Introduction
Sennheiser GSP 370
This headset meets little bit expensive in other words it’s a premium product. But, for this price-point the Sennheiser claims that it has 100 hours battery life, noise cancelling microphone, and award winning audio.
Sennheiser GSP 670
This headset has almost all the qualities of the luxurious headset. This headphone has Bluetooth and dongle connectivity, great 7.1 surround sound, good microphone, very comfort and the build quality is also good.
Design & Features
Sennheiser GSP 370
The material of the headset is made of very durable plastic material that does not feel cheap, it feels really high-quality and it doesn’t feel like thin plastic. It feels like thicker, you can’t really bend it and nice quality level plastic. The headset is flexible and it’s gonna fit most head sizes. So, whether you have a larger head or slimmer head, it’s most likely gonna fit because the plastic is quite flexible.
You will get some accessories with the headphone are a USB dongle connector that allows you to connect this headset wirelessly to your computer. There is no Bluetooth options, you can only connect this headset using the USB dongle. So, make sure your device has a USB dongle before you purchase this headset, otherwise, it’s not gonna work. Thrn, a 6 foot cable that was included with the headset and you can charge the headset while using it
Sennheiser GSP 670
Inside the box, you’re just getting the dongle, the micro-USB cable for charging and the headset. It’s really sturdy, everything is very well built and I like the way the ear cups actually adjust, you can slide them up and down but also on top of the headband you have the ability to control the clamping force. Everybody’s head is different, so sometimes it can be a little too tight or can be a little loose and so the fact that they added that control on the top is a nice touch.
As far as on the headset itself you have a volume knob which is really massive and it has a very nice feel to it. This is also what turns it on you can kind of hear a slight little click but if you do not turn these off, there’s no music playing after a little while it will just shut itself off. Also underneath, there’s a programmable button that you actually have to use Sennheiser software, you downloaded on your PC and then you’re able to make it just switch from 7.1 surround sound or just staying in stereo or you can just program some of the EQ settings. You have your mic volume wheel and all of that’s on the right-hand side. On the left hand side, you do have your pairing button and then you have your micro USB input for charging.
As far as Bluetooth controls go you don’t have any other, I think it’s pretty much because they considered Bluetooth secondary or if you’re gaming on your mobile device you’re not gonna have to control skipping tracks or anything, you can control your volume but that’s with the same wheel anyway.
Sennheiser is gaming suite software that you download with your PC or your Mac, you definitely want to do, so that you can EQ these in a way that you want them to sound and they already have some pre-built ones. The software is also giving you controls over the mic as well, so you definitely want to do that but as far as using them like on the PlayStation, it really won’t matter about settings because in that you can only use stereo mode and that’s simply because the PlayStation doesn’t have the drivers to be able to let you customize it.
Comfort
Sennheiser GSP 370
On top of the headset is made of the fabric memory foam material, so I think that’s pretty nice. It feels nice and plush, so it’s gonna be comfortable on the top of your head. Wearing this headset for eight hours straight also, there will be no issues with the top the head. So, definitely a plus on the comfort with this headset.
The earmuffs is made of the black colored material. It feels like it’s leather / cloth mixed material and on the inside of it, there’s this memory foam that’s also like the top of the headband. It really just sinks into your ears and it’s really comfortable to wear. On the outside of the earmuffs, you have the regular leather material that also feels quite nice. You can wear these things for long periods of time and these things are really not gonna give you any head strain. So, if comfort is important to you then these headphones are definitely a solid option.
The side of the headset that ear buds are adjustable and you can hear that sound, it’s on a clicky system. So, this will definitely fit your head and you can really get the headset in a comfortable position. These things are also like tilt little access system, so it’s really gonna stick on the side of your head at any angle. So that’s obviously gonna add to the comfort levels.
Sennheiser GSP 670
These are very well built but it also comes at the expense of having a little weight on this headphone. So, when you wear them although they’re extremely comfortable, you do seem to feel weight in the center part of your head after a while.
The ear cups have a leather material around the ear cups but it’s actually a suede where it touches your head and that is keeping them from getting hot and it is really comfortable. Now, the ear cups are also extremely deep, so you’re not gonna have any issues with your ears touching inside of the ear cups. They’re really easy to adjust, they have like a two axis system on the side, so they form to your head really easily. If you’re moving around they kind of move with you, it is a very sleek headset.
Microphone Performance
Sennheiser GSP 370
The microphone makes this a gaming headset because it’s very important to communicate with your teammates. On the side, it does flex up and down and it also spins around. So, you can really get it as close to your mouth as you can and it’s gonna really bring out the audio and sound good overall. Basically, the closer the microphone is to your mouth the better it’s going to sound because it’s not capturing a lot of that external sound. So, make sure when you are using the headset put the headset as close as you can to your mouth but don’t put it to where you’re breathing.
