Detail Review:

INTRODUCTION:

Logitech Wireless Headset H800

The Logitech Wireless Headset H800 is currently retailing for around a hundred and thirty-five dollars. These are one of the older popular headset still existing in the market. As these are older models these may use some old technologies but the sound experience in these are pretty good.

Logitech Wireless Headset Dual H820e

The Logitech Wireless Headset Dual H820e is currently retailing for around two hundred and thirty dollars which are quite expensive compared to the H800. The Logitech Wireless Headset H820e is available in both dual and mono versions.

DESIGN:

Logitech Wireless Headset H800

Some of the controls on the right side you’ll notice there on the earcup are that you have the right symbol for the right ear. You’ll also find your controls on the right side those are your volume up, your volume down, the mute function that you can tap on, you also have your answer call function, also you have your play-pause so that is a multi-function button. If we flip it on the bottom of the right earcup what you notice there is you’ll have your micro USB charging connector. Then you have the ability to also shuffle forward or back and it has a nice little toggle that allows you to move forward a song or skip a track depending on what you’re doing when it comes to listening to music.

You also have the switch that allows you to go from the off position to what would be your Bluetooth connection. So this is if you are connecting to like your PC via Bluetooth or you connected to your PC via cell phone for example that’s Bluetooth or any other device that’s using a Bluetooth connection. Then there is a little symbol indicates that you’re connecting to the actual dongle, so you would flip it from position to position depending on the type of connection you’d want to have. You can only have one device connected at a time, so you can’t be on your PC and then it automatically switches to your phone if a phone call comes in. It’s only paired to one device at a time and it’s either going to be the USB dongle or it’s going to be the Bluetooth connection on the other side.

There isn’t really much there on the left side. Outside of it indicating and telling you that this is the left side. You’ll also notice that you have kind of like a dot there and an open side but what this is going to do for you is it’s going to allow you to open that compartment. So if you twist it, it will come up and you’ll find is a little compartment for the USB dongle. If you’re not going to use the USB dongle, what you could do is you can just store it in there in that compartment. This is a great feature for me because I always losing the dongle but in these, you can place your dongle in there. It also shows the closed position and showing you right there based on that symbol which side to twist to open and close back. If you keep the dongle in there and it is closed, you won’t get it lost.

The thing I’ll notice a highlight for you in these is that unlike some Beats headsets or some of the other headsets that are out there, this is not over the ear headset where it actually covers your ear. It’s an on the ear fit so when you place this on your head this is going to be against your ear. It will be based on this design you may hear some music if it’s very loud because it’s not covering your ear like some of the Bose models or even if you look at some of the Beats Executives where they actually cover your ear. So that’s a difference in this design.

Logitech Wireless Headset Dual H820e

Because you’ll be wearing the headset and not able to see the buttons, they’ve tried to make them easy to access without inadvertently hitting the wrong one. For example, for the volume up and down buttons simply slide your fingers along the headband and you’ll land right on top of them. Microphone mute is simply done by pinching the mute button there and you can see that it actually turns on a led that you’ll be able to tell you’re on mute. The call answering button is located at the end of the boom right there. Perhaps a word about the call answer end button on the headset, this button will function in applications such as Skype for business, other applications such as Google Hangouts or face time may not support it but all other functions will still work.

COMFORT:

Logitech Wireless Headset H800

The actual headset also has some nice foam there on the top of the headband so that you’re not putting a lot of pressure on your head. Another thing it’s unlike some of the Beats headsets where you feel like you have a weight in your head. But this is very pliable, so it’s very flexible and it does have a plastic feel to it so it doesn’t feel like it’s a premium headset based on what you pay for this but it is lightweight. It weighs around 7.2 ounces so very lightweight and it doesn’t feel to have a lot of pressure when you put it around your head.

It has a decent amount of foam and it should fit rather nicely and you will notice it does have some give as you move it from left to right. The headset does extend so that depending on the size or shape you have you would be able to extend it. It can be extended on both sides however, it does not fold. So it’s not the type that folds and not the design where it either tilts this way or it tilts that way. You won’t get that with this actual headset.

Logitech Wireless Headset Dual H820e

These headsets are really very comfortable and have very well padded ear cups. You can get this with a single cup or a double cup. I went with the double cup because I thought I might use it to listen to music while at work but in reality, I probably won’t and I would have gone with a single cup which is a little more comfortable for me. These are really quite comfortable.

