All things considered, the Logitech G933’s are an absolute steal. Everything from the exceptional microphone quality, to the brilliance of the surround sound and the customization of the lighting, this headset is perfect for any gamer in need of an upgrade

I don’t know if you can get a better all-around gaming headset. The G933 can handle gaming easily. Its built-in mic is really clear, so you’re going to have no problem communicating. But it can also break away from your computer to work well with consoles or a smartphone. I love rocking out in my car to My Morning Jacket while wearing G933. I can even take a call using the headset. It just easily handles any situation you throw at it, which I think makes it an incredible value for the price.

The Logitech G933 would be a pretty good headset at its list price of $200. At its pretty-much-permanent sale price of $150 to $180, it’s probably the best price-to-performance ratio you can get for a wireless headset right now.

Detail Review:

INTRODUCTION:

Logitech G933

This is basically an update to the Logitech G930 which had been a staple on the market for quite some time. This headset offers good sound quality and a lot many features for gaming. If you’re a PC or PS4 gamer then this will be good for you.

Corsair Void Pro RGB Wireless

This headset is also one of the popular gaming headsets out there. In this price range, I can definitely say this one is a great package and worth buying one.

DESIGN:

Logitech G933

The build itself is mostly plastic but it’s solid. You’ve got some aluminum inside the adjustments. It’s a solid build. These are lighter than a lot of headphones that I’ve used. The one downside I might say is that they are huge. There’s really no way around that they just kind of sit on the head.

The construction overall is good. For an all-plastic build, basically it keeps it light but it keeps it nice.

Corsair Void Pro RGB Wireless

The headset itself is very attractive in my opinion. The body on the ear cups is made from a combination of matte and shiny black plastic which makes for a very nice aesthetic. As always the glossy black portion is wonderful at picking up and showing fingerprints that look so amazing.

Within the glossy black portion of the ear cup is the Corsair sales logo which is where the RGB LEDs are located. Personally, I think it looks amazing with the sales in white when you leave the LEDs off and don’t really get the point of RGB lighting on a headset since you can’t see them while you’re wearing them.

The swing arms that attach the ear cups to the headband are made from some kind of metal that gives the headset a nice high-quality feel.

COMFORT:

Logitech G933

You’ve got these nice lay-flat ear cups. So, if you want to just take them off and lay them, these are some of the more comfortable lay-flat ear cups that I have tried. They don’t choke me which is nice.

The headband is well padded and it’s in a great spot, it really sits nicely on the head which works well. The overall clamping force of the headphones is pretty good. It’s not too tight as long you get it adjusted right as you need it to be. The earcup adjustments themselves are just way too loose, it’s really hard to get them even and it’s really hard to get them to stay where they are much like the volume knob. Overall, the headset is kind of strangely balanced. It has to sit further toward the front of your head in order to sort of stay and if it does get too loose, it will fall right off the back of your head.

I didn’t have any pain on the top band when I was using it. One thing which may be a problem for some people is that the fabric material gets hot according to the place. So, keep that in mind if you have sweaty ears.

The major negative point for me is the balance of the headset is kind of weird. It wants to sit further forward on your head and if you don’t have them adjusted right, they will fall off. This fabric material is nicer than the previous generation of Logitech earpads but it is still kind of coarse and not super comfortable.

Corsair Void Pro RGB Wireless

According to Corsair, the padding on the ear cups are made from memory foam covered with a microfiber mesh fabric. I can attest that they are very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time as I have worn them for dozens of gaming sessions as well as for many consecutive hours.

The headband itself is made of matte black plastic with memory foam padding and the same microfiber mesh fabric found on the ear cups. The headband has a ton of adjustments to it and can fit many different sizes of heads. This headset seems to be made for people with larger diameter heads, I prefer it on its smallest setting as I feel it fits my head the most snugly that way. To wear the headset around my neck, I like to adjust the headband as big as it will go, otherwise, it feels small.

FEATURES:

Logitech G933

This is a little bit of an update with tons of RGB lighting along with the backside and G keys, so you can easily set up on your PC. It’s got an easy-to-find volume knob, it’s a little loose. It’s got a power switch on the top. You will get some nice foamy pads, they’re removable and replaceable.

You’ve got some tags on the ear cups where you’ve got the dongle in one and then on the other side, you have the replaceable battery which was kind of a nice touch. On the bottom of the left ear cup, you’ve got a charging port and a 3.5 millimeter, a micro USB.

The thing that I really like is the wireless dongle and its portability. This makes it so easy to just pull from one place and take it to another place.

Initially, these things are set up to go to sleep at 5 minutes. You can change that in the software and I have it set to 15 and that works well for me but they’re incredibly difficult to wake up once they get into sleep mode.

Corsair Void Pro RGB Wireless

The void Pro gives up to 16-hour battery life, up to 40-foot Wireless range, and 7.1 surround sound. In the box, we have the headset itself, the wireless transmitter/ receiver, and then the USB charging cable. On the left ear cup is where all the action lies, a power button, mute button, volume rocker, micro-USB port, and the power/battery level indicator light.

One thing I did want to mention is when I have the wireless receiver plugged into one of the USB ports on the back of my PC, the headset would randomly cut out. I tried many things but it didn’t work. I finally tried it on one of my front panel USB ports and since then it’s been working flawlessly, no more disconnects. If you purchase a Void Pro and experience random disconnects, try plugging it into a front panel USB port instead of the last thing.

