INTRODUCTION:

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 retails for $300. The differences between the originals and the new ones are you’re getting Bluetooth 5.1, IPX4 sweating water resistance, almost double the battery life, and active noise cancellation. These are the major upgrades.

Apple Airpods Pro

Airpods Pro is the updated version of the Apple Airpods. They added more bass with the originals, they only go down to 65 Hertz before these go down to 20 Hertz, so they’re guaranteed to sound better, and they shortened up the stems so they guaranteed to look a little bit better. They retail for $250.

DESIGN:

Inside the box, you are getting your USB type-c charging cable, some different sized ear tips, some manual books, your charging case no wireless charge on the charging case, and your earbuds.

Sennheiser claims these are a little bit smaller but I don’t think so. They look about the same size but they got more mics. There’s a difference between the charging cases. Both the original and the new ones have the same cloth fabric style charging cases but this one is a little bit darker. I’m glad they went with the darker version because a lot of people were complaining that the original one was getting dirty. On the back of the case, there’s a multi-functional button, there’s the LED light that’s gonna indicate charging, and the USB type-c charging slot.

Apple Airpods Pro

The box comes in classic nice Apple presentation, clean white box. Inside the box, there are the usual books you get your USB type-c the lightning adaptor, and three different sized silicone ear tips small, medium, and large. The charging case is a little bit shorter but a little bit more narrow, definitely the same width as compared to the original.

The case here is entirely made of hard plastic. They have a matte finish. The case contains a magnet to get it closed properly and there is also another magnet to hold the earbuds at their place properly which would not let them fall out of the case. Your AirPods Pro has a shortened stem than the originals. I think they look a little bit better. On the sides, you got your vents, silicone ear tips, and your different mics for your active noise cancellation.

This is only available in one color white, you got the h1 chipset so guaranteed to pair up nice and fast and smooth there Bluetooth 5.0, the IPX4 sweating water-resistant. These also feature active noise cancellation, transparency mode, and adaptive EQ, you’ve got to touch controls, wireless charging, and access to Siri. 

COMFORT:

I tested out the fitness of the buds in the ears by shaking my head to the maximum level, but no movement at all. So, this would be perfect to wear to the gym, perfect for your bike riding, a perfect walking around, they’re not gonna fall out.

Inside the case, there is a magnet to hold the earbuds in their place properly without letting them fall out from the case. I tested out how strong the magnets are thereby shaking the case with my full energy. But they stayed in there, that’s pretty good, the magnets on these are strong. These are not falling down I’m really impressed with these.

Apple Airpods Pro

They have silicone ear tips so they’re guaranteed to fit better than the Airpods. The fit on these is a hundred times better than the original Airpods. I put them in, it was nice and comfortable. I tested out the fitness of these by shaking my head with these to the maximum level, these didn’t move at all. I saw this be perfect for the gym. They gonna look better when you wearing them with the shorter stem than the original. Personally, I think they look way better.

The box claims that you get smart pause that is when you listening to music, if you take out the earbuds it’ll pause the song once you put them back in, your musical resume. You can customize all your touch controls. You got access to all your voice assistance, active noise cancellation. You got an app that’s available for Android and iOS. These are IPX4 sweating water-resistant. You got Bluetooth 5.1 that’s the latest and the greatest. You got an AC and Qualcomm aptX.

The first thing you need to do is pair up your earbuds once you take them out of the case, put them in your ears, press and hold each earbud at the same time for about five seconds and that’ll put them in pairing mode then go to your phone’s Bluetooth menu and select the Momentum tools. The next thing you need to do is download the Sennheiser app.

Once you open this app and connect to your earbud,s this will give you access to all of the features. If you take it over to settings you got your devices like different earbuds or different headphones, you have app settings that’s your language, your app version, and you can also reset, you’ve got to help and your feedback.

If you click the settings, you will get smart pause you could on and off, you get active noise cancellation order except phone calls you got sidetone, this way you can hear your voice when you’re on the phone call, and you got your earbuds customization. You can also turn your prompts on and off for your voice version and model name and again you can reset.

If you tap on the picture of the earbuds that is gonna be all your touch controls. A single tap on the left earbud play-pause, single tap on the right earbud voice assistant you can customize these if you want, double-tap on the left earbud that’ll take you to your next track, double tap on the right earbud that’ll turn on your transparent hearing also known as ambient sound mode, if you triple-tap on the left earbud that’ll take to the previous track. If I triple tap on the right earbud that’ll turn on active noise cancellation, tap and hold on the left earbud take the volume down and tap and hold on the right earbud takes the volume up.

You also get your battery percentage, transparent hearing if you want to turn on the ambient sound mode, you could do it from the app or the earbud. You can have it go to complete silence and just hear your outside sounds or you can keep your music playing. You also have a fully functional EQ.

I checked out the touch controls, a single tap on the left earbud for play and pause no problems with that, double-tap on the left earbud to skip to the next song no problems with that, triple tap on the left earbud to take us to the previous song no problems with that, a single tap on the right earbud for your voice assistant no problems with that, double tap on the right earbud to activate transparent hearing testing the ambient sound mode works, triple tap on the right earbud to turn on your active noise cancellation it works properly no problems with that, and also for volume control press and hold it works properly. So, all of the controls from the sensors work really well.

I carried out the range test too. These actually feature Bluetooth 5.1 so this should be guaranteed thirty feet but I tried it up to 50 feet. There was no drop connection at all, the music was crystal clear. I checked out the lag latency in this it means when you’re watching a video is there any delay from the person’s lips to what you hear. There was no lag at all with these it’s absolutely perfect. I watched YouTube video and Netflix there was no lag at all.

