Detail Review

INTRODUCTION:

Logitech G600

It’s really designed for MMO gaming but you can also use for strategy gaming or even twitch gaming if you like. This mouse design, grip, and everything are good enough.

Logitech G602

This mouse is quite old in Logitech’s lineup of gaming mouse but still, it’s competitive, and the design of it is also used in the G502 which is a famous mouse for gaming in this period of time. So, if you like the features of it, you should consider this mouse for gaming and also for other works.

DESIGN & COMFORT:

Logitech G600

The switches on this mouse are rated for up to 20 million clicks and Logitech would not tell us the exact switch is they’re using in this but they are metal switches, not plastic switches. They’re solid clicks. In this mouse, each button is a determined click.

The dimensions of the mouse are 188 millimeters by 75 millimeters by 41 millimeters. The cable length is 6.5 feet or 2 meters. The coating on the mouse where your fingerprints are most commonly pressed, there’s a fingerprint-resistant coating, and where your palm rest, there’s a hydrophobic coating. So, if you’re sweating a lot it’s not gonna stay wet and it’s not gonna build up that kind of gamer gunk that other mice tend to get. So, you don’t clean this constantly, the hydrophobic coating tends to really make a difference.

The cable is braided but it’s a very soft braided, most braided cables kind of feel the same or stiff but this one’s really soft and it’s extremely lightweight, so you don’t feel it drag or anything when you’re moving the mouse. It’s cloth wrapped and it also comes with the hook and loop strap to roll it up. It also has low friction feet on the bottom. It has a very smooth glide, it doesn’t grip at all.

Logitech G602

The G602 is sturdy, with a mostly hard matte black plastic and rubber build, with shiny silver plastic accents. It’s not afraid to be a little bold, with long sharp edges and sweeping curves. It looks well-made, premium, and surprisingly modern. It’s also very comfortable and feels great in the hand, as long as you’re right-handed. It’s a pretty long mouse with a big thumb rest.

FEATURES & PERFORMANCE:

Logitech G600

We have twenty buttons on this mouse. So, there are 12 thumb buttons, the left click, middle click, right-click, and a ring click, the scroll wheel is clickable and tiltable, so that’s three for the scroll wheel alone, and then the DPI and profile switching which is the two buttons in between the left and right-clicks. The 12 thumb buttons, there are four rows of three or three columns of four, each row is tilted the opposite from the next or previous row. So, it’s very easy to distinguish exactly which button you’re pressing without having to look at it or accidentally clicking the wrong one. They’re all shaped completely differently and it’s very easy to navigate. You can reprogram any of these buttons and the twelve buttons on the side initially they correspond to buttons one through the plus unlike your keyboard but you can remap those to anything you want, you can even remap from the macros in the software.

The Ring button is kind of sensitive and I have clicked it on accident a few times in kind of panicky gaming situations but as long as you don’t have it bound to anything too important that would mess up whatever you’re doing at the time then it’s okay. It definitely helps and I think not only in MMO but also if you’re playing an FPS like if you want a quick grenade throw button and also as a melee button, it’s just really quick and easy.

The sensor, they’ve chosen is the Avago ADNS 9800 and that’s not official but that’s what I figured out which is possibly slightly modified by Logitech. It’s 200-8200 DPI which is quite ludicrous, the max acceleration is 30G and the max speed is up to 160 inches per second that are 4.06 meters per second. A lot of the issues that plagued the Avago ADNS 9500 are not present in this. So, it’s a much smoother experience, there’s no sense or jitter or anything like that that I’ve experienced. For MMO gaming, it’s totally fine.

Logitech G602

It’s a 2.4 GHz wireless mouse by Logitech. In the box, you get the mouse itself, 2 AA batteries, a tiny USB wireless receiver, a USB extension cord if your computer’s USB ports are far away, and some paperwork.

For tracking, the mouse uses a high-accuracy optical Delta Zero sensor with a 2,500 DPI, which can be adjusted all the way down to 250 using the buttons on the top left or in the settings. The G602’s standout feature is its eleven fully programmable buttons. You’ve got left and right-click, scroll wheel, two buttons on the top left, and six buttons on the lefthand side, where the thumb rests. All of these buttons are fully customizable and can be programmed in the Logitech Gaming Software to perform any function, macro, or key command you want.

Usually, the main compromises with wireless mice over their wired counterparts are input latency and battery life, but according to Logitech, those won’t be issues here. The G602 has a wireless report rate of 500 Hz with a 1 ms response time, not bad for a wireless mouse. In everyday use, the mouse is solid, responsive, and accurate, and plays great in games in my experience. It’s great for mixed workloads of games and productivity, which as you would expect, those extra buttons are great for.

It’s quoted to have some of the best battery life in the category: 250 hours of non-stop gaming in high-performance mode. That means if you game on it for four hours a day, every day, this thing would last over two months straight! Still, you want more long hours of battery life, just flip the little switch on the top. Those green lights mean you’re now in endurance mode, where your battery should supposedly last a full 9 months!

Powering that big battery is two of them, they’re regular old alkaline AA. There’s nothing fancy or rechargeable here, but the batteries do come included in the box and one can be removed to decrease the weight of this thing slightly from 152 grams to 129 grams. That is still kinda heavy though, especially if you’re coming from a wired mouse.

SOFTWARE:

Logitech G600

I actually really like the Logitech software. It’s nice-looking and easy to use, it’s not too simplified but also it’s not too complex either. If you’re traveling, the mouse does have three onboard profiles, so they’re stored internally in the memory and that’s gonna be handy even if you don’t have the software installed on someone’s machine and there’s even a button on the mouse that will allow you to change between one profile and another on the fly.

It does have RGB, so you can set it to any shade of any color that you want to, there are 16 million different options as far as the color go. You can adjust the brightness, you can have it pulse, breathing effect, and can have it just be off if you want. Usually, the lighting will be flashy and cheap in most of the products but Logitech maintaining their reputation by improving its quality even in this RGB lighting.

Logitech G602

You can program the buttons to perform specific functions and macros per application using the Logitech Gaming Software. Be sure to flip the switch from On-Board Memory to Automatic Game Detection, or else macros won’t work.

WHICH TO BUY?

In the Logitech G600, there are a lot of options, features, and software is also good. So, for the price, it has more than enough. It may not be Logitech’s latest and greatest, but it does have one key thing going for it, the price. Overall, this is a very good mouse. If you’re looking for a new mouse or you’ve decided to make the switch to wireless, with a feature pack like this if you this one on a sale then it’s worth buying.

In my opinion, Both the mouse works well. If you play MMO or MOBA games, then you should definitely choose the Logitech G600 mouse. If you want to use the mouse in gaming as well as for productivity, then the G602 mouse is also better but the price is about $90 which will be your choice that you want to buy this mouse at this price or not.
