Detail Review

INTRODUCTION:

Logitech G305 Lightspeed

The price of Logitech G305 is around $50, which does come in at 97 grams with the default AA battery and basically brings the weight down to match the G Pro Wireless. If you’re looking for a small wireless gaming mouse without spending a ton of money the G305 is a very solid choice.

Logitech G603 Lightspeed

The Logitech G603 worth $70 looks simple and has a comfortable design, long battery life, and is a wireless mouse, it doesn’t have RGB lighting. It’s worth every penny, the Logitech G603 won’t disappoint you.

G305.

DESIGN & COMFORT:

Logitech G305 Lightspeed

It is quite small, it retains the classic shape of the wider G102, G203, and G Pro, so it is pretty clear that it has a popular shape. Many have described this shape as perfect for claw grip, and since it is a shorter Mouse and despite having hands on the larger end, this is my preferred Mouse for competitive shooters. Some have complained about the grip on the G305 saying it’s a little on the slippery end if your palms tend to sweat in-game and I would have to agree. I do prefer the softer matte texture on the G Pro Wireless or even better the rubberized texture on the side grips for the G703.

This mouse is not lightweight, it comes around 97 grams. Plenty of CS: GO players use mice around this way, so this is absolutely fine for competitive gaming, some would say for even at the highest level. If you do prefer lighter though, a quick way to bring that down to 84 grams is by using a AAA lithium battery and a plastic adapter sleeve that you can get from Amazon and if you can’t be bothered with the adapter sleeve, you can also use aluminum or tin foil to close the connection.

Compared to the G Pro Wireless, there are still some differences with the main one being the shape but also the texture which is a bit harder on the G305, and the switches being harder too. You also need to factor in the cost of the batteries over time but seeing as a single AAA lithium battery will likely give you over a month or two of heavy use the additional cost isn’t that significant.

Logitech G603 Lightspeed

The Logitech’s G603 Lightspeed top shell is held together by magnets. Inside, you’re going to have to find additional space for the batteries. Both sides of the mouse have a black finish and two programmable buttons placed on the left side.

The sides and the top part of the mouse have a soft paint style appearance. The sides and the top part are a bit slippery but it isn’t slippery enough to be a major concern. You can remove the top plate by lifting the front edge of the buttons. Once the button pops off, you can see the dual AA battery components and a place to store your USB receiver when transporting the mouse.

FEATURES & PERFORMANCE:

Logitech G305 Lightspeed

The left and right mouse clicks are a bit heavier though for my liking and I do wish they were light and quiet like the G Pro wireless. The scroll wheel feels nice though, not too stiff, and not too much horizontal play either. You do also have two side buttons on the left of the mouse, overall these feel okay too but I do prefer the easier clicks on the G Pro Wireless. DPI shift button is also right behind the scroll wheel, there’s a small LED indicator to indicate which level is active.  The G305 features the next-gen Logitech HERO optical sensor with 200 to 12,000 DPI sensitivity for competition-level accuracy.

Logitech has really done some magic here with the Hero sensor in terms of power efficiency. As a comparison, the G703 uses the 3366 sensors and it barely lasts four days with continuous use. Now, when this sensor is so good at conserving power, you’d have to expect that this is Logitech’s game plan for the next year or two. I personally would have no issue, if Logitech just took every single shaped Mouse out there that they had and just incorporated the Hero sensor and then a slot for a AA or AAA battery, so that it could be powered wirelessly. Having a wireless Hero G303 or G903, I think would be personally pretty awesome.

Logitech G603 Lightspeed

The G603 consists of six programmable buttons: a right button, a left button, a DPI sensitivity adjuster, and under that two buttons. Everything is placed where it’s supposed to be and there are two buttons placed below the mouse.

When in use, the mouse experienced no form of lag at 10 feet away. At its maximum setting, it can stay connected even 50 feet away. Hero sensor is known as Logitech’s revolutionary sensor that delivers 10 times the efficiency of the competition and world-class performance. With the sensor, the G603 Lightspeed still delivers an accurate response to your clicks and actions.

It functions well with Bluetooth, and it will still give you top-notch performance. This gaming mouse can be controlled to meet the user’s preferences. There’s an on the fly DPI, which allows users to shift from five different levels of sensitivity in its settings. With the LGS, a series of clicks and keystrokes are needed to simplify in-game options and the execution of multiple tasks. The DPI settings can range from 200 – 12,000 DPI, giving you enough sensitivity for any gaming situation.

Installing the G603 is as easy as plugging in the USB receiver. Pairing it on Bluetooth is simple, especially if you paired a device via Bluetooth before. To get the most out of the mouse, make sure you install the Logitech G603 Software. The sensor can track up to 400 inches a second and applies no filtering or smoothing. Because of its low latency and its 1ms response rate, you have direct control over the mouse without losing track, wobbling, or swimming. Also, G603 has Bluetooth and Lightspeed which makes it easier for you to control and link multiple devices. You can quickly toggle through two linked devices with only one button. With its onboard memory feature, you can take your settings with you. Using its LGS feature, you can record and save the G603 settings. This allows you to store the setting and play it on other computers without needing to use extra software for it to work.

Consumers praised the Logitech G603 Gaming Mouse’s software interface. On the main page, it shows the battery life and the current mode (Endurance or Performance). You can look at your mouse’s onboard storage for one set of button assignments and DPI systems. Alternatively, you can have a profile system that automatically loads up the button setting and DPI depending on what game is launched.

BATTERY:

Logitech G305 Lightspeed

One reason the G305 is so affordable though is that Logitech didn’t need to integrate a charging circuit or lithium battery built-in as they did with the G Pro Wireless, as the G305 is powered by a single replaceable AA battery. The battery that comes in the box is a AA cell that weighs 23 grams alone and when installed into the G305 this brings the total weight to 97 grams.

Logitech G603 Lightspeed

Logitech states that this mouse has a battery power of over 500 hours. That’s about two months if you’re using it for 8 hours a day. While the mouse can’t be recharged, it has enough time to be used for mid-term gaming. For battery efficiency, the G603 lets users switch from a high and low mode with the press of a button. When on high mode, the mouse uses its Lightspeed 1ms reporting and works in its full performance. On the low-mode, it has a speed rating of 8ms. This gives the mouse battery a lifespan of 18 months.

WHICH TO BUY?

Both the mice have a reasonable price and work great as per the price. Logitech G603 has more features than Logitech G305 if your budget is $70 then you should definitely go for G603 but if you have a lower budget then go for G305 which is worth of $50, but in my opinion, G603 is better-built than G305.
