The A10 is a wired gaming headset that is connected with a 3.5-millimeter jack. It comes in a stylish packaging. The headset itself is durable, has a nice touch, and when worn, it is completely comfortable. Aside from its top-quality finish and nice…

The Astro A10 headset is a really great wired option for anyone looking to get quality audio on a budget. The sound quality is rock solid, the voice experience is perfect for Xbox party chat, and the M60 MixAmp adds extra controls and mic monitoring…

The Astro A10 offers best-in-class build quality and cushy earcups, but it might be too heavy for some. It offers big, dynamic sound, but I give a slight edge to the HyperX Cloud Stinger, which delivers cleaner highs and mids by dialing back the bass a bit.

The Astro A10 won’t win any beauty contests, but compromising looks to focus on audio seems to have paid off here—it sounds way better than its $60 price tag implies.

The Recon 200 looks and sounds better than you’d expect for its price. The fact that you have to plug in and charge a wired headset may be off-putting to some, but it’s a worthwhile trade-off for the thumping audio. It’s a well-made, well-conceived…

Detail Review:

INTRODUCTION:

Astro A10

The design of this headset is simple and normal and the comfort level of the headset is not that much good. The sound quality and the mic is nice as per the price.

Turtle Beach Recon 200

The design and comfort are good enough for this price range. The sound is good for gaming and also music, there are no complaints about it.

DESIGN:

Astro A10

I think the design on this headset is very sleek modern and looks very nice and catches it to the eyes and they did a pretty good job at it. However, the design is very subjective. The headset also comes in red, blue, and green. The color is the only difference.

This headset is very durable and very unlikely to break and it stretches quite far. I’m pretty sure this will probably fit your head and the durability so far it looks pretty good. It’s made out of some metal, it has a metal strip. Then, there’s also measuring measurements on the side so, you should never lose what height you’re using, if someone else is using it can be adjusted. It’s very unlikely to break.

Turtle Beach Recon 200

The design of the headset looks like a gaming headset but not like flimsy. It has a stylish design and the build quality is also good. It doesn’t have any new or special design on it.

For the price, they look amazing, they’re super sturdy. The headband is super thick and they’re a million times better than the Recon 100. They have a retractable mic that’s super easy to set back and pull back to talk or mute.

COMFORT:

Astro A10

The earcups of this headset are relatively very small, so for some people it could be a problem. The tightness of the headset is a little bit like squishing the ears. In this headset, you need to take a rest after long gaming sessions.

There are some negative points in the headset. They are not the most comfortable headset on the market in its price range. However, it’s not the worst either. They definitely put price over comfort on this headset. If you have a big head or large ears, this might not be the most comfortable headset that you’ll use.

For me, in particular, my ears are just way too big for the ear cup and it just barely fits in and it’s a very small ear top. For some people, it might actually be an on-ear type of thing which is very uncomfortable.

The largest con that I have for this headset is the top padding. This particular padding is just not enough. If this has some more padding on the top at least, this could have been so much more comfortable.

Turtle Beach Recon 200

The cushioning on the earcups plenty enough. The ear cups are covered on leather material. This has extremely comfortable cups. The padding on top of the headband is not like enough. The headset is lightweight, so you will not feel any pressure. In my personal opinion, even the high-end headset Stealth 700 is not as good as Recon 200.

FEATURES:

Astro A10

There’s a removable 3.5-millimeter jack which means if you have a mic stand, you would not need to have a wire hanging down on your mic stand which makes the headset looks a lot better if it’s on the mic stand and more of a floating appearance. The wire you get with the headset is way too long, maybe that will be a con or negative point for some people.

The Astro A10 will work for pretty much anything any platform that supports a 3.5-millimeter jack. However, if you are using a Gen 1 controller from Xbox, you would need to get an adapter, so you could plug it into the adapter then plug it into the controller. If you have a Gen 2 controller, it will just plug right into the nice 3.5-millimeter jack That’s pretty helpful too and you can hear yourself talk through that as well if you have a Gen 2 controller. If you’re going to use this headset on a PC, you would need to have a splitter so you can split the audio and the mic into your audio card.

The price is the main selling point on this particular headset. It’s very cheap, especially, for Astro. They’re usually high-end headsets but this one is the first budget headset from Astro and they did a very good job. This headset is coming only at around $60. It’s a very good headset in its price range.

Turtle Beach Recon 200

This can compatible with ps4 and Xbox One, so if you have both consoles, there’s a button on the back you can switch it from Xbox to ps4 or anything and you can also just plug it into your phone.

The ultimate thing about this headset is the price, the price is so cheap. The price and comfort, the quality, the crispness, for how long the last of the battery, and it all comes together to make an awesome headphone.

MICROPHONE:

Astro A10

The Astro A10 has a flip to mute mic. I appreciate that the mic is also made out of rubber. So, you can pretty much twist and turn in any direction you want, mainly it’s back and forth. For gaming, this is a pretty good headset. The mic is very solid. You can use this mic for gaming, webchat, and also any informal communications.

Turtle Beach Recon 200

This also has the same flip to mute mic and it works perfectly. The length of the mic is very short, so it will not look weird. The mic sound is also pretty good. I don’t have any big complaints about the sound of the mic. It does pick up the unwanted sound but for this price, it’s good enough.

SOUND:

Astro A10

I have tested this headset’s sound by playing a few games. The sound of the headset is pretty good for this price range. You can hear footsteps and also low-frequency sounds in-game. The sound of this headset is not that amazing but for this price, I think it’s great.

Both the mic and the in-game sound that you get in this headset sounds very good and very similar to the A40. You can also upgrade in the future and get the potential of surround sound on this headset. The headset also cuts out a lot of noise outside of the headset. You can still hear yourself but it’s going to be very muffled compared to most headsets.

Turtle Beach Recon 200

These Recon 200 are just bassy and have crisp clean audio. I think more the reason why they do sound like this is because it has a cable that has a cord that plugs into your controller and it is actually also a battery-powered. So, not only does it have a cord but it also has a battery and with these two things combined, I think it makes them extra powerful.

I plugged it into my phone listen to some music and they sound phenomenal. The sound is bassy, crisp, and clear sound. Overall, the sound quality is very good. You can clearly hear every sounds like highs and lows in gaming.

WHICH TO BUY?

I feel both the headsets are good enough for their prices. There is no big difference in the price of both the headsets, both the headsets cost around the same. I think the Astro A10 can perfectly fir the small ears and all the other things are good in that. Both the headsets have the small ear cups anyway, so you should buy whatever fits your ears. Other than this, everything in both the headsets is good. Overall I think Astro A10 could be good for you all to buy if it fits you perfectly.
