Logitech’s G533 doesn’t have quite the same breadth of options as the G933, but a more restrained design and a bargain price make this a strong contender for best wireless headset.

There’s not much to complain about with the G533, as they are exceptional by practically every measure. They are comfy, offer superb audio for games and music, and the retractable microphone is simply brilliant. I just wish I could use them with my phone and my console like the Arctis 7 or Revolver S, then they’d be perfect.

Detail Review:

INTRODUCTION:

Logitech G533

The design is simple and stylish. The comfort is also good and the padding the ear pad material is also comfortable. The sound of the headset and the mic is also pretty good for the price range.

Corsair Void Pro RGB Wireless

This void pro headset comes a year after their last release with the regular corsair void and they’ve made some changes this time around. The comfort and the surround sound, both are good in this headset which considers the main thing for the gaming headset.

DESIGN:

Logitech G533

I do like to look at this although it’s very boxy look, it’s still really comfortable and nice gaming headset. This headset has the matte black look except the area of the back of the ear cups. The area which is back of the ear cups is full of glossy plastic. This glossy area will get lots of finger prints and easily get dirty. Otherwise, the headset looks and feels good.

Corsair Void Pro RGB Wireless

Out of the box, it really doesn’t look too different from the last release, that’s kind of a good thing. It does have a very unique looking style to it. I think it looks pretty simple, definitely has this angular look to it fitting in with the Corsair branding, nothing really to complain about here.

COMFORT:

Logitech G533

The ear cups are really comfortable. They are very large ear cups, they’ve got almost a rectangular and fit to them. They’re fabric but they breathe very well. So, you can wear them for hours. Now, if I mentioned hours, you’re wondering this is a wireless gaming headset so what’s the battery life? It’s about 15 hours and I mean actually 15 hours to the dawn, it actually goes all the way to 15 and because of that you’ve got some really nice comfort built into it, top headbands and things like that.

Corsair Void Pro RGB Wireless

You will have these nice mesh ear cups and sort of this rhombus shape. It took some time for me to get used to that feeling on my ear but overall since the headset itself is really lightweight, there wasn’t much of a problem. We also have that same soft mesh texture on the top of the headband. So, it’s not gonna be having any pressure points on the top of your head.

One thing I don’t like is when the ear cups rotate around 90 degrees. So, you can have it laying flat on your neck. Then, the terms of adjustment you definitely have some flexibility here if you have a larger head. I found that with no adjustment at all, it would still kind of big for me. So, if you have a huge head, this you’ll definitely fit.

FEATURES:

Logitech G533

This is in the line right outside below the G933 but this is a really comfortable headset. Now, you do have right off the ear cup is a drop down microphone and this also is an extendable boom mic. It’s got its own really special unique pop filter that gives you a control Logitech some really clean audio. You can snap it back and then pull it back up and when you pull it up it basically mutes the mic and you have that red light right there.

Now in terms of controls, they’re all on the left ear cup. You’ve got your volume, power on switch, you also go to G key. So, all those functionalities are on the left ear cup for you to access while gaming. You also have the G sync button as well as the volume rocker which gives you audio cues, beeping when it goes up and beeping when it goes down. So, you know when you’ve maxed out volume or not. Logitech probably has 15 hours of battery life. There’s also a micro USB port to charge this.

Corsair Void Pro RGB Wireless

Now in terms of buttons, everything you’re gonna need to use the headset comes on the left ear cup. On the top backside, you have the power button, a mic mute button, then on the bottom it’s kind of your volume rocker plus a micro-USB port for charging. You can adjust that volume rocker if you press it in for a few seconds that will enable the Dolby surround sound and if you just quickly press it in, it’ll go through some of the EQ presets. Also, the left ear cup has the microphone here that actually made some upgrades.

Honestly, RGB lighting on a headset is not important at all. I understand, it’s a big craze. Inside the software, you can go in and change some of the lighting effects around, things like picking one static color for it to be means you really only have the corsair sales logo on each side of the ear-cup. So, there’s also things like a blinking effect, a breathing effect, and a beat effect plus a pulse effect. RGB lighting is going to significantly affect your battery life in the end for your wireless headset.

They do write this will have at around 16 hours and I usually had that turned off the RGB. When I’m using it and I found I think that average 14 hours there with no RGB lighting and I assume if you have RGB on, you get significantly less, probably closer to six or eight hours. If you want my opinion, don’t use RGB lighting and save your battery for the gaming session of more than 10 to 12 hours.

