Detail Review

INTRODUCTION:

Logitech MX Vertical Mouse

The design and the way of using this mouse are very different than a normal mouse. The thought of design and the reason behind the design is different and good for the users and their wrists when people start using the mouse for long periods.

Anker Vertical Mouse

If you experience wrist pain after using your mouse for extended periods of time, it may be time to consider an ergonomic mouse. This is the cheap vertical mouse nowadays comparing to the premium Logitech and Evoluent vertical mouse.

DESIGN & COMFORT:

Logitech MX Vertical Mouse

This using a 57-degree angle which is a much more natural position for your wrist to be in. For example, you just rest your hand on the desk, it’s gonna be a similar angle to that unlike using a traditional mouse where you actually have to rotate your wrist a little bit to use it. It just takes a little bit of pressure off your wrist and gives you a 10% reduction and muscular strain, now that may not sound a lot, but over time, that’s gonna be a lot of stress on your wrist and if you have problems such as RSI, if we already have existing problems in your hands and wrists, this is gonna help ease that and give you a much more comfortable experience when using your mouse.

There is essentially quite a lot of empty space in the mouse because you’re shifting the switches to obviously a vertical position, there’s a lot of space that needs to be taken up to it allow your hand to rest at that angle. It does make it look a lot heavier than it is as well. This is very light, so you could carry it around with you. Just because of the nature of the mouse and the design, it is gonna be a little bit chunky, especially when you look at it from the side.

Anker Vertical Mouse

While this vertical mouse does look a little oddly shaped at first, it’s ergonomically designed thumb rest and grips are designed to fit the comfort of your palm for maximum comfort. In terms of its advanced features, this mouse is built to deliver smoother movement, improved accuracy, and customizable settings.

As opposed to most other ergonomic mice, this Anker mouse is designed with a vertical grip and strangely enough, its shape is made to fit the human hand perfectly. This Anker Wireless Vertical Mouse encourages healthy neutral handshake wrist and arm positions for smoother movement and less overall strain on your wrists.

In terms of its weight, although this mouse does look rather large compared to standard smaller mice, it only weighs about 95 grams. This lightweight design really helps with this ergonomic comfort by helping ease the hand and wrist tension that some heavier mice can cause.

In terms of its build, it has a really solid feel to it. Although it’s made of plastic material, the grip is solid and it feels well-constructed and although it comes in an unconventional shape, this Anker vertical mouse does not sacrifice accuracy for comfort. The four small feet on the bottom of this mouse also provide smooth movement which definitely helps when you’re learning how to use it. In terms of its design, this mouse has a pretty futuristic look. With its black matte finish and its rubbery plastic grip, it makes the mouse pretty much fingerprint-proof.

FEATURES & PERFORMANCE:

Logitech MX Vertical Mouse

You can connect this mouse with the unifying receiver all by Bluetooth and it also supports “Flow” which allows you to power up to three devices in a seamlessly switch between them. It’s also got 4000 dpi, high precision center as well which can give you four times less hand movement to reduce muscle fatigue. Also, you got a nice adjustment for the DPI on the top of the mouse as well.

You do have a backward and forward button, these can be remapped in the Logitech Options software to whatever you want, there’s a whole lot of different things. Just in front of that, you’ve got a small LED which indicates charging and when the device is full, it flashes when it’s in charge, and then when it’s full, it will stay solid green. On the rear of the mouse, we’ve got a nice textured back which is very nice to have your hand around.

We’ve got the left and right-click as well as a scroll wheel, you can’t invert the way that scrolls you wish to do that. You also have a middle button on that scroll wheel as well but there isn’t any left to right movement. At the back of the logo, we’ve got a quick DPI switch, you can remap that in the software. Not much going on on the bottom of the mouse, the sensor, a power button, and then the option to go between the three profiles.

It’s gonna be a little bit of adjustment, it’s even mentioned on the box actually it got from going from a normal mouse to this one. It takes really quick adjustment and after you kind of get used to the fact that you’re moving the bottom of your wrist unlike having it flat, it was really easy to adjust to. You do have to put a little bit more pressure kind of with a clamping motion, so you’re not dragging your hand along the desk. If you’re gonna be using a mousepad, it’s not too much of a problem but you might have a little bit of comfort after a while. So, there’s a little bit of adjustment in terms of the kind of gripping it properly. If you use a high DPI, you wouldn’t even have to move your arm if you just move your wrist as well.

It does have Bluetooth, so if you’re taking it around you could just connect with that. If you’re someone that needs to do a lot of clicking drag options maybe you’re doing things in Excel or maybe even Photoshop with it, for example, you may find a little bit of difficulty with the clicking and dragging at the same time because you need to put sideways pressure while you’re moving, it’s a little bit tricky to do certainly easier with a normal mouse. The downside of this mouse is the price, we can get more affordable options which are of a lesser-known brand and just micro USB to charge rather than USB-C but if you Logitech fan, you know they do build great products and they do last a long time. so you do get a bit of a trade-off with paying that premium.

You do have a good dpi range up to 4,000 that starts at 400 as well, so you definitely gonna be able to get a setting that works for you. Overall, it’s a solid performer is a little bit expensive but the USB-C connectivity and the Logitech build do add that little bit of a price premium.

Anker Vertical Mouse

This Mouse combines a handshake grip with easy access buttons and three levels of mouse sensitivity 800, 1200, or 1600 DPI for improved tracking. These three levels of mouse sensitivity really give you nice and smooth precise tracking on a wide range of surfaces.

