Detail Review:

INTRODUCTION:

Corsair HS70

The Corsair HS70 wireless headset is brand new headsets. They feel great, they are amazing. They’re really comfortable. The battery life is also good, it sustains like if you’re playing for like five hours you can play for five hours and be fine they say the battery life is longer. If you’re a gamer the place for maybe 12 hours, maybe it’ll sustain for that long. The good thing is you can charge and use them at the same time, that’s not an issue as they are wireless you would like to take advantage of the wireless aspect.

Corsair HS70 Pro

The Corsair HS70 pro is a wireless headset made for PC and PlayStation 4. The predecessors to these were the HS70s ES which dropped last year now Corsair has revamped their whole lineup of the HS 50s 60s and 70s with improved ear cut padding, updated audio drivers, and, a new look. Everything that came with the HS 70 is a wireless dongle, 5 foot micro USB charging cable, removable microphone. instruction, safety, and, warranty booklets.

Corsair HS70

DESIGN:

Corsair HS70

The design and build quality of this microphone looks very sleek and don’t feel like they’re gonna break unless you do something seriously bad to them. At the top of the headset, you will see the word corsair on it. On the inside, there’s like crisscross design that is stitched into the top of the headset that looks really nice. The white version of this microphone is the best. There’s also a limited edition or it’s a special edition version that is peach. But according to me, the white looks the best, especially with my setup.

There is an on button which is on the right ear cuff. Then on the left ear cuff, you have the mute button the little knob for you to turn the volume up and down as well as the area where you charge it. There’s also a little port that you can take out when you want to use your headset microphone, now you don’t have to use a headset microphone you could just use it as headphones but you can’t also use it as a gaming headset.

Corsair HS70 Pro

The build quality of these microphones is surprisingly well done. It has a matte black coating on the exterior of the ear cuffs and metal framework. Corsair crossed that top leather piece and a cream-colored leather for the top padding with black stitching, this is further accented by this gold band on each ear cup and I have to take a second to admire it because it looks really great. I tried and I’m still hard-pressed to find better-looking headsets. It’s just got class and really good build quality and you’ll be surprised it’s rare that you find that in this price range because you will be really accustomed to seeing all of these like plastic based RGB lit headsets with really met drivers and they’re just that they’re matte. There are the aesthetics, these are so well designed they look professional the whole combination of colors and materials used is a great blend.

On the back and the bottom of this headset we have our power button, volume wheel, mic mute button, battery indicator light which shines green orange, and red and, then we have our micro USB charging plugin and our detachable microphone plugin, which is keyed so you’ll never plug it in the wrong way. The build quality of this microphone is on point. No cheap plastic parts that are prone to break in a couple of months.

HS70 PRO

COMFORT:

Corsair HS70

These microphones are super comfortable. They have a very nice clean look simple but clean than most other headsets. Of course, other headsets made were a bit too flashy in my opinion a little bit too much for me I think these are super simple comfortable and anybody can wear them for a long time. You can fall asleep with the headphones on, I did it more than once they’re very comfortable but you may start to feel discomfort if the earpads start to wear out. The HS70 Wireless does not feature removable ear pads so if anything happens to them you’re screwed.

Corsair HS70 Pro

Comfort is a big Pro here, these are a wee bit on the heavy side, but the padding on the top and the ear cups are so well done that once you wear them it’s like they’re not even there. We have nice adjustment levels on the sides, they’re labeled as well. Plush memory foam earpads and the leather is crazy soft. Comfort is definitely not an issue here. If you try these with glasses to check for comfort, the padding does really well. If you have a medium-sized head and the clamping force is well balanced and distributed, the padding just molds itself right around the frames perfectly. We have about 20 degrees of tilt on the drivers themselves but they don’t swivel, incase you like resting your headset on your shoulders besides that the drivers have a grill with the Corsair logos giving the appearance of open-back headphones but these are purely aesthetic as these are closed back.

