Detailed Review

INTRODUCTION:

Logitech M325

Logitech M325 mouse is really made for web browsing as they claim, but it’s good for general purpose use, you can use it for work or personal use. This one is much smaller and lighter compared to other mice. This mouse is reliable. It’s easy to install and is very useful. This one, in particular, was a special edition and it does come with a USB wireless receiver and you can easily connect it to your computer. As it comes with a unifying receiver, so you don’t need to buy a separate unifying receiver.

Logitech M185

The Logitech M185 is a simple and affordable mouse. This mouse is available in grey, blue, and, red color. The mouse is designed for both right and left-handed users. It is a plug-and-play mouse, so it will work virtually on all the computers without installing any software or drivers. Its contoured shape design gives good comfort in hand. It has easy scrolling and smooth cursor control. It comes with a 3-year limited hardware warranty.

DESIGN & COMFORT:

Logitech M325

This mouse is made out of plastic. It has a contoured shape which is very much comfortable. They do have a variety of different designs and colors, instead of just solid plain colors. So that you can choose the mouse which fits with your personality. This is also very easy and lightweight. It has a compact size and easy to take around, doesn’t take up much space in your bag.

The mouse is very fast and responsive. It’s a smaller and tiny mouse, it fits well in hand. It just feels quite neat and is very light due to its soft rubber grips. The scroll is not super smooth but allows you to hear the sound. It uses the bail force to move the scroll. Generally, you just have to press it once and let it scroll forever, but this one is not like that. So it’s a great little mouse.

Logitech M185

The design of this mouse is very ergonomic and symmetrical. So, it can be used by both right-handed and left-handed people. The top part has a nice matte texture to it. The top of this mouse comes in a grey color but it also comes in different colors i.e. red and blue.

The mouse fits really comfortably into the hand. The mouse buttons and scroll wheel, fall into a natural position. Having said that, this mouse is smaller than a typical mouse, the person with large hands may find this mouse a bit too small. Though it’s a small Mouse, it’s very easy to get used to if you are coming from a bigger mouse. Generally, the smaller mice are too uncomfortable but this is totally fine. The bottom part doesn’t get scratched up due to the raised legs.

M325

FEATURES & PERFORMANCE:

Logitech M325

This mouse doesn’t have side buttons and it’s only got 3 buttons i.e. left and right and middle scroll. When you click on the left and right buttons it’s very light, it’s not really loud like other computer mice. So that’s really great about it. There are two arrows there pointing left and right near the scroll wheel for going back and forwards on webpages. So, you can move it on both ways, that’s just to go back and forth between webpages. It’s a 1000 DPI mouse, definitely not a gaming mouse but playing games like Fortnite is totally fine. This is perfect for general use or things like video editing.

On the backside of the mouse, there is an on and off button. So, when you’re not using it you could turn it off, and then, when you want to use it you could turn it back on. There is a battery compartment where you can save your batteries. There is also a place to keep a unifying receiver. It works with Apple, macOS X 10.5 or later, Linux Kernel 2.6 or later, Microsoft Windows, Vista / XP / 7.

There is a small receiver for no additional side bulks, which is pretty easy to use and it fits right on your computer and gets easily connected and after that, you just have to turn on the mouse. This mouse is unifying, it’s got the unifying logo, so you can connect up multiple devices. It has 10 hours of usage per day for work and personal use and it’s really great. It has a good signal it would not have any lag.

Logitech M185

The M185 is plug and play mouse. You just have to plug in the little dongle and then the mouse is good to go. It doesn’t require software, it doesn’t come with a CD and you don’t have to download or install any special software to use this. The M185 features instant pairing technology with a range of up to 10 meters, which is pretty good. It runs on 2.4 gigahertz wireless. This gives a reliable and stable connection. In terms of navigating and real-world using this mouse, it is pretty easy to use.