Since this is a wireless headset, some of the controls are actually built onto the headset. The microphone is mutable by moving the microphone up and down and on the side you have a volume adjuster and this thing is an endless spinner so you can spin it as much times as you want to the left or right and you’re gonna adjust the audio levels in your headphones. So, if you need to crank the volume up you just spin it clockwise and if you need to turn the volume down you just spin a anti-clockwise. One thing I found a little bit uncomfortable with this is the spinner is kind of to the top of the headband and you can’t rotate completely around it because the headband covers the spinner but it’s not really a problem.
The sennheiser claims that it has noise cancelling microphone and it’s definitely do the work in a good way. The microphone sound just isolate the voice in a perfect way. Overall, it’s a good microphone for this price-point.
Sennheiser GSP 670
The microphone is actually close to being a broadcast quality microphone and it is noise canceling. So, it does do a good job of picking up your voice and blocking out a lot of the stuff going on around you. So, if you’re in a noisy environment or anything that’s just going on the people on the other side are just gonna hear your voice. They claim this to be broadcast quality. It is really impressive, really clear, picks up bass tones very well.
Another thing I do want to point out about the microphone. This is one thing that I wish they gave you the option is to remove it because with these having Bluetooth, this would have been very nice to use out and on the go but with this microphone it’s not something most people are gonna want to wear in public. I also think that the headset would need to be a little bit smaller because as it is a very big headset and not very appealing to wear out in public.
Sound Performance
Sennheiser GSP 370
Sennheiser are known for making a really high quality audio products and this headset is by no means a slacker. The Sennheiser claims that it has a award winner audio performance. The audio performance is just amazing that’s what makes this headset this much price. This has the solid bass performance.
The sound comes in a very clear way from the ear muffs. It’s just sounds amazing. The bass, mids and highs all of the performance were great. Overall, the audio coming through the ear muffs is just excellent.
Sennheiser GSP 670
In my opinion this is the best sounding wireless gaming headset I’ve ever heard. It’s not a huge surprise because it is Sennheiser, they did such an amazing job with this headphone. They’re not bass-heavy, they really do stick to giving you a pretty pure listening experience. So, you really are hearing things the way they’re intended to.
Again, You can bump up different things with the EQ but just leaving them like they are I found to be a really great option. I liked it in music mode, it has some pre-built EQs but the music mode gave it a little bit of a boost in bass and with gaming that just gives you impact on explosions and I don’t like when treble or mids are pushed away because at that time it sounds really tinny.
I prefer stereo use, I feel like 7.1 and pretty much every gaming headset as pretty gimmicky, it’s not doing that accurate job to me compared to just listening to these in stereo mode.
When it comes to the sound, there’s not like one thing I would change at all. Vocals come through extremely clear, the sound and the sound-stage that’s important with gaming. It just does something that a lot of gaming headsets usually fall short. You can really pinpoint where things are coming from like bullets whizzing. It just has the right amount of distance like it feels very natural, it’s not trying to do too much of the audio which sometimes can ruin the whole experience.
Battery
Sennheiser GSP 370
You have an on and off switch and if you switch it on, you will get little LED light that blinks, If it’s blinks in different colors that means it’s looking for something to connect. So, in order to connect it to a device, you’re gonna have to plug in the dongle and then it’s gonna connect to your computer and once it’s connected it’s gonna glow a few different colors or the light is gonna shine a specific color depending on the battery level. I do like Sennheiser’s battery indicator on the headset. So, you’re aware of your battery levels and you’re not going to run out while using them.
To charge this headset all you need to do is plug in the micro USB cable to the side and then you plug it into something with a USB port, so it’s gonna be micro USB to regular USB. Basically, once this thing’s fully charged, it’s gonna last for up to 100 hours. So, definitely a really good amounts of battery life and you don’t have to keep worrying about plugging this thing in every night.
Sennheiser GSP 670
Now the battery life on these is also dependent on which way you’re using them. If you’re using them via Bluetooth you’re gonna get about 20 hours but if you’re using them via the dongle you’re gonna get about 16.
It does have a feature to charge it for seven minutes that’s going to give you two hours of use. So, that’s a lease handy that you can get two hours out of a quick seven minute charge.
Conclusion
Sennheiser GSP 370
This headset meets pretty much all of the marks someone would expect from buying a premium product. It sounds amazing the build quality is fantastic and it’s really comfortable and with a premium product like this comes a premium price tag. This headset is costs 200 solid dollars, it’s pretty expensive but if you’re looking for the best headset consider this one.
Sennheiser GSP 670
So, overall this price is a lot of money for a gaming headset. I feel like if they would have made it where you can remove the microphone and have the ability to use these more in public, so that you can have a gaming headset at home but also a Bluetooth pair of headphones to use out and about in public, it can kind of be that one pair of headphones to do everything. It’s the best gaming headset, it’s just down to whether you’re willing to pay the price.