Corsair HS70

FEATURES:

Corsair HS70

In the Box you get a wireless USB transmitter that you plug basically into your PC or ps4, I do not believe these work on Xbox one at least not the wireless feature. You also get a charging cable, it’s a USB of 1.8 meters, and a quick startup guide. There is also a Corsair desktop app called IQ which basically they have EQ presets for your headsets such as clear chat, pure direct, movie theater fps competition, and, a bass boost.

The ability to customize and make your own equalizer settings for different games is definitely crucial. Being able to swap between different custom EQS for different games is something that you typically see and really hire to your headsets that have Dax and they can custom make their own little profiles in different software and that’s just a really good feature that they’ve included in that IQ software to be able to make this your own to really fine-tune it and customize it and make it yours. The 16-hour battery life with under 2 hours to a full charge is definitely a bonus.

They also include an equalizer in their IQ software and this thing works like magic so if you guys aren’t happy with the way they come out of the box you can go into these settings and change them and it’s just super easy. One thing generally people always forget to do is charge the headphones and the USB cord that they provide is so good, it’s long enough to whether you want to put at your computer you can charge it while you use it which is another nice feature while we’re on the topic these last for 16 hours which is another plus I mean you shouldn’t be gaming for 16 hours plus anyways, so once you take them off just plug them in charge them and they’ll be ready for you the next time you want to go.

Corsair HS70 Pro

The features of this headset are rocking tuned, 50-millimeter Neodymium drivers. The connector is USB Type A, the wireless range is up to 40 feet(12m), battery life is up to 16 hours, the frequency response is 20Hz – 20kHz, Impedance is 32 Ohms 1kHz, sensitivity is 111dB, and, the type of the microphone is Unidirectional. There is an idle shutdown feature but you can customize this feature in the software to make it whatever time limit you want so, that whenever that amount of time has passed that there has been zero activity on the headset, it will automatically shut down to preserve battery life, now this has to be customized on the PC software.

The quality of the microphone is actually surprisingly good, especially for a $100 headset. HS70 pro does come with a pop filter which is definitely an added bonus, it helps to negate the effects of plosives and those are things that you know your P’s and your bees and they max out your mic and make it sound really bad, but this really helps to negate those effects.

The cons of this microphone are, without a PC you will not be able to utilize the IQ software which is what enables you to use the pre-made EQ settings or to custom make your own and you won’t be able to turn on the 7.1 surround sound. It would have been really crucial just for the functionality standpoint to have a button to just turn on that 7.1 surround sound somewhere on the headset to toggle it on and off, same thing goes for toggling through those EQ presets that would be really crucial, that would be the thing that really makes this killer just having a button right there just turn on that freakin 7.1 surround sound and then another button to scroll through the presets that you made so you don’t have to go back into the software. That would be freaking dope.

Corsair HS70

MICROPHONE:

Corsair HS70

In this microphone, you can change the EQ presets to whatever you’d like you can always move up to however many decibels you want the different ranges that you want for it I suggest using the presets because it’s the easiest. The FPS competition one is perfect for a fortnight. In the program, you can also adjust your mic volume and it’s kind of hard for you to find where your battery life is for these headsets. Basically, what you have to do is go into the dashboard and then add the battery status for your HS70 wireless headsets. If you want to see all temperatures for your PC, you can also have all of those up there as well as the EQ preset for your wireless headset.

These microphones are a wireless 7.1 surround sound headset for gaming and this thing will completely blow you away. As you know all gaming headsets have those long cords that go to the back of your computer they get tangled in your chair when you try to get up and all types of problems. so, these fix that problem

Corsair HS70 Pro

This headset is rocking a virtual 7.1 surround sound but you will have to enable this in the software. The surround sound works well in creating a broader more open sound stage for sure and whenever that’s enabled these microphones really start to feel more like open-back headphones, instead of closed back. we’re also equipped with a 16-hour internal battery which fully recharges in under two hours. The wireless dongle is rated for up to 40 feet and even through multiple walls running to the kitchen to get a drink in between rounds you will still get clean audio in your pickup. This microphone is truly plug-and-play, I tested this on my PC and my PlayStation 4, and on both devices, all you need to do is plug in the dongle turn on the headset and you are good to go.