At the top of the mouse, you have 3 main buttons; the right click left click, and the middle scroll button, which you can also click. The buttons have a nice satisfying clicking sound and the scroll wheel is clickable too. The tracking is perfect and it works with almost all operating systems like Windows, Mac OS, or Chrome OS. At the backside of the mouse, there’s an on / off switch, and down there is an optical sensor. Also, there is a battery compartment that slides open to reveal the AA battery and the wireless USB receiver.

Another feature of this mouse is inside the battery compartment you will find a little section, where you can store the USB dongle. This is really convenient because, without the USB dongle, this mouse is useless. If the dongle is not being used and not plugged into the computer, then it’s easy to lose because it is small. By having a spot to store the dongle, in theory, you won’t lose it when you’re not using it, which will save you having to throw out this mouse just because you’ve lost the dongle. The wireless USB receiver is very small and after connecting to the laptop, you will barely notice its presence. You can keep the receiver inside the mouse when you’re traveling and this is really helpful. The range is around 10 meters which is more than enough.

This mouse is fine for surfing the web or general browsing or even editing videos. This mouse has a DPI of 1000, DPI stands for Dots Per Inch. It’s basically, measuring how responsive the mouse is to finer, more detailed movements. This is really important for someone who’s maybe a competitive gamer or a graphic designer, somebody who needs to have really accurate and detailed fine movements of the mouse. But most of the people are not like that, so if you just want a mouse to use for everyday computing, surfing the web, and just general use, this mouse is fine.

BATTERY:

Logitech M325

The battery life of this mouse is up to 18 months. The battery just lasts a lot longer than an average Mouse. It’s very easy to put in the battery, you just have to take out the bottom portion right and insert the battery. It only takes one battery i.e. AA battery which is already pre-installed in the mouse.

Logitech M185

This mouse runs on a single AA battery. The battery life of this mouse is up to 12 months. The battery comes pre-installed in the mouse. The company advertises a year of battery life and, even some people reviewed that it runs more than a year without changing the battery.

M325

WHICH TO BUY?

The Logitech M325 has a battery life up to 18 months, while the Logitech M185 has 12 months of battery life. Both have contoured shape but the sides of the M325 has rubber grips for a better hold, while M185 has plastic sides which are not comfortable. In Logitech M325 the scroll wheel has a tilt function for horizontal scrolling as well as the usual back and forward, while in M185 scroll wheel is in the center of the mouse. Both mice have the same size. Both the mice have 3 buttons.

I will recommend M325 as the battery life of this mouse is more than M185. Logitech M325 has different colors and pattern options. Logitech M325 is much better designed than M185. M325 has a tilting wheel and extra two buttons. Also, Logitech M185 is a little bit smaller than M325. But, if you are looking for a small reliable, and comfortable mouse and don’t want to spend a lot then go for M185, it’s totally worth the money.

By HARDWAREZONE
From the specifications and design choices, it seems that Logitech intended the M325 to be used for standard every day usage rather than for the specific task of gaming. Wireless functionality and the Unifying Nano-receiver de-clutter your desktop, especially if you are using other wireless Logitech products as well. Browsing and scrolling through the Web and documents are without doubt the forte of this mouse. The 72-ratchet scroll wheel definitely brings precision to the table and helps when sifting through lengthy text documents or zooming in and…

Quite aside from the unique designs across its top, Logitech’s latest ambidextrous portable wireless mouse is comfortable to hold, features an evolutionary combined micro-gear scroll wheel, lasts up to 18 months on a single AA battery and uses a unifying Nano receiver. The M325’s only potential weakness is that it sports a ‘dated’ optical sensor…

The USB stick is really a nub. It sticks out less than a centimeter from the USB port so you can leave it plugged in when you stuff your laptop back in your bag. The mouse itself is small too. It conveniently fits in any pocket—even my jeans. As someone with big hands, I thought the small size would suck but I don’t even notice it. I use it comfortably every day from…
