Detail Review:

INTRODUCTION:

Jaybird Tarah

After releasing the X4 earphones the Jaybird has a new more budget-friendly pair of wireless earphones and that’s the Tarah. These earphones are currently retailing for around fifty dollars.

Jaybird Vista

The Jaybird Vista is a truly wireless earphone that is designed for sports activity. All those negative things that the Run XT have actually has fixed them up with the new Jaybird Vista. These earphones are currently retailing for around a hundred and fifty dollars.

Jaybird Vista

DESIGN:

Jaybird Tarah

I like the design, they look really good similar wire to the X4, it’s gonna have a similar cable management system. Then with the inline remote, you’re gonna get the volume up, volume down, and a microphone like the same setup as the X4. They look really nice for 99 dollars with the quality. They are the ipx7 rating and make these more waterproof and sweatproof. But you got to carry the proprietary cable around with you.

Jaybird Vista

Some things that I really do like about this design definitely has to be the colorway. I really do appreciate this nice matte finish, it’s super clean and minimal. Even the charging case is rocking that same matte black finish, it does attract a few scuffs here and there so you could see finger smudges but besides that, it looks really nice and clean.

Something that was really annoying with the Jaybird Run XT model was the fact that that carrying case would accidentally open up if it was in your pocket or your bag and it could automatically connect your phone. They fixed that with the new charging case.

COMFORT:

Jaybird Tarah

You’re going to get the ear tips with the ear wings and the reason why these are different is that they are actually attached this time. So you need to put the whole unit on there together and it swaps out not only the ear tips but also the wings at the same time. So that’s a little bit different we’ve never seen that with any of the other Jaybird earphones, most of them obviously have a separate pair of wings and then a separate pair of ear tips. The one downside of these so far that I don’t like is there are no foam inserts I really love the foam ear tips. Obviously, they only have the rubberized ones this time. But the earphones themselves very lightweight and comfortable too.

Jaybird Vista

After using this for the past couple of months I do appreciate how light they are, so they do feel very comfortable in the ears. Even Jaybird claims that these are supposed to be light and these are definitely one of the lightest pairs of truly wireless earphones I’ve ever used. I’ve used them in the gym a couple of times and it’s been super comfortable and they haven’t fallen out in any way. Even I did fall out of the test and they are not coming out. They really do stay in your ears just like the Jaybird Runs or some of the other Jaybird earphones.

Jaybird Tarah

FEATURES:

Jaybird Tarah

These have typical Jaybird packaging it literally looks exactly the same as the X4 packaging. On the front, you’re gonna get Tarah right there, you’re gonna get a little bit of information about the headphones you have a six-hour battery life with these. These are also waterproof and sweatproof ipx7 rated meaning that you know you can have these submerged for about thirty minutes and they’ll be completely fine.

They come in the sport fit which is a little bit different than any of the other Jaybird earphones we’ve seen in the past. At the back, it’s just got a little bit more information some information on the side about the app, and other than that there’s really nothing on the box.

When you open up the box, it looks exactly the same as the X4 laid out exactly the same. Inside you’re gonna get a couple of different accessories number one is gonna be the ear tips and an ear clip right there. Then you’re going to get the charging cable which you need to charge these earphones, so they’re gonna do it the same way as they’ve done the X3 and the X4. You’re gonna have to have this proprietary charging cable with you to be able to charge these. Then you’re going to get the actual earphones themselves and you get a QuickStart guide and some more information just about how to set these earphones up.

Jaybird Vista

Coming from the Jaybird Run XT, these even have a smaller profile than you did get previously. These are not necessarily the successor to the Jaybird Run XT, I think these are actually a new version of true wireless earphones that Jaybird makes outside of the Run series. As far as build quality goes with these earphones obviously, if you drop these little small things are not gonna break. These are meant for sporty or more active users. This does have ipx7 rated so it is sweat, water-resistant you can drop these underwater for 30 minutes, you can sweat all over them, and they work perfectly well.