I also did the reconnection test, how long do these take to reconnect to your phone after you take them out and put them in a charging case. It takes about seven seconds to reconnect to your phone. You can play music from either side out of time, it’s just playing just amazing.

Apple Airpods Pro

For the paring process what you have to do is open up your iPhone, open up the Airpods, press connect, it’s just that simple. I carried out the reconnection test that how long do these take to reconnect to your phone after you take them out and put them in a charging case. It takes 2 to 3 seconds to reconnect once you take them out from the case.

I tested out the range quality, these have Bluetooth 4.0. So, that should be guaranteed thirty feet but I tried 50 feet. There was no drop connection at all, music sounded crystal clear. I checked out whether it has the problem of lag latency or not. This is perfect, no delay at all and this is gonna be perfect for watching your videos.

I tested out that can you play music from one earbud while the other one is charging up in the case. I took out the right one and drop it in the case and on the left side music was playing. Then I took out the left one and put it in the case and the right earbud was playing perfectly. So, you can listen to music from either earbud while the other one is charging up.

For music controls, you’re gonna be touching a little sensor on the side of the stem. One tap for play-pause, tap twice to skip to the next song, tap thrice to the reverse, press and hold to activate transparency mode, press and hold to turn on active noise cancellation and for Siri, all you gotta say is hey Siri. There was no problem with the touch controls at all.

I tested out the active noise cancellation and transparency mode. As far as transparency mode it works amazing. If you got these on and somebody starts talking to you, you don’t have to take these out, all you got to do is turn on transparency mode and you can have a full conversation with your music playing in the background. As far as active noise cancellation it’s that much good as the Sony. If you’re looking for the best active noise-canceling earbuds you got to go into Sony’s. That doesn’t mean these are worst but these are just ok.

BATTERY AND ITS LIFE:

Battery life is for 7 hours worth on a single charge and you can take them up by three more times using the charging case, so that’s a total of 28 hours worth of battery. With the originals, four hours worth of battery, that’s a major upgrade. You getting better battery life.

You can use these one at a time while the other one is charging up so that’s gonna double your battery life 7 hours worth of battery on a single charge and you can charge them up 3 more times you do the charging case. I love this charging case with the cloth material, the only thing missing from these is wireless charging. If this case had wireless charging it would pretty much be game over for everything else.

Apple Airpods Pro

For the battery, you’re getting four and a half hours on a single charge, five hours with active noise cancellation off, with the charging case that’s gonna give you over 24 hours, and these feature quick charge so five minutes of charge will give you one-hour playtime. For charging, just like the previous Airpods all you got to do is get any wireless charging pad or any phone that has reverse wireless charging.

SOUND:

These sound is amazing. If you heard the originals just imagine the originals would have active noise cancellation that’s how these sounds. This is really incredible.

I tested out the call quality with these. The person on the other side said I sounded crystal-clear and they sounded really clear to me. When you make a phone call with these it automatically puts on the ambiance our mode because you kind of has that kind of robotic-like a little bit of robotics into your voice but in a good way. If you want to turn off that you could go to settings and turn off sidetone and then you won’t hear that type of robotic sound. Overall, for call quality they are excellent.

I went outside and tested the ambient sound mode and active noise cancellation. When it comes to transparent hearing the Sennheiser Momentum tools are perfect. Once you turn on transparent hearing, you’re gonna hear your voice clearly and you’re gonna hear all your surroundings. The momentum tools are my new favorite truly wireless earbuds that feature ANC. All three the Airpods, Sony, and the Sennheiser have excellent active noise cancellation.

With the Sennheiser’s when you turn on active noise cancellation, your music quality sounds exactly the same but with the Sony’s and the Airpods Pro, if you turn on active noise cancellation you’re going to lose some quality of the music, it’s gonna sound a little bit more muffled, a little bit muddier. The Sennheiser’s they sound exactly the same and it’s incredible. If you heard the originals then you already know the sound quality is amazing. You got an app so you can add more bass, more treble, play with the EQ settings for yourself.

Apple Airpods Pro

So far these definitely sound better than original Airpods. Everybody doesn’t listen to hardcore hip-hop music, everybody doesn’t care about loud thunderous bass, some people are more concerned with highs and mids and crystal clear audio sound, and the Airpods Pro definitely deliver. These sound amazing. They sound crystal clear, nice and deep, nice bass drop and loud. That bass is deep and rich. They might be a little bit louder than the originals but because of the silicone ear tips, you can feel a lot more bass.

When I compared these with the Galaxy Buds the Airpods Pro sound a little bit better, the base is a little cleaner, a little bit richer, but as far as volume level they sound about the same. If you already got a set of Galaxy Buds the Airpods Pro is not really an upgrade, basically, they sound the same. If you had your Galaxy Buds compared to the original Airpods the buds were blowing them away because of the silicone tips and it just sounded like they got way more bass. But if you compare the Galaxy Buds to the Airpods Pro they almost sound the same. I would say the bass sounds a little bit cleaner with the pros but not by much.

When it comes to calling quality, nothing beats Airpods that was my main reason for using the original ones. The person on the other side said I sounded the same if I use the phone without earbuds. So, the call quality is excellent, nice, and loud crystal-clear.

WHICH TO BUY?

If you’re looking for the best all-around day-to-day listening volume levels, audio profiles, and clean, rich, and deep bass, you’ve to buy the Sennheiser’s. Yes, there are $50 more than the Airpods Pro but they worth it. In my opinion, the Airpods Pro doesn’t have good bass at all but if you are iOS user and your budget is about $250 then you can go for the Airpods Pro.