The audio is good enough here so, if you wanted to use this as your main mic or as key Mike while streaming, you can do that and it would sound pretty good. Another thing, if you want to use this as a streaming mic make sure that you add some noise gates and some compression and it actually sounds really good.

HS70-Pro

SOUND:

Corsair HS70

The microphone does not sound that bad, you get what you get for a gaming headset, if you’re just playing with friends it’s perfectly fine. Another thing to note is that the wireless range is up to 40 feet, it works from like a two-story house you can go downstairs get some water come back up, and still hear everything. You can get up and do other things in your room while you queue for a game which is also very nice. so you never really miss a beat and when I would get up sometimes I would almost swipe for a chord trying to make sure it’s all the way in my chair and I realized you know what I don’t have to do that anymore it’s nice just to have these I can get up at any time, walk around go to the bathroom or anything.

The mic sounds really good. With the background noise of anything like a fan, it does sound pretty good and clear not like a robot. The clarity of these microphones is amazing. So, that’s really amazing and your teammates will be able to hear you with these headphones if that’s a concern of you. Putting on the HS70 onto your head and turning on some music, first and foremost the bass and the clarity just jump right out at you. In-game also you will get the same performance and that’s what you get amazing sound quality the separation between your teammates and the actual game sounds is very nice very smooth very separated. So, you will never miss an important call.

Corsair HS70 Pro

I was initially worried that they wouldn’t be loud or clear enough and I was shocked by the strength I turned my headphones up pretty high during gaming and try to hear as much as possible, the HS70 pro didn’t disappoint. These microphones are crazy loud. The audio was very clear, the bass mid-low-end definitely well pronounced, but the high end was just a little bit tinny but we can fully customize this headset through the Corsair IQ software, where we get to use either the pre-made EQ presets or we can custom make our own, definitely a big bonus. I tried all of the presets but for some reason, I really liked the balance and soundstage of the stock settings with the exception of bringing down the high end ever so slightly. Whenever we switch profiles, we have an audio cue to tell us which profile was on which is nice but these audio cues also extend to different features like powering on and off the headset or if it’s going to go into idle shutdown mode or if we’re muting or unmuting our mic whatever we’re doing it seems like there’s an audio cue for it, which is nice.

When you will test it with a mechanical keyboard typing in the background to see how much sound it drowns out, and you will still hear the keyboard a little bit there in the background but it will definitely takedown in the mix quite a bit. This is a unidirectional mic, meaning that it is really sensitive to how close it is to the source. So, once you will move this microphone closer to your mouth, your teammates will absolutely hate you when they hear your breathing. So, that is going to be an issue if you have a too close to your mouth and if you take it further away from your mouth you’ll notice right away that you just completely disappear very quickly even if you keep that mic angled towards your mouth, you will just fade completely away. So stay aware of that and keep it in its sweet spot and this thing will perform really well.

HS70-Pro

WHICH TO BUY?

Corsair HS70 is super comfortable, but the battery life is okay,  like I’ve mentioned twice before I haven’t been finding the same success with 16-hour battery life as they claim but I do feel that the battery life sustains for as long as I need, while I am playing the game overall these headsets are great comfortable at a price tag of around $99. Corsair HS70 pro has amazing Audio and microphone quality, at this price range is really good. You’d be hard-pressed to find a better mic and headset combo for 100 bucks. The build quality and battery life of this headphone are really good and then you have to look at the blend of features that are put into it as well and for 100 bucks this definitely has my recommendation.

The price range of the headphones is almost the same and affordable. So, you should go for the headphone which is suitable for you, after going through the features. But according to my opinion, you should definitely go for the PRO.
