Modern rustic decor in interiors often blends in with industrial flair. Combining rustic furniture with industrial accents and ideas creates an interesting contrast where concrete backgrounds and reclaimed metal mix with the warm tones of wood and natural rattan.

The loft designed by interior designer Serhii Seinov is located in Chicago. From this bird’s eye view, the interior design looks smooth and almost squishy despite the solid concrete floor.
The huge sofa upholstered in light gray is L-shaped. Under the sofa in the country-style living room is a rug that forms an interesting angle with the sofa as if inviting us to come in and sit and then takes us back to the dining room.
Eclectic interior design
An eclectic mix of tables and an old planter form an interesting central core in the living room.
A clay pot, a tree trunk coffee table and a very old metal one create a surprisingly good balance in the center of the room.
The rather industrial-style dining room is comprised of a wooden trestle table with a peeling paint finish and a set of six stools.
A rustic kitchen complete with industrial-style exposed ductwork forms a backdrop to the rustic dining room. Metal and wood storage drawers complete the space under the rustic console.
The kitchen island is another piece that looks worn. A metal chair with a lot of patina is located at one end. Behind us we see the industrial-looking vacuum cleaner ducts that have been fitted with LED lights around their base to illuminate the hob.
Surface mounted electrical wiring runs down the rustic textured walls, showing areas of cracked and peeling paint. A rustic wood burning stove stands out in the stark hollow space. Industrial interior features in this Chicago loft include vintage industrial fans, handrails, and steel stair treads.
The bedroom decor represents a slight change of pace, with warm natural wicker decor dominating the space. Two rattan pendant lamps illuminate the head of the bed. A trestle stool large enough to support a kettle and cup plays the role of a nightstand.
This new trend in modern interior design creates a cozy and warm feeling and most importantly, it gives our eyes a chance to rest from the striking colors that surround us everywhere eager for our attention. These types of modern interiors are committed to attracting us with their relaxed atmosphere, moderate decoration and fine textures that are pleasant to both the eyes and the touch.
We can see that the lack of colors in the interiors can create a feeling of harmony and togetherness. If we look we will see that the industrial style in these interiors is reserved for larger elements such as concrete floors, steel stairs, exposed pipes, etc. while the decoration and furniture are kept in a rustic style that carries simplicity and warmth.