It’s next in previous buttons located on the side provide convenience when browsing the web. In terms of its power-saving after eight minutes of being idle, this mouse then enters power-saving mode – the power is turned completely off. To simply turn it back on, you just simply press the right or left button. It is important to note that this mouse is specifically designed for right-handed users. At the current time, there’s not a left-handed mouse version but hopefully, in the future, they’ll make a left-handed one as well.

When using a standard optical mouse, you tend to shift your wrist from left to right frequently and for extended periods of time, this can really add up and cause RSI or repetitive strain injury. When you bend your elbows and rest your arms on the desk in a natural position, your hands are shaped vertically and they’re not shaped down flat. So, using a standard optical mouse, this tends to cause that repetitive strain injury. If you see the Anker Vertical Mouse, this tends to go with your arms natural flow when you bend your elbows and with this Anker vertical mouse instead of shifting your wrist from left to right, you’re now moving your arm left and right, up and down in a very natural movement.

The thing made it a lot easier for a first-time user of ergonomic mice is that a lot of other economic mice have like a trackball which I felt was really hard to do and I felt it might take a long time to get used to but with this one, it’s the same design as a standard optical mouse. It’s just tilted vertically for a more natural feel. So, there’s really no learning curve on this mouse which was a big plus. Keeping in mind that this vertical mouse only has one side, the opposite side provides plenty of room to rest your thumb.

On the bottom concave section next to the thumb rest, there’s a blue LED light that shines to show when there’s a low battery or when you turn it on. This mouse is rated at 1 million clicks and the left and right buttons are pretty fast, especially for a Productivity mouse. Do keep in mind that this is not a gaming mouse but for a Productivity mouse, the buttons do pop up back pretty quickly. I found the top buttons pretty easy to click with a very little accidental click as well and I really think its vertical design helps reduce his accidental clicking.

In terms of its scroll wheel when scrolling slowly, the wheel locks into each notch but when you scroll a little bit faster, the notches do feel a little less apparent. It’s top DPI button works pretty well too and it feels just as responsive as the left and right clicks. You can easily reach this DPI button with your thumb as well. Being able to adjust its DPI is perfect when editing images or requiring something that needs more precision. Likewise, its forward and back buttons located on the underside can also be reached with your thumb.

In terms of its connectivity, this mouse broadcast over a 2.4 gigahertz frequency with the USB adapter. I feel you never find the mouse to disconnect from the receiver. If you ever plan to travel with this mouse, you can insert the USB adapter on the bottom of the mouse. Its optical sensor is pretty good for a productivity mouse and while the sensor isn’t the selling point of this mouse, I do love that it’s DPI can be adjusted to either 800, 1200, or 1600 DPI.

In terms of installation, there’s no software to install and there are no drivers to install, it’s pretty much plug-and-play. Just plug the adapter in and you’re ready to go.

BATTERY:

Logitech MX Vertical Mouse

One thing that’s really grabbed me about this is the battery. Three hours of use from this mouse just from one minute charge and it actually goes for four months on a full charge. It is very nice to see USB-C on this mouse. Also where the fast recharge rate comes from as well you being USB-C power through it, very impressive to be able to charge it for a minute and get three hours out of it.

The battery absolutely superb up to four months. Lots of Logitech devices are pretty good and pretty precise at the battery life that they give you.

Anker Vertical Mouse

The mouse has about a three-month battery life when using the mouse on average between 8 to 12 hours a day. I think the battery life is enough and amazing like other premium vertical mice.

WHICH TO BUY?

Choosing the best mouse really depends on what computer you’re using and what your budget is. If you’re on a tight budget I would recommend the Anker Vertical Mouse. However, if you want something more premium and you don’t mind spending the extra cash, I would suggest getting the Logitech MX Vertical. Also, MX Vertical has many more things and features than Anker Mouse. The Anker mouse will work with Mac but you won’t be able to use the shortcuts. So, if not having shortcuts on a Mac is fine for you, then the Anker mouse would work perfectly for you.

Overall, I feel Anker Vertical mouse is a pretty solid productivity mouse for the price and it’s definitely a great entry-level ergonomic mouse as well. It’s not designed to be a professional gaming mouse, so all the features are pretty adequate for casual gaming but definitely not for professional gamers. Most other ergonomic mouse’s come with a trackball but if you want an easy transition and low learning curve from your standard optical mouse to an ergonomic mouse, this might be the option for you, especially if you wanted to try to alleviate some wrist pain that you may be having.

The Logitech MX Ergonomic Mouse is unlike any mouse I’ve used before but I hope to see more like it in the future.

By Geeklingo.net
The Logitech MX Vertical is a great mouse if you spend most of your computer time coding or working on documents. Gamers may still prefer a traditional mouse design as they tend to be less bulky; this was just fine for our needs. After the initial adjustment period moving to the vertical form factor, our only real complaint was the lack of hyper-scrolling.

By Ausdroid
With a hefty price tag, this mouse wont be for everyone, but if you suffer from RSI, or any other sort of muscle issue due to mouse use, this mouse could be a cheaper option than GP visits and physio appointments.

By Techguide
The Logitech MX Vertical will change the way you use your mouse for the better. It does take some adjustment but the long term result for users who spent a lot of time on their computer will be high productivity but with less strain and fatigue.

Don’t get me wrong: despite its issues, the Anker 2.4G Wireless Vertical Mouse is well worth your money. It’s simple, comfortable, and it won’t break the bank. It’s priced low enough to “just try it out”. And the chances are you’ll be very happy with it, if you’re right handed.