Corsair has integrated the Dolby 7.1 surround sound on the void Pro RGB headset and that all comes to life when you plug in their Corsair wireless dongle. This is pretty much just a wireless receiver that plugs into any USB port on your PC. Once I download the drivers it was just connected, there’s no pairing to be done which is easy enough.

Now, one thing I found strange from the last void headset and it didn’t make any improvements on was you not use the void Pro wide at all. So, if the battery dies, you can’t use this because a lot of these times when companies have a wireless receiving dongle, there will be a port to at least connected to micro-USB. You have some sort of battery life while it’s charging or there’s no 3.5 millimeter headphone jack on this or on the headset. So, the fact you can’t use this if it is dead.

MICROPHONE:

Logitech G533

There’s a detachable mic coming with this headset. The material of the mic is like rubber material and it’s bendable, you can easily place the mic wherever you want to in front of your mouth.

The new pop filter gives it a very different feel and sound to it. The mic is really good. I do like the microphone, I think it’s actually better than G933. I think they’ve improved the mic. The person who hear the mic sound, they absolutely love the audio from the mic and told me, it’s clear, robust.

Corsair Void Pro RGB Wireless

The first thing that the microphone itself is rubber and it actually bends where you wanted to be which is a nice upgrade over the regular Corsair void which was very stiff and when I would want to move it, it would just hit my lips a few times. Also, in front your mouth is the little LED light strip for notifying you when it is muted or not and to mute the microphone, you either have that button which mutes the mic or you can just simply fold it upward it’ll deactivate and then be muted.

The sound is kind of very tinny and just faraway. I don’t like the sound of the mic. I kind of disappointed in the end but I mean there’s not a lot of wireless gaming headsets at this price range that sound good or a decent. The mic quality, I think is gonna be okay if you’re just online, talking your friends in gaming. I definitely wouldn’t recommend doing any voice-overs because the mic quality isn’t up to par where I want to be. I just wish it sounded a little bit better given the iteration of this headset.

SOUND:

Logitech G533

This is absolutely amazing, DTS headphone X powered, so of course you carry that tradition from the G933 over. It is great for gaming, it’s also really good for watching movies and other kind of content. So, you’re getting some really robust audio from there. Now, this headset is strictly wireless meaning that cable is only for charging, so you can recharge the headset. You have a USB dongle which gives you connectivity for about thirty feet.

Corsair Void Pro RGB Wireless

With a lot of emulated 7.1 surround sound headset, the sound quality I always felt is severely lacking that’s because it is always emulated unless there are actually seven individual drivers inside each ear cup. So, almost you are getting emulated surround sound but even with their last headset that the emulated Dolby surround sound is very good.

In one way, I first noticed it when I was listening to a podcast, I had it emulated. I heard much more of a wide space and a lot more echo because I was there filming a podcast, there wasn’t a lot of foam or anything like that. So, I heard a more natural sound. When I started playing some PUBG as I was rather impressed because I did get a much more wide-open sound-stage and it really immersed me even more. For instance, I heard footprints, so I quickly turned on the Dolby surround sound, I was able to pinpoint whether he was on top of the little balcony coming around the back side, the front side or if he was still in the room which was really cool. Once I heard that I was able to pinpoint him where he was . I was just very impressed with the Dolby surround sound.

However, since in the software you can have other EQ turned on or off, just to have that you best emulated surround sound and don’t have any other EQ on, leave it plain. If you don’t choose surround sound, there are other EQ so you can either make or pick from things like forward enhancing vocals. If you’re watching a movie, there’s a movie preset, an FPS preset where you can go in and make your own. Overall sound pretty good, not usually like any Presets.

CONCLUSION:

Logitech G533

I really do like what they’ve done with the G533. I like its pricing. I think the mic needs some more improvements but if they can balance that out with software updates, I sure this will be a solid headset to pick up.

Corsair Void Pro RGB Wireless

For this price point, I think is very friendly considering you’re getting a 7.1 surround sound wireless headset like this. Usually they start to average around 150 and up typically especially with RGB lighting in them. The price overall is still very friendly, it is lightweight but I still wish we could use this wired if the battery dies, I don’t understand why that’s not integrated onto this USB hubs. Overall, I think it sounds fantastic just a little cons along the way but overall it is a good headset for a good price.
