This is the review comparison between two speakers Tribit StormBox and Tribit MaxSound Plus of the same brand i.e. Tribit, it is well-known but is still a new brand. This brand is not that much popular as it is not old, but yes it is a good brand people are liking it. Both speakers have different features and design. The sound-wise both sounds amazing, but there is always pros and cons of every product. The price gap between both speakers is not that much. The Tribit StormBox is a portable wireless speaker, it is the latest device too. The speaker is small and light-weight, It gives a great sound and is highly portable. The price of this speaker is also very normal, it worths $57.99 and depends on colour as it comes in 3 colours, the black one comes at $57.99, the blue one comes at $61.99 and the camo one comes at $59.99 and there is a red colour too which is not available on amazon. So, it does give you colour options. It has IPX7 water resistance and gives 20 hours of battery life. The speaker does come with an 18-month warranty.

Tribit MaxSound Plus

The Tribit MaxSound Plus is a compact portable Bluetooth speaker, with an IPX7 waterproof rating and 20 hours of battery life. It has a dedicated button to boost the bass, something small speakers like this struggle with. Its price seems to fluctuate but currently, it’s around 40 pounds or $59.99 and depends on the colour you choose, it comes in two colours, black is worth $59.99 and blue is worth $61.99.  The sound is very clear and loud and it gives high-quality sound. The Bass delivery is consistent. Design-wise its simple and attractive.

When you will take out the StormBox it really does smells good. The speaker is beautiful, I thought it was gonna look like the flip like the JBL flip but it definitely stands apart it sets itself apart this speaker is awesome looking. You got your radiators on the bottom it looks like glass but I think it’s plastic. The radiator on the bottom you will see the gloss right there just like glass and then it’s got one on the top with the company branding, it’s like the acrylic on the top, you will see the shimmer, all that is sweet. Then you got the neoprene handle right there and then you got your raised top and bottom so you can actually sit it down and still have the sound coming out and you don’t damage your radiators.

There are Gigantic plus and minus button and then there is your multifunction in the middle, which reminds me of the UE products which is something I really like about those products because for outdoor rugged style speakers you’d kind of want you to know big buttons and stuff like that because you’re busy you ain’t got time to search for little buttons and these buttons are very visible.

Tribit MaxSound Plus

It’s a fairly generic design, but it’s compact measuring 65 millimetres by 198 millimetres by 68 millimetres. It has a matte black finish with a metal grille and the Tribit logo, over the drivers it’s pretty against weighing 621 grams but feels solid with no flexing your creaking. It sits on 4 small rubber feet. Around the back there’s an already attached lanyard, venting for the passive radiator and a rubber seal for the speaker’s IPX7 waterproof rating, that reveals a 3.5 millimetre audio in port if you prefer a wired connection, and a micro-USB charging port. It’s always disappointing not to see the more modern USB-C connection. And there’s no USB charging port like on the Soundcore boost.

Along the top of the rubberized control buttons, with the microphone just above there is a play button for voice calls and activating Google Siri from a connected device. Charging the speaker’s 2200 million power battery from empty takes a lengthy 4hours. It supports a maximum charging current of only 1.4amps at 5 volts, slower than the Soundcore boost’s 2.1 amp input.

Tribit StromBox is a great speaker. On the box they have given the basic information like specifications i.e. Bluetooth 4.2, 2 45 millimetre drivers and 2 passive radiators which is really nice and then you got 2 by 12 watt which means the 24-watt speaker, the charging time is 4 hours but you get up to 20 hours of party time you. It comes in 3 different colours which are blue, black and red. When you will open the box you will get the basic manuals for the speaker and then you have the speaker and it’s accessory and that’s only the micro USB charging cable.

On the backside you got your power button right there, you got your LEDs and it’s just one press and it turns on. You’ve got the four LED lights which indicates how much battery is there. There is a Bluetooth button and then you’ve got an X base button. Then in the end you got your aux cable and your DCM, you just have to open that to insert the cable in it. They also say that it’s waterproof and it doesn’t say water resists, so that’s why they got this mesh on the speaker. You will really love the design of this speaker.

The price point of Tribit products and the build quality of its products versus the sound of Tribit’s products don’t match up, the build is premium the sound is premium but the price is like cheap budget stuff price because there are companies that are making products that are the exact same calibre of stuff like sound and build that are charging like three to four times more but this speaker is great gives so much in normal price. The Tribit is killing in the game and in everything it does, so if you use 2 it sounds fantastic and if 1 it sounds mesmerizing, tiny little Bluetooth speaker and you got some great headphones which are by far my faves in this price point and you got some great earbuds, can you even get better than this.