FEATURES:

Logitech Wireless Headset H800

Inside the box, you’ll find your actual headset, it does come with a USB nano receiver, it also includes an instruction guide and it also brings a micro USB charging cable so that’s what you’d use to charge the headset. It does not come with a case which is another thing that I saw for the price. You don’t really have something like you have with again some of the other brands that bring a case for the actual headset. It has the boom mic that slides out right there inside. It’ll give you the ability to actually speak. You can notice on the mic there are two finishes there a rubber finish and then there’s the plastic finish. You can also bend the mic as you want and can turn the angle if you need it to get close to your mouth or you can spread it out as it’s very flexible.

Why you’d want to have this type of headset is this headset supports both Bluetooth and it uses the USB dongle. The Bluetooth function of the headset will allow you to pair up to seven devices. So you can have seven different devices that this headset will connect to but you can only have it connected to one device at a time. It also includes a boom mic, that you can use when you are on your cell phone if you have this paired with your cell phone if you have this connected to your laptop if you have this connected to a tablet for example your iPad, where you’re doing some FaceTime or skyping. So, it uses 7 devices using the Bluetooth functionality with this device.

The USB dongle also allows you to connect to your PC and especially if you have an older laptop or laptop that doesn’t have Bluetooth it allows you to connect. In other words, you have seven devices that you can connect to the Bluetooth and then 1/8 using this where you connect to a laptop. Again this USB dongle is an optional way, that you can connect to your laptop. You don’t really need to use it if you choose not to but once again it comes down to if you have Bluetooth or not.

Logitech Wireless Headset Dual H820e

Inside the package, you’ll find documentation, headset, charging stand, USB cable, and power supply. The headsets are available in both mono and dual versions. Both feature a padded headband and padded ear pads. If you find the headset a little bit too tight, you can actually just gently bend the headset and that will give you a little more room on the ears. The boom is able to rotate to either side let you choose the side you want to have the microphone boom on. This happens to be the double cup version. It comes in with the charging stand, which is a very sturdy stand. You have two indicators on there you have one indicator that says you’re paired, and the other indicator says that you’re plugged in.

Once you’ve connected the headset you’ll want to ensure that the H820e is selected as the appropriate audio device in your system settings. Click on start, then control panel, then sound, under the playback tab, select the H820e, drop down, and click default communication device. Also, ensure that in the recording area it is selected as the default device. If you’re using a video conferencing application you need to ensure that it’s selected as the appropriate device in that as well. As an example, with zoom on settings and again ensure the H820e is selected as both the microphone and the speaker.

The H820e uses decked wireless technology. If you’re in an environment with a number of other decked headsets and you find the audio quality degrading, you may want to switch to narrowband mode. Simply move the switch from W to N, unplug and then replug in the power and you’ll be in narrowband mode.

BATTERY:

Logitech Wireless Headset H800

It will last on one charge approximately six to seven hours. They get six hours as what the manufacturer says when it comes to the actual battery life. This headset uses the micro USB for charging which is pretty good. However, in 2020 USB Type-C is more preferable. Still, these are good as these are one of the older model headsets in the market.

Logitech Wireless Headset Dual H820e

Installing a wireless headset is easy. Simply connect the power supply and USB cable, then connect the USB cable to your computer. We recommend charging the headset for a few hours before you first use it. The manufacturer claims ten hours of battery life in these which really great.

SOUND:

Logitech Wireless Headset H800

One of the things about this headset that I’m looking forward to is the fact that it is one headset that will work on multiple devices if you are someone who has an Xbox headset or someone who has a wireless headset for your cell phone and you find yourself switching between headsets especially when you think about the iPhones, the iPads, or the Android phones, and Android tablets and other gaming devices still you could get a better sound or gaming experience from this headset. These are loud enough to get the gaming experience.

Logitech Wireless Headset Dual H820e

The sound quality is pretty good in these headphones. The microphone helps in cancel out the outside noise and it gives us a great sound experience. They sound pretty good for the price they bear. These are really useful during work hours.

WHICH ONE IS BETTER?

In my opinion, the Logitech Wireless Headset H820e is better than the Logitech Wireless Headset H800 because it sounds good, performs good, and has better battery life than the H800.

Expert reviews of Logitech Wireless Headset H800:

By Firstpost.com
In terms of design, the Logitech H800 is a headset with basic looks- it’s got the usually adjustable headband, foam pads with no felt or cloth covers, a protruding microphone arm and it’s got controls on one side. In terms of build quality, it’s not too impressive. The headset is understandably designed to be light, but a sudden jolt or twist could break the headband easily. There’s a provision to fold the headphones, so it’s a little easy to carry around.

By Digit
At Rs. 6,595 the Logitech Wireless Headset H800 fell expensive. Their build quality is sub-par and the audio output is consistent. If wireless headphones are an absolute necessity, then you may want to consider these otherwise we suggest you pick up a nice pair of wired headphones, which will do more justice to your music needs.
