INTRODUCTION:

Steelseries Siberia 200

This is like a basic headset with decent sound quality. This headset is one of the good headsets on Steelseries. The design and comfort are also nice and it’s very lightweight. Overall it’s a good headset.

Steelseries Siberia V2

This headset has a good design and nice comfort level and decent sound quality but they have to work on the mic quality. Overall, it’s a nice package to buy.

DESIGN:

Steelseries Siberia 200

The Siberia 200 takes over from the Siberia V2. When you take a closer look, you will see that there are many similarities but Steelseries do see that they have refined the design and made things a little bit better. They do arrive with seven different color options.

As I mentioned earlier that the design is super familiar to that of version 2. We have a super lightweight plastic build that feels solid enough in the hand but I would take extra care and definitely not throw them around.

The headband itself has that familiar suspension moment that I really like and above that, we have the profile tubes that carry the cables from one side to the other.

Steelseries Siberia V2

This headset has a very different design and looks good. This headset comes in different colors, so you can have lots of options and can be picked up as per your choice. The materials they used are also good for the price. There are no adjustments to fit different sizes of headsets and the durability is a little bit doubtful.

COMFORT:

Steelseries Siberia 200

The ear cups have a better swivel to them but the fact that the headset is so flexible, it shouldn’t be an issue unless you have a real weight head where you may find that the add a little tight. The ear cushions are covered in full leather and they don’t look particularly fake.

If you’re not though as they are very comfortable and I faced no severe issues. I will say though that after a few hours my ears dead tend to get a little bit hot, obviously, after a few hours, you should be taking breaks anyway.

It is closed. So, these really are not breathable. They’re like leather ear cups. So, it does close off your ears and drowns out a lot of the outside noise.

At the top, we’ve got the headset band which also has the name SteelSeries. There was a bunch of different colors that they have on their website. First thing I noticed this has a super light. So, one of the lighter headsets that I’ve actually picked up and used. When you wear them, they feel light and you never know it’s on there.

The one thing though that does kind of bother me about some of the headsets to have these leather ear cups is that your ears get hot. There’s no way around it, so once in a while, I noticed after a couple of hours gaming. But, it does drown out more sound. So, if you have something that has breathable ear cups doesn’t drown that as much sound in the background, maybe that’s a positive thing.

FEATURES:

At the left ear cup, you will find an awesome extendable mic that you can bend and twist into your preferred position. Mic itself is always on but you can mute it using a controller. There’s also used for the headset volume control and possession is perfect for quite mutes.

The cable itself is not braided and terminates and to separate mic and headphone jacks but Steelseries have included a splitter for those of you on mobile or console.

Steelseries Siberia V2

They call this one of their pro gaming headsets. It has a lot of nice features. It is not a surround sound headset so keep that in mind. It’s pretty easy, it’s pretty much just plug into your audio jacks. So, there’s no USB, no software, nothing like that.

It has a control on the cord. It has a volume rocker for volume up volume down, also has a little mute switch. So, you can turn your mic on and off. I really like when headsets have this just because if you got take a phone call or something, you can just use a quick mute and you don’t have to worry about going into your Skype or any app. At the end of the cable has your normal 3.5-millimeter jacks for your speaker and your microphone.

The cool thing is it also comes with another cable that gives you another couple feet. So, it’s an extension, so if you sit really close to your laptop you’re good just using the standard or if you sit further away, they give you options, I thought that was really neat. There are different versions, they do have a surround sound version and USB as well. As around $80 itself been a pretty good headset.

MICROPHONE:

In this headset, you get a retractable mic. So, whenever you don’t want to use the mic you can hide it in by just push it in. As you can tell, this is probably not the best mic that you have heard and this is definitely an area in which Steelseries should improve.

Steelseries Siberia V2

The cool thing on the left ear cup, it has a pull out microphone. So, you can slide the microphone out which is really flexible and easy to use. The sound quality’s decent. In this mic, you can hear the pop sounds a little bit if you say any words that start with P, you’ll hear like the air. I haven’t had a problem with the mic, for a gaming headset mic in this price range, I think this is good.

SOUND:

Steelseries Siberia 200

The bass is also at a decent level, although sometimes that as the old-time weather is slightly overpowering but it’s not enough to complain. Overall the audio quality is super impressive at this price point and it is even better than some more expensive headsets out there on the market.

Steelseries Siberia V2

Some of the features with the headset is that it has 50-millimeter drivers in the ear cups. So, you do get a really nice rich sound out of it, you do get a nice bass. Some people may complain about that but I haven’t had any issues it sounds perfect.

The detail level of sound is impressive and all type of sounds like high-end and also low-end frequency sounds good and clear. For gaming, it will work well. 

WHICH TO BUY?

The Siberia 200 and the Siberia Version 2 are almost the same but there are little bit changes. The price of these headsets is also a little bit different. So, I think Siberia 200 will be good to buy because it’s also the advanced version of Siberia V2 and also the price is less compared to the Siberia V2.