Corsair advertises the range up to 40 feet or 12 meters of wireless range. When you first load up the Corsair utility engine where all of your Corsair CUE enabled devices will be displayed. If you click on the gear icon up, it will then take you to the global settings. You can update your headsets firmware, check the level of the battery, and adjust a couple of other options. This also will turn the voice prompts on or off. The voice prompts will confirm for you when you’ve turned your headset on or off, muted or unmuted your mic, enabled or disabled the surround sound, and it will let you know when your battery is getting low.

There’s also an option to help you save battery power by shutting off the headset after a certain amount of inactivity. The cool feature here is that it allows you to custom set the amount of time before the headset automatically shuts off. The last thing is the brightness slider which allows you to adjust the intensity of the headset lighting.

There’s also the option of output volume adjuster of mic and sidetone. Below the two sliders is the button to toggle between stereo and Dolby surround sound. You can also customize the RGB lighting as per your wish. In the EQ presets tab there are five default presets built-in and personally I prefer to just use pure direct. You can of course create your own custom EQ presets if you’re into that sort of thing. As for me, this headset is the first and foremost gaming headset, and the default settings work perfectly for me in that department.

MICROPHONE:

Logitech G933

Your microphone just sort of lays out. It does have an adjustable thing but it doesn’t have a lot of play to it, this is solid plastic, and this kind of just moves towards the mouth. The mic does sound pretty good. All in all, a pretty decent mic in my opinion. I thought this mic was better than expected and pretty good honestly. You can do noise reduction in this if you enable it in the software. I would prefer a more flexible mic but this one works well.

Corsair Void Pro RGB Wireless

The microphone boom is also attached to the left ear cup and is very flexible and can be bent and positioned. However, it works best for you. To mute the mic, you can use the mute button on the outside of the ear cup or simply flip the boom up into the vertical position. When the mic is muted, the red indicator light illuminates to let you know.

I think the mic works so well. You can clearly hear the human voices and there’s no struggles in it to use. This mic will definitely good for the gaming and party chat or anything like that.

BATTERY:

Logitech G933

The battery life is stated at 8 hours and that’s about what I’ve been getting. The battery life could be a little bit better compared to other wireless headsets on the market but I have not had any problem getting through plenty of time without needing to charge.

Corsair Void Pro RGB Wireless

I actually found it to be better than advertised. Corsair claims up to 16 hours of battery life and I actually found with the RGB lights turned off my headset lasted over 18 hours on a single charge and with the RGB lights on, it actually performed better than I was expecting it to. It didn’t make it to the advertised 16 hours but Charging time isn’t too bad either after fully depleting the battery, it took about three and a half hours to fully recharge.

As the battery gets low there is an audible low battery warning. You can continue to use the headset while it’s charging. However, the USB cable is for charging only, it does not carry data to and from the headset. You must leave the wireless dongle plugged into your computer for the headset to continue working, this then means in order to use and charge the headset at the same time, you’ll need to populate two USB ports on your computer. I imagine for people using these with a laptop or some other small form-factor computer with fewer available USB ports, this could pose an issue.

SOUND:

Logitech G933

I was pleasantly surprised by the sound. Logitech has been doing this for a long time and they are their perennial player in the gaming headset. They’re one of the first. In terms of the sound, there’s nice and full just on the flat EQ, and on the flat EQ, they sound fantastic. Maybe there should be just enough bass maybe a little bit of a hump but not that much. All the other frequencies were coming through the top-end is there but it’s not too shrill.

On the Logitech software, there are several presets already available and there is plenty of surround sound options. But, there is a more bass-heavy option right down from flat and I felt that sound sounded pretty good too, it didn’t overpower me with the bass. Some of the surround options were there and cinematic surround and gaming surround. The flat and the drop the bass presets were the ones that I liked best.

These things also have Dolby and DTS X headphone surround and while surround is not necessarily my thing, I prefer stereo. Your mileage may vary when it comes to surround sound and this has plenty of options for you. There are very flexible EQ options as well, there’s adjustable sidetone in the software and when you make adjustments in the EQ, it gets saved into the headset. So, your sidetone will stay right where you want it to be and will never go anywhere else and you can get plenty of sidetones, it was really a pleasure.

Overall, this headset sounds incredibly good. One of my favorite things about this headset is that if you want to move from PC to console and use the USB, a lot of times your volume output on the console will suffer. In ps4, these things had plenty of volume and plenty of room to spare.

Corsair Void Pro RGB Wireless

When it comes to audio quality, the Void Pro sounds great. I use to do some gaming, listen to some music, watch youtube videos, and even watched a movie. Overall, they sounded great. They did distort a bit when listening to music with a lot of bass but that was also with the bass boost EQ preset enabled. So, once I switched to another preset that one away. The 7.1 surround sound is emulated surround and to be honest when gaming I don’t know that I could hear much of a difference when it came to directional sound between the Dolby 7.1 surround and the stereo setting.

There is a shortcut built into the headset that allows you to turn the 7.1 surround sound on and off without opening up the Corsair utility engine software. The volume rocker has a button built into it and you can hold it in for a second or so to activate or deactivate the 7.1 surround. A single quick press of the button will cycle between the different EQ presets and pressing the rocker up or towards the back your head turns the volume up and pushing it down or toward your mouth turns the volume down.

WHICH TO BUY?

Both these headsets are pretty nice for gaming. The price point is very different and also the features and sound quality. So, considering all the features of battery, sound, and also the price, I think Corsair Void Pro Wireless will be great to buy. As a package, this will be great for you.

On the other side, the Logitech G933 is also good one to pick if you are PC or ps4 player and like all the features this one has.
