Detail Review

INTRODUCTION:

Logitech M705 Marathon

This mouse costs about 45 dollars and it may be a little costly but it has that many features and functions also. The design is also good which is neither too large nor too small, perfect for any type of grips and hands.

Logitech M330 Silent Plus

Logitech has always been that preferable brand when it comes to purchasing mouse either if it’s wired or wireless. It has always given that sense of quality and durability.

DESIGN & COMFORT:

Logitech M705 Marathon

They are calling this Mouse the marathon Mouse because this Mouse can last for three years of continuous use on the same two AA batteries. I like the design and the right-hand shape of this Mouse and I’m having a smooth experience while using this mouse. The mouse weight is just 135 grams.

This is a wireless mouse. It’s a fairly small size but it fits the hand really quite nicest if you’re right-handed, this is not an ambidextrous Mouse. It looks quite good as well, I mean it’s a mouse so doesn’t have to look great, it looks very professional.

You’ve got the scroll wheel which has actually real metal and it’s designed well is fairly sturdy. Obviously, if you’re gonna go throwing around is not gonna break, it is sturdy and when you shake it around you will hear the scroll moving because it can go left and right as well.

Logitech M330 Silent Plus

In terms of price, this only cost about 15 dollars. For a wireless mouse that only costs 15 dollars, this is packing a punch. Overall, it’s built pretty well. It has a pretty good weight to it but overall it has the polish plastic kind of look. The rubber grips on the side may be useful for grip for some months but after that, it kind of gets sticky. It doesn’t feel as great to use anymore as every time you touch the mouse, it just gives you that sticky feeling. So, even though having a rubber grip, it may be good for the first couple of months or even years but it doesn’t really maintain that well throughout. I actually think that in terms of build quality, if you want something that can maintain for a longer-term, I would prefer going with something like this.

You may also be wondering about the ergonomics and size of the mouse. If there is one complaint that I really have to nitpick or pick out on that would have to be the size. I really hope that it could be slightly bigger but in this case, you can actually choose some of the other models that Logitech does provide as well. In terms of ergonomics and comfortability, I think it’s quite okay.

SPECIFICATIONS:

Logitech M705 Marathon

The Logitech Marathon mouse comes with a nice package the package contains the Logitech Marathon Mouse M705, the Logitech unifying receiver, the Logitech mouse, and keyboard personalized software CD, Quick Start Guide, and two AA batteries.

Once you open the battery compartment, you will find a place for the Logitech unifying receiver. You need this receiver to be able to use the mouse with your computer. The mouse and the receiver communicating using advanced 2.4 gigahertz wireless technology. This tiny wireless receiver stays in your notebook, so there is no need to unplug it when you move around, plus you can easily add a compatible keyboard or another Mouse.

With the scroll wheel, you will fly through documents and web pages with a single spin, and click to click scrolling gives you the precision you need when navigating lists, slides, and images. With the laser tracking, you will enjoy smoother tracking on just any surface.

The buttons feel very tactile, it’s not mushy. I mean the side buttons, they were a bit trickier because they do feel a bit mushy. You’ve got three of them, so the back and forward one and then you’ve got this one that clicks kind of just the bottom portion of the thumb rest and you can program it to the different things through the software that it comes with. It’s fairly easy to use, this not terrible software.

The mouse itself has a mechanical switch to allow you to change the scrolling setting, so you can scroll freely but if you push down this button and so when you scroll, you have that more traditional clicky scroll. There is no software doing things, it’s a mechanical switch and I really like the switch is really well designed.

Logitech M330 Silent Plus

This is the Silent Plus edition of the M330. The M330 series is more of the smaller version in terms of the Logitech wireless mouse. When I first saw this product, the silent feature really intrigued me because when I think about it in daily life and when it comes to the environment that is more closed off or quieter such as the library, there’s always some sort of clicking noises that comes along with someone using their laptop. So, it doesn’t really matter the sound can be coming from a conventional mouse or even from the trackpad from scrolling through pages and whatsoever. Now, with this feature, you can pretty much browse through the internet in the library or anywhere else in peace, so there’s literally not much audible compared to a conventional wireless mouse.

This is advertised as 90 of noise reduction, it has the same clicking feel but without the clicking noise. You may prefer or you like that tactile kind of feeling from the conventional mouse but even though this is silent, in terms of like tactile functions, I still think that it remains that clickiness there. For the most part, you don’t really require a lot of force when it comes to clicking. It doesn’t really require much of an input, so pretty much as soon as you tap it lightly that will work instantly.

In terms of the range, Logitech claims that it can go up to 10 meters but I think, for the most part, you would also be using it close to the transmitter. but if you’re not or if you need to be slightly away from the transmitter that works as well. So, you can go up to 10 meters.

If you’re a gamer and if you’re wondering if this is any good for gaming. In my experience, I think it’s fine. I didn’t really notice any sort of latency drops or any kind of input lag, it works well overall but sometimes it doesn’t work as well maybe it could be a battery issue.

BATTERY:

Logitech M705 Marathon

With two AA batteries, this mouse can last for three years. It’s good to mention that this mouse still can work with only one AA battery. There is an indicator light to let you know when the battery’s low. It’s a purely wireless mouse and the batteries are two AA batteries The battery life on this mouse is amazing, it’s fantastic, it lasts ages and you never really need to turn it off.

Logitech M330 Silent Plus

It comes with a standard AA battery. It has an auto on-off, so it would detect means if you’re not using the mouse, it will automatically switch on but as soon as you touch it, it would become active. So, therefore, this has actually a battery life of 24 months. This one battery can last you for two years which I think it’s amazing.

WHICH TO BUY?

The M705 Marathon mouse isn’t really for someone that’s looking into dpi numbers. This is an everyday Mouse and so for everyday use or for even video editing and things like that, it will work fine. Also, the Logitech M330 Mouse is silent and half the price of the M705 Mouse, but the only problem is it’s little bit small and if it’s okay for you then, M330 is a very simple wireless mouse to buy at a very cheap price.
