-A adapter.

The differences between the original MW07 and MW07 are the price of originals is $250 and the new one is $300, the Bluetooth connection with the originals you had 4.2 while with the new ones you got Bluetooth 5.0, on the originals you don’t have ambient sound mode while with the new ones you do have, the originals had no active noise cancellation while with the new ones you get active noise cancellation before these were IPX4 water-resistant while these are IPX5 and last with the originals you had three and a half hours worth of playtime when an additional three charges so that gave you a total of fourteen hours while with the new one you get ten hours worth of playtime with three more charges with the case that’s going to give you a total of 40 hours so the battery life is incredible.

For the pairing process really simple, once you take them out of the case, they’ll automatically power up and they’ll be in Bluetooth pairing mode, then go to your phone’s Bluetooth menu and select the MW07 plus.

BATTERY AND ITS LIFE:

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2

These have seven hours of listening time with the buds and 28 hours with the case. The only drawback here is you are not getting Qi wireless charging here instead, you are getting USB Type-C charging port. These also have a quick charging feature.

Master & Dynamic MW07 Plus

These have 40 hours worth of playtime, so 10-hour battery life plus three additional charges with the case. The case has a quick charge feature to 50% in 15 minutes and 100% in 40 minutes that’s pretty good. The battery life here is much more attractive than any other true wireless earbuds in the market.

SOUND:

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2

The active noise cancellation feature under Momentum 2 is excellent and it blocked out a lot of the surrounding noises. The transparency feature was also excellent, it picks up the surrounding noises with no issues and it comes in very loud and it sounds natural. When it comes to sound, I would describe it as refined compared to the previous model. Everything is that much better across the board. The bass is pronounced and tight, not overwhelming at all and it’s just right mids and highs.

Also, the sound comes in clean and clear vocals, and instruments stand out. It’s forward but not too bright and the ANC when activated did not affect the overall sounds. You can listen at a high volume level with no issues and it’s just an immersive energetic experience throughout. I found the microphones to be good. The Momentum 2 came in a bit louder and much clearer than the original version. Sennheiser has made an already good sounding pair that much better with this new model.

Master & Dynamic MW07 Plus

I tested the sound in these at max volume, active noise cancellation turned on. The volume level on these is not good enough. That’s the same problem that I had with the originals I have with these also. They’re not that loud. I got an active noise cancellation on and with the max volume and I can hear my voice louder than the music. So, for 300 Dollars these are not good enough.

There is no volume its just too low for 300 Dollars. I tested these out with an iPhone and an Android phone, I tried out all my different streaming services, I got Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, Google Music, I tried all of the different songs from all of the different genres, and to be honest, these don’t sound good. They sound exactly the same as the originals. The ambient sound mode is bad, active noise cancellation is bad, the volume level is complete worst. Indoors I silent places, you can rock these but soon as you get outside and cars start passing around you’re at work and people talk in and other TVs playing in the background these are gonna get drowned out completely.

3.8 Master & Dynamic MW07 Plus 2

WHICH ONE IS WORTH BUYING?

In my opinion, the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 is worth buying, because it sounds 100 percent better than the Master & Dynamic MW07 Plus. Both the earbuds are of the same price but there are a day and night difference in their sound quality. MW07 Plus has a great battery life but the sound quality is more important to use it for a long time. So, the Momentum 2 is worth buying in my opinion.