Tribit MaxSound Plus

Inside the box, you get the speaker itself, a micro-USB charging cable and a 3.5-millimetre audio cable. There’s also a multi-lingual getting started guide. There’s no travel pouch or case. First impressions of the speaker are good. There’s no support for the high-quality aptX or AAC codecs, but I couldn’t hear much difference even playing over a wide connection. Audio sync with YouTube and iOS was not great as seems to be the norm, but there was only a slight delay with YouTube on Android and with Netflix on both platforms. The microphone quality is adequate for phone calls, although there is a fair bit of background there, I tested its IPX7 waterproof rating and it held up fine.

The power status LED lights red whilst charging and turns green when fully charged you can use a speaker whilst it’s charging. When you first turn it on with a single press of the power button, there’s a beep that can’t be disabled and the power status LED flashes blue, indicating the speaker’s ready for pairing. Tap on Tribit MaxSound Plus in your Bluetooth settings. There are another beep and the power LED goes a steady blue. This will turn red when the battery goes below 15%. There’s no NFC pairing. A single press of the power button also turns the unit off. This speaker doesn’t support multi-pairing. And it can’t be connected to another speaker in a stereo pair either.

To connect to another device press the Bluetooth button. The status LED will flash blue with an accompanying beep and the speaker is again ready for pairing. If you have any connection issues, you can reset the speaker, by pressing the volume up and down buttons together for 5 seconds whilst the speaker’s powered on. The speaker will turn off and all Bluetooth pairing records will be deleted. The controls are fairly intuitive although it makes more sense to me for the volume buttons to be used for skipping tracks, relieving the play button from some of its duties. Apart from the power button and Bluetooth button already discussed, a single press of the play button pauses or resumes playback, or manages an active phone call, a 2-second press activates your voice assistant depending on your connected device, a double press skips forward a track and a triple press skips back. 

SOUND QUALITY:

Tribit StormBox

The speaker is little but still sounds amazing, this one is nice and this thing puts out sound like it’s angry at somebody this thing came loud and hard. This speaker has a great form factor, you will like the bottle type of form factor that way you can just slam this speaker in your bike and just go. Also, you have your base radiators right on both sides but then flanking those instead of having both drivers coming from the front or from one side you got one driver on one side and another driver on the side in the middle so that is kind of 360 sound because it’s coming left or right. So, it’s almost like a stereo. It gives full blast with the X-bass off. When you will play music while keeping the x-bass on and when you will turn up full blast, you will notice a very slight enhancement of the bass like a very slight with the X bass on and that too at full volume and it still has that nice of a sound.

The one thing to notice is while playing music, when you turn the speaker down you do get a little bit more bass because the speakers aren’t working as hard, so you do get a little bit more bass and it doesn’t muddy up but it works better, it sounds better, if you turn the X bass off, but when you turn it up to the max volume you can hit that X bass button, and that’s when I did notice to increase in bass, so you bring that bass back once you turn up the volume. There’s no latency and it is loud in a good way.

Tribit MaxSound Plus

The sound quality of this speaker to 45-millimeter 12-volt drivers and a passive radiator deliver a sound that belies the size of the speaker. Across a range of music, it sounds well balanced and there’s barely any distortion even at maximum volumes. I left X-Bass on most of the time, which sounded better to my ear even with more vocal tracks and podcasts. It added more richness to the sound, without affecting the mids and highs. Finally, there’s the XBass button which is on by default indicated by its accompanying white LED. Tap the button to turn the bass boost off.

In MaxSound Plus there’s no accompanying app to control EQ you could use your devices in EQ settings but I really doubt you’ll need to. Overall for the price and size of the speaker is difficult to fault the sound quality. The battery life is good. Tribit doesn’t specify under what conditions they achieved 20 hours of battery life, but I got at least half that with X-Bass mainly on, and often playing back at approaching maximum volume, which isn’t bad at all. The speaker has Bluetooth 4.2, not the more recent 5.0 standard, but the range was still decent reaching the next room of the house around 10 meters away. The connection is reliable, with no dropouts in my testing.

WHICH ONE IS WORTH BUYING?

You should definitely buy Tribit StormBox speaker because this is the one to buy, form factor spot-on, bill quality spot-on, functionality waterproof spot-on, sound quality is blazing. For its size, the Tribit MaxSound Plus is one of the best sounding Bluetooth speakers I’ve tested. Together with its IPX7 waterproof rating, size and battery life, it makes a great travel speaker if you’re happy with the weight. It’s not the most feature-rich speaker I’ve tested. You can’t use it as a USB power bank, you can only pair to one device at a time, and there’s no support for stereo pairing, charging is quite slow, there’s no NFC or aptX support, and it still has only micro-USB and Bluetooth 4.2. But none of its shortcomings really matter if your main concern is how it sounds. 

Both are good speakers and the price range is also almost the same, but according to my opinion, you should go to Tribit StormBox, but it totally depends on you.
