Detail Review:

INTRODUCTION:

JBL Boombox 2

The JBL Boombox 2 is a fully submerged speaker that features Bluetooth5.1. This speaker is retailing for around five hundred dollars currently on Amazon and this is absolutely insane.

Marshall Woburn II

The Marshall Woburn II is one of the speakers from the Marshall line-up speakers that includes the Marshall Stanmore speakers and all. This speaker retails for about five hundred dollars, the appearance itself lends itself to the 500.

DESIGN:

JBL Boombox 2

The overall speaker is covered with some type of fabric, it’s like a hybrid mesh. You have nice grips here on the bottom basically, so it won’t slide back and forth, to stick. You have also got nice grips on the top with the handle to lift the speaker easily and the handle says Boombox 2. You have got the passive radiators on the sides of the speaker, as like all the other portable speakers from JBL. These passive radiators are gonna make you feel the bass and its punchiness. On the top of the speaker below the handle, you have got some controls. First of all, you have the party boost button that is gonna allow you for stereo pairing. Then you have the volume down button, power on/off button, Bluetooth button, volume up button, and play/pause button. On the back, inside the flap we have power USB as a charging Bank, we have served here, micro USB, and auxiliary input.

Marshall Woburn II

The Marshall Woburn II looks like the other speakers from the Marshall line-up speakers such as the Stockwell, Killburn, etc. As with the other speakers from the lineup, it also has black or white leather-like material on the front with the front-facing grille with the Marshall logo engraved on it. This speaker also looks like the amplifiers from Marshall with the guitar-amp-like controls, aluminum, and gold color accents on the knobs and on the front of the speaker. As far as the switches, you have a knob for the volume, bass, and treble, and also, has buttons such as the power button, play/pause button, and an audio source button that lets you switch between Bluetooth, and aux or RCA modes. On the back of the speaker, you have RCQA input, the connection for charging, and the 3.5-millimeter aux jack.

FEATURES:

JBL Boombox 2

This speaker comes in a nice-looking box. 24-hour battery playtime is claimed by JBL from this speaker. Keep in mind very important the battery duration is gonna change in the sense of the volume you listen to the music. So if you listen to the max volume you ain’t gonna get 24 hours, you’re gonna get substantially much less. This is fully submersible as it is IPX7 rated. This is also a power bank what that means as you could charge any of your electric devices tablets, phones, laptops, whatever needs to be charged, and also, other Bluetooth speakers. This is featuring JBL party boost, so you can basically have a stereo sound if you gonna have 2 of these speakers. Inside the box other than the speaker itself, we get some booklets and documentation such as the quick start-up guide, warranty, etc, then we get a power brick and this was USB Type-C, so it’s absolutely insane as this is going to charge it a lot faster, and then we have wire for the input.

This is not your ordinary Bluetooth speaker, in the sense of you just take it and you know you play some music but this is more of like a rugged, this is more of like an outdoor speaker. If you’re someone that basically is on the move, you go outdoors and do a bunch of outdoor stuff, and if you want something that’s rugged and just you could use much, this is the speaker for you because most all these other speakers especially for the size like the Hyperboom which is more than you can move around with as it’s much rugged while the Hyperboom is not.

Marshall Woburn II

One of the bonuses is once you’re controlling the speakers through the app. You can actually use two cell phones to streaming devices to control the speaker which allows for back-and-forth play, between you and another guest. It actually also allows you a lot of control over your sound, you can actually customize the settings, or you can go with their preset for all the music category as far as rock, jazz, acoustic, it has a lot of control via the app.

It has a lot of nice little features as far as the lighting on the knobs, the trim itself, the actual lettering of the Marshall, the speaker itself gives off a very elegant look to it. It shows the 500 dollars worth right away. I like that the design is very elegant and it’s got a nice retro look to it. Down to the gold knobs, down to the lettering, down to the stenciling of actual Marshall on the speaker. I’ve also noticed that once you’re streaming, you actually do get about 25 to 30 feet at about the 30 feet mark, you do start to cut in and out. The downside is once you lose a connection, the actual speaker does stop playing.

JBL Boombox 2

SOUND QUALITY:

JBL Boombox 2

It’s not just loud for the sake of being loud, it actually has a good range of sound and it sounds very clean and crisp, a good bass, a nice kick to it but not booming bass. That’s one thing that JBL says the Boombox 2 does better it has better bass and a little bit more power driving the speakers. So if you want something that has a bit more of a boom to it, the Boombox 2 is probably the way to go.

Marshall Woburn II

This speaker has two one-inch tweeters and it has dual 5.25 subs, so it’s very bass-driven but the actual mids and the highs they’re not muddled, so you still get a pretty good sound out of it. As far as the sound, I’m sure there are other speakers that are pretty much comparable to the sound of this. This speaker does get loud and also, the bass is incredible. It does have an equalizer in the app so you can adjust the sound as you want.

Marshall Woburn II

WHICH ONE IS WORTH BUYING?

In my opinion, the Marshall Woburn II is worth buying than the JBL Boombox 2 if having an app for controlling sound is important for you, otherwise the JBL Boombox 2 is worth buying than the Marshall Woburn II as it has a better connection, and also, sounds better.
