The big question, then, must be whether the extra 25-30 USD on the HS60’s over the HS50’s, and are they cheap enough to warrant a look over the Void series? Well, to my mind, it’s a very easy ‘yes.’ Admittedly, the extra money spent on gaming…By Gear Diary

Detail Review:
INTRODUCTION:
Corsair HS50
Something a little bit different about this headset is that this is one of the first console aimed headsets that we’ve seen from Corsair. The design, comfort, build quality and almost everything is nice in this headset.
Corsair HS60
The design and the comfort is good and as same as like all the other Corsair headsets. Especially, the comfort is like the Void Pro. The sound of the headset and the mic is good and the surround sound works well.
DESIGN:
Corsair HS50
This had a premium quality to it. This headset really does have a lot of the aesthetics and the comforts that you’d expect from a more high-end headset. We have that nice custom stitching on the inside of the headband, then the subtle Corsair branding and sort of like a leather wrap on the outside of that headband as well.
Now, on the outside of the ear cups we have these nice metal grills that are actually metal and they kind of conceal all the wires in those speakers and everything. So, these all are very clean design.
Corsair HS60
The Corsair HS60 surround sound gaming headsets is built with a firm, rugged, metal structure. The design of this headset is as same as like the HS50 headset. It looks simple and stylish and also good to use outside the door and for travel.
COMFORT:
Corsair HS50
The ear cups themselves have that same memory foam that’s on the Void Pro headset which is really nice, especially for long sessions of gaming. The other thing that I really find great feature is that the ear cups actually fit over your ears rather than how some headsets actually will hit the top of your ear and again that becomes kind of irritable even when the material is pretty soft because over time, they kind of push against that cartilage on your ear. It just gets uncomfortable, so I think that was a big one for them there as well.
Corsair HS60
It has some flexibility to it so that’s great and this means that I can pretty much pit up with everyday gamers environments and maybe a little bit more. Now, these headsets don’t have those telltale gaming headsets where the ear cups lie flat. They have very comfortable plush memory foam, it’s a closed ear cup and it’s also adjustable even better.
They weigh about 11 ounces, so you’re dealing with some nice, lightweight, gaming headsets which is perfect for those lengthy gaming sessions. Also, along the headband part of the headsets is more of that comfy foam lining.
FEATURES:
Corsair HS50
Inside the box, you’ll not get too much accessories and there’s not really much that’s needed for a console only headset. In the box, you have your headset itself, there’s a detachable mic actually a plug for that detachable mic and the splitter for the 3.5. If you wanted to use these headsets on your PC or another device that has a separate audio and mic inputs.
There is a blue variant which I think is gonna be aimed towards the PlayStation people, there’s a green variant for those of you guys who play Xbox and then there is a carbon variant and that one is gonna be for these switch. The thing is they’re all gonna be coming with the same style connector as far as I know but I believe they’re all actually the same headset, it’s just that they’re gonna be kind of aimed at specific consoles based off of the design that they come out.
Corsair HS60
These headsets are wired and they use a 3.5 millimeter connector which pretty much ensures that they’re going to be compatible with many devices. With testing them on a PC with Mac’s, mobile devices, Nintendo switch, ps4 as well as Xbox one and they work quite fine and actually pretty great. When it comes to the Xbox one controller, it just depends on which version you have, you might need one that has the adapter or you have that one that has the 3.5 millimeter jack already. They all work perfectly.
These headsets are 7.1 surround sound but it’s only through the PC and the way these accomplished is by using this adapter which your headset then plugs into and then the USB plugs into your computer and then it has a program.
MICROPHONE:
Corsair HS50
You do get a detachable mic with the headset. So, Corsair not only included a volume dial but they also tucked in a nice mute button for that microphone as well on the same side as the volume adjustment knob.
Now as far as the microphone goes, it’s a little challenging to test because in different platforms the mic seems to kind of co-operate differently.
Te one thing comes in mind it is they’re removable rubber grommet for the mic. Anybody who uses this headset for more than a day with that mic plugged in is probably gonna lose that rubber grommet.
Corsair HS60
When it comes to a gaming headset, a gaming headset isn’t a gaming headset if the mic is garbage. The mic sound is clean, crisp and it’s all being delivered by the flexible un-directional mic. This mic is also detachable, there is a volume button on the left ear cup. There’s also a mute button and the mute button is a simple push to mute.
SOUND:
Corsair HS50
Corsair implemented what they’re calling positional tune 50 millimeter audio drivers. I did some testing with gaming and music, when it comes to these types of headsets and the clarity was great. The quality seemed to be really good. Obviously, there’s not a ton of bass if that’s something you’re looking for then these probably aren’t going to have that but they’re definitely not flat either. So, for a gaming headset I think the sound that you’re getting out of these is great.
Corsair HS60
No matter what kind of game you’re playing or if you’re listening to music, you will be getting an exceptional sound through the 50 millimeter speaker drivers. The output of the highs and the lows are actually about pretty good. They sounded really ideal. So, if it’s a game you’re playing or if it’s music you’re listening to, you’re going to get pretty exceptional sound through the 50 millimeter speaker drivers. The output of the highs and the lows I feel it’s ideal. In other words, you’re not going to get kneeled a super deep bass or the clear super highs then it’s actually perfect for these headsets for the cost that you’re paying for them.
The quality was really good, I really love using them on fortnight because the sound of the enemies around you were so clear, also on the side you can actually adjust the volume of the headsets itself, so that’s also great.
WHICH TO BUY?
The design of both the headsets is almost the same one. Most of the features is also same. The mic is also sounds good for gaming or any other casual use in both the headsets.
There is one major difference between that is the HS50 is stereo sound while the HS60 is the surround sound headset and with that the price also differs. The HS50 will come around for $50 and HS60 will be in $65. So, both the headsets are good to buy but if you want surround sound and had this much budget, the HS60 will be good choice, otherwise HS50 is also good to use.
