Detail Review

INTRODUCTION:

Logitech G703 Lightspeed

This doesn’t have as many features as the expensive gaming mouse but in this, the job can be done. It comes with nice features at a reasonable price. The design and shape are also like that way, most of the people will be comfortable while using it.

Logitech G403 Prodigy

You can get this in a wired or wireless version and it’s very similar in a lot of ways to the G900. The design of the mouse and the features of it and everything is very nice to use but the price is a little bit high compared to other mouses’.

DESIGN & COMFORT:

Logitech G703 Lightspeed

The mouse by itself is 95 grams, if you add your 10-gram weight you get up to 105. It’s absolutely perfect, it’s not super light and it’s just that perfect. The 95 grams is not heavy by any means and when you have the weight you get into that 105, you do feel it is quite lofty in a little bit tail-heavy.

As far as the dimensions, it fits really nice in the hand. It feels fantastic but the thing that really negative is the tail end back. The hump is really coming up and sharp which looks egg-shaped. Another mouse that looks like this one also has somewhere a good falling shape where your palm can rest but this mouse has the shape where your last finger cannot rest in which may also give you a little cramp in the hand. It may be a personal preference and it varies from each and every gripe and hand size.  If we discuss the side grips, this is some of the best if not the best grips on any Mouse. I mean, these things are just perfect, they’re like pinch soft.

Logitech G403 Prodigy

It’s coming with a weight of 107 grams which is the same as the G900. However, it does come with an additional weight which will bring that weight up to 117 grams at 10 grams weight and they’ll make it more like a medium on the weight scale compared to other gaming mice out there. It’s quite the sort of classic design but I really like the look of it. It’s way more subdued than the more crazy looking G900 which isn’t a bad thing. I really like the looks of the G900 but this one is much more subdued. This is a right hand only design whereas the G900 is actually an ambidextrous design. So, people that are left-handed might have to go for another mouse. It’s a lot milder, a lot more minimalistic, just a lot more subdued as the best way to put it.

This is extremely comfortable. It’s just superb in terms of comfort and an absolute joy to use. It fit my hand perfectly, I had no issues with it. It is a little bit on the light side but you can add in that weight if you want a bit more. It’s definitely one of the most comfortable gaming mice I’ve ever used and Logitech just has a really good record with making extremely comfortable gaming mice. This is really good than G900, G502.

FEATURES & PERFORMANCE:

Logitech G703 Lightspeed

In your box, you’re gonna get your mouse, you get your braided USB cable, an extra 10-gram weight, a little adapter to use wirelessly, and then your USB dongle. Now, as far as using it wirelessly, you have your little adapter and then you have your dongle. To use it wirelessly, you can just put your dongle right in the adapter and then connect your USB cable and you can route it from your PC. Underneath the mouse, you have your power button.

Now, underneath the mouse, you are using a Logitech hero sensor which is absolutely spot-on. I used the Logitech G Pro Wireless which has the same sensor and it’s absolutely spot-on perfect. It’s really cool that you get that extra battery life with this sensor which is super nice with Logitech mice, pretty much all their wireless ones with the hero sensor. Logitech also states with that sensor, they are able to reduce the weight.

As far as the buttons, they’re very crispy and very clicky. You got the finger grooves upfront, very nice scroll wheel, rubber-coated, nice, and recessed. The side buttons are nice, big, and you can decipher them very easily and there are in the perfect placement. The buttons sound springy and bouncy.

As far as your settings with the mouse with the RGB and then your DPI and everything, you get a Logitech G Hub software which is really easy to use and very simple but it’s kind of like Razer software like sometimes, you need it open if you want to keep your profiles and your RGB saved. What I do with all of Logitech mice or even my wireless ones is just get the G Hub open, go down, and click onto onboard storage and it’ll save your one profile in order to keep that RGB for you. So, then again you can just close the software out, you can delete the software if you want and you never have to use it but you’re stuck with that one that you made active right there.

Logitech G403 Prodigy

It has the same wireless technology as G900. So, it’s on the 2.4 gigahertz band and it has a 1 ms report rate. Now, what’s interesting about it is that if it’s asking for a long battery, you just connect the cord up to the front just like the G900. Then, we can do very easily is just take the cord out once it’s fully charged and then just plug it into the dongle, and then you can use it like wireless.

Now, sensor wise, this coming with the same optical sensor as the G900 that’s the PMW 3366 sensor that goes up to 12,000 DPI. It’s coming with the 1,000 Hertz polling rate, RGB lighting on the scroll wheel, and on the Logitech logo. It retains the fantastic optical sensor of the G900. I had no issues with it and it’s just one of the best sensors I have ever tested on a gaming mouse.

It also retains the metal spring tensioning system of the G900 which I also loved that’s just in the left and right-click. It’s really good, gives you nice travel, a nice tactile click. It’s just a really nice system and it feels perfect and I really liked that. As far as the other buttons go, obviously, it’s a bit different in terms of design. Forward and back buttons are on the left-hand side I thought were pretty good. I would have liked them to be a little bit smaller but it’s still pretty good and they work just fine. Aside from that, all you have is a DPI button up on top but you could probably program to do something else if you really wanted to. The scroll wheel is different, this one feels more like the one taking out the G302 with a very similar feeling.

As far as additional features, there is Logitech’s gaming software which you can use to set everything up. It’s fantastic software, the one criticism I have with it is, it doesn’t have any like UI scaling so if you’re using a 4k display it’s actually quite tiny.

BATTERY:

Logitech G703 Lightspeed

As far as battery life, you get 35 hours with the RGB on which light up the logo and then that little line right in between the scroll wheel, and then with the RGB off, you get 60 hours. I think there is no good RGB anyway, so it will be better to just off the RGB and use it in normal. You don’t have to worry about that because charging it is very easy. You can charge this through the USB cable and you can actually use it while it’s charging. It charges very quickly.

Logitech G403 Prodigy

A battery life of about 24 hours with the lighting on or around 32 hours with the lighting off. You can also use the mouse while charging as a wired mouse.

WHICH TO BUY?

Both the mouse worked well in games but there is a huge price gap between these mice. The G403 is very pricey than the G703 which retails for $150 and $70 respectively. The design of both the mouse is also the same, so I think the G703 will be a better purchase at a reasonable package.

It may appear a little plain, but the G703 is the best wireless gaming mouse on the market.

And that’s one of the keys to the Logitech G703 gaming mouse: it’s so flexible, and so easily switchable between modes. It exhibits all the mousy goodness one could want. However, while I’m neither here nor there about whether my mouse is wireless or wired, if you’re keen on being untethered, I’d recommend getting the PowerPlay pad as well.