I did find something a little bit odd with these earphones or unique I don’t know what you want to call it but it’s the fact that the ear tips and the ear wings are actually one. So you can just take off at your tip and put on a new one you actually have to change the whole thing out, it’s really weird and different. I’m not sure if I’m a big fan of this because if you do want to just change the ear tips you can’t do that, you have to actually move the whole entire thing which is already kind of aggravating to remove.

This also uses those physical control buttons. I’m not a huge fan of that because when you have them inside your ear and you’re trying to play and pause it’s kind of like you’re almost like stabbing your ear canal. What’s really cool with these physical buttons is the fact that they are customizable. The only downside is you could only customize both at once, you can’t customize every single earphone to do two different things. For example, if I wanted to activate the Google Assistant with a single press of a button, it’s gonna do the same thing for the other earphone rather than doing it just for this side. It would have been great being able to customize every single earphone, that way if I did want to activate the google assistant with one single press I could do that but at the same time if I wanted to play and pause with one single press I could do that on the other side.

Connectivity with these earphones it’s wonderful, better than other true wireless earphones that I’ve tested. Something that I typically do is I walk to the other end of my house to see how well these earphones work in terms of connectivity. With the Vistas, the connectivity was wonderful, I didn’t have any issue like any playback issues like all the function buttons worked perfectly.

Besides being able to switch your sound signature on here you can do a lot more. At the very first, we have preset and you can switch between a bunch of different presets. You even have preset from athletes so you can scroll through different athletes who used bright accessories. If you find your favorite one there, you can click on it, you can see how they like their sound signature. Onto the next type is music, here you are able to switch between different songs and it actually connects to Spotify which is really dope. So if you just want to simply use a Jaybird application in order to tune your music in your earphones, you can do that as well.

On the profile tab, you can see your different presets here, and on top of that, you can see some of the different playlists you have if you are connected to your Spotify account. On the last type, you do have to find my buds so if you did lose any of these earphones, you can just get on the application and you can find them right on here. Then you have voice prompts you can switch between different voice prompts, you have button controls you can customize the different controls, you got auto on and off which is a really nice feature so you can have these earphones turn off at a certain time if you’re not using them and if you do own any other Jaybird earphones you can pair them directly through this application.

Jaybird Vista

BATTERY AND ITS LIFE:

Jaybird Tarah

The proprietary charging cable made it even different than the X4. So it’s a little bit frustrating to me because then I can’t even use the X4 charging cable to charge these and I have to have a whole nother one. You’re gonna end up plugging the proprietory charging cable into the control panel on the Tarah and charging them that way and then plugging this is obviously through USB. The battery life on this is 6 hours which is pretty good for the price.

Jaybird Vista

The battery life Jaybird claiming is about six hours of usage and you get an additional ten hours of usage with the charging case. So that’s a total of about sixteen hours of usage with these earphones. That’s pretty impressive that’s definitely on the high end of earphones. When I used these for about an hour each day it lasted to me about three days so I would say that six hours is pretty accurate.

SOUND:

Jaybird Tarah

I really feel like this is just super spacious and the soundstage is great, you can hear it layered like a cake. You can have your mids, your vocals, and your bass doesn’t over cover the troubles just roll off nice and tidy at the top. It’s just an amazing experience from top to bottom I love these and I think these are actually the same drivers I was looking at the specs as the Jaybird X4.

Jaybird Vista

What’s really great with the Jaybird Vistas or a lot of the other Jaybird earphones is the fact that you can customize its sound quality or the sound signature through the Jaybird application. On the application, you can choose how the high, mid, and low range sound. This is really great to do because if you’re somebody who is very picky when it comes to sound quality you’re able to tune these earphones to your liking.

Jaybird Tarah

WHICH TO BUY?

In my opinion, you can buy the Jaybird Tarah if you want good earphones at a lower budget because these are good for their price range. As well as if you can afford more price then you can buy the Jaybird Vista because it sounds great, has a good comfort level, and better battery life too.
